1.
וָאָשֻׁב, וָאֶשָּׂא עֵינַי וָאֶרְאֶה, וְהִנֵּה אַרְבַּע מַרְכָּבוֹת יֹצְאוֹת, מִבֵּין שְׁנֵי הֶהָרִים; וְהֶהָרִים, הָרֵי נְחֹשֶׁת.
va'ashuv, va'essa 'einay va'er'eh, vehineh arba'ah markavot yotz'ot, mibein shenei heharim; veheharim, harei nechoshet.
And again I lifted up mine eyes, and saw, and, behold, there came four chariots out from between the two mountains; and the mountains were mountains of brass.
2.
בַּמֶּרְכָּבָה הָרִאשֹׁנָה, סוּסִים אֲדֻמִּים; וּבַמֶּרְכָּבָה הַשֵּׁנִית, סוּסִים שְׁחֹרִים.
bamerkavah harishonah, susim adumim; uvemerkavah hashenit, susim shehorim.
In the first chariot were red horses; and in the second chariot black horses;

וּבַמֶּרְכָּבָה הַשְּׁלִשִׁית, סוּסִים לְבָנִים; וּבַמֶּרְכָּבָה, הָרְבִעִית, סוּסִים בְּרֻדִּים, אֲמֻצִּים.
uvemerkavah hashtelisheit, susim levanim; uvemerkavah, harevi'it, susim berudim, amutsim.
and in the third chariot white horses; and in the fourth chariot grizzled bay horses.

וָאַעַן, וָאֹמַר, אֶל-הַמַּלְאָךְ, הַדֹּבֵר בִּי: מָה-אֵלֶּה, אֲדֹנִי.
va'an, va'omar, el-hamal'akh, hadover bi: mah-eileh, adoni.
Then I answered and said unto the angel that spoke with me: 'What are these, my lord?'

וַיַּעַן הַמַּלְאָךְ, וַיֹּאמֶר אֵלָי: אֵלֶּה, אַרְבַּע רוּחוֹת הַשָּׁמַיִם, יוֹצְאוֹת, מֵהִתְיַצֵּב עַל-אֲדוֹן כָּל-הָאָרֶץ.
vaya'an hamal'akh, vayomer elay: eileh, arba ruḥot hashamayim, yotze'ot, mehityatzev al-adon kol-ha'aretz.
And the angel answered and said unto me: 'These chariots go forth to the four winds of heaven, after presenting themselves before the Lord of all the earth.
6.
אֲשֶׁר-בָּהּ הַסּוּסִים הַשְּׁחֹרִים, יֹצְאִים אֶל-אֶרֶץ צָפוֹן, וְהַלְּבָנִים, יָצְאוּ אֶל-אַחֲרֵיהֶם; וְהַבְּרֻדִּים--יָצְאוּ, אֶל-אֶרֶץ הַתֵּימָן.
asher-bah hasusim hash'chorim, yotze'im el-eretz tzafon, vehal'vanim, yatz'u el-acharêhem; vehab'rudim--yatz'u, el-eretz hateyman.
That wherein are the black horses goeth forth toward the north country; and the white went forth after them; and the grizzled went forth toward the south country;

וְהָאֲמֻצִּים יָצְאוּ, וַיְבַקְשׁוּ לָלֶכֶת לְהִתְהַלֵּךְ בָּאָרֶץ, וַיֹּאמֶר, לְכוּ הִתְהַלְּכוּ בָאָרֶץ; וַתִּתְהַלַּכְנָה, בָּאָרֶץ.
veha'amutzim yatz'u, vayvaskhu lalekhet l'hithalekh ba'aretz, vayomer, lekhu hithalekhu ba'aretz; vatithalakhnah, ba'aretz.
and the bay went forth'. And they sought to go that they might walk to and fro through the earth; and he said: 'Get you hence, walk to and fro through the earth.' So they walked to and fro through the earth.

וַיַּזְעֵק אֹתִי, וַיְדַבֵּר אֵלַי לֵאמֹר: רְאֵה, הַיּוֹצְאִים אֶל-אֶרֶץ צָפוֹן--הֵנִיחוּ אֶת-רוּחִי, בְּאֶרֶץ צָפוֹן.
vayaz'ek oti, vaydaber elay lemor: re'eh, hayotze'im el-eretz tzafon--henihu et-ruchi, b'eretz tzafon.
Then cried he upon me, and spoke unto me, saying: 'Behold, they that go toward the north country have eased My spirit in the north country.'
9.
וַיְהִי דְבַר-יְהוָה, אֵלַי לֵאמֹר.
vayhi devar-YHWH, elay lemor.
And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying:
10.
לָקוֹחַ, מֵאֵת הַגּוֹלָה, מֵחֶלְדַּי, וּמֵאֵת טוֹבִיָּה וּמֵאֵת יְדַעְיָה; וּבָאתָ אַתָּה, בַּיּוֹם הַהוּא, וּבָאתָ בֵּית יֹאשִׁיָּה בֶן-צְפַנְיָה, אֲשֶׁר-בָּאוּ מִבָּבֶל.
laqo'ah, me'et hagolah, mekhelday, ume'et toviyah ume'et yeda'yah; uba'ta atah, bayom hahu, uba'ta beit yoshiyah ven-tsefanyah, asher-ba'u mibavel.
'Take of them of the captivity, even of Heldai, of Tobijah, and of Jedaiah, that are come from Babylon; and come thou the same day, and go into the house of Josiah the son of Zephaniah;
11.
וְלָקַחְתָּ כֶסֶף-וְזָהָב, וְעָשִׂיתָ עֲטָרוֹת; וְשַׂמְתָּ, בְּרֹאשׁ יְהוֹשֻׁעַ בֶּן-יְהוֹצָדָק--הַכֹּהֵן הַגָּדוֹל.
velakahta khesef-vezahav, ve'asita atarot; vesamta, berosh yehoshua ben-yehotsadak--hakohen hagadol.
yea, take silver and gold, and make crowns, and set the one upon the head of Joshua the son of Jehozadak, the high priest;

וְאָמַרְתָּ אֵלָיו לֵאמֹר, כֹּה אָמַר יְהוָה צְבָאוֹת לֵאמֹר: הִנֵּה-אִישׁ צֶמַח שְׁמוֹ, וּמִתַּחְתָּיו יִצְמָח, וּבָנָה, אֶת-הֵיכַל יְהוָה.
ve'amarta elav lemor, koh amar YHWH tseva'ot lemor: hineh-ish tsemakh shemo, umitakhtav yitsmakh, uvanah, et-heykal YHWH.
and speak unto him, saying: Thus speaketh the LORD of hosts, saying: Behold, a man whose name is the Shoot, and who shall shoot up out of his place, and build the temple of the LORD;
13.
וְהוּא יִבְנֶה אֶת-הֵיכַל יְהוָה, וְהוּא-יִשָּׂא הוֹד, וְיָשַׁב וּמָשַׁל, עַל-כִּסְאוֹ; וְהָיָה כֹהֵן, עַל-כִּסְאוֹ, וַעֲצַת שָׁלוֹם, תִּהְיֶה בֵּין שְׁנֵיהֶם.
vehu yivneh et-heykal YHWH, vehu-yisa hod, veyashav umashal, al-kis'o; vehayah kohen, al-kis'o, va'atsat shalom, tihyeh bein sheneihem.
even he shall build the temple of the LORD; and he shall bear the glory, and shall sit and rule upon his throne; and there shall be a priest before his throne; and the counsel of peace shall be between them both.
14.
וְהָעֲטָרֹת, תִּהְיֶה לְחֵלֶם וּלְטוֹבִיָּה וְלִידַעְיָה, וּלְחֵן, בֶּן-צְפַנְיָה--לְזִכָּרוֹן, בְּהֵיכַל יְהוָה.
veha'atarot, tihyeh lehelem uletoviyah veliyedayah, ulechen, ben-tsefonyah--lezikaron, beheykal YHWH.
And the crowns shall be to Helem, and to Tobijah, and to Jedaiah, and to Hen the son of Zephaniah, as a memorial in the temple of the LORD.
15.
וּרְחוֹקִים יָבֹאוּ, וּבָנוּ בְּהֵיכַל יְהוָה, וִידַעְתֶּם, כִּי-יְהוָה צְבָאוֹת שְׁלָחַנִי אֲלֵיכֶם; וְהָיָה אִם-שָׁמוֹעַ תִּשְׁמְעוּן, בְּקוֹל יְהוָה אֱלֹהֵיכֶם.
urechokim yavo'u, uvanu beheykal YHWH, vide'tem, ki-YHWH tseva'ot shelachani aleichem; vehayah im-shamo'a tishme'un, bekol YHWH Eloheichem.
And they that are far off shall come and build in the temple of the LORD, and ye shall know that the LORD of hosts hath sent me unto you. And it shall come to pass, if ye will diligently hearken to the voice of the LORD your God--.'
