1.
וָאֶשָּׂא אֶת-עֵינַי, וָאֵרֶא; וְהִנֵּה, אַרְבַּע קְרָנוֹת.
va'essa et-einay, va'ere; vehinneh, arba kranot.
And I lifted up mine eyes, and saw, and behold four horns.
2.
וָאֹמַר, אֶל-הַמַּלְאָךְ הַדֹּבֵר בִּי--מָה-אֵלֶּה; וַיֹּאמֶר אֵלַי--אֵלֶּה הַקְּרָנוֹת אֲשֶׁר זֵרוּ אֶת-יְהוּדָה, אֶת-יִשְׂרָאֵל וִירוּשָׁלִָם.
va'omar, el-hamal'akh hadover bi--mah-eleh; vayomer elay--eleh haqrenot asher zeru et-Yehudah, et-Yisrael virushalayim.
And I said unto the angel that spoke with me: 'What are these?' And he said unto me: 'These are the horns which have scattered Judah, Israel, and Jerusalem.'

וַיַּרְאֵנִי יְהוָה, אַרְבָּעָה חָרָשִׁים.
vayareni YHWH, arba'ah kharashim.
And the LORD showed me four craftsmen.
4.
וָאֹמַר, מָה אֵלֶּה בָאִים לַעֲשׂוֹת; וַיֹּאמֶר לֵאמֹר, אֵלֶּה הַקְּרָנוֹת אֲשֶׁר-זֵרוּ אֶת-יְהוּדָה כְּפִי-אִישׁ לֹא-נָשָׂא רֹאשׁוֹ, וַיָּבֹאוּ אֵלֶּה לְהַחֲרִיד אֹתָם, לְיַדּוֹת אֶת-קַרְנוֹת הַגּוֹיִם הַנֹּשְׂאִים קֶרֶן אֶל-אֶרֶץ יְהוּדָה לְזָרוֹתָהּ.
va'omar, mah eleh ba'im la'asot; vayomer lemor, eleh haqrenot asher-zeru et-Yehudah kefi-ish lo-nasa rosho, vayavo'u eleh lehakharrid otam, leyadot et-qarnot haggoyim hannosim qeren el-erets Yehudah lezarotah.
Then said I: 'What come these to do?' And he spoke, saying: 'These--the horns which scattered Judah, so that no man did lift up his head--these then are come to frighten them, to cast down the horns of the nations, which lifted up their horn against the land of Judah to scatter it.'
5.
וָאֶשָּׂא עֵינַי וָאֵרֶא, וְהִנֵּה-אִישׁ; וּבְיָדוֹ, חֶבֶל מִדָּה.
va'essa enay va'ere, vehinneh-ish; uveyado, khevel middah.
And I lifted up mine eyes, and saw, and behold a man with a measuring line in his hand.
6.
וָאֹמַר, אָנָה אַתָּה הֹלֵךְ; וַיֹּאמֶר אֵלַי, לָמֹד אֶת-יְרוּשָׁלִַם, לִרְאוֹת כַּמָּה-רָחְבָּהּ, וְכַמָּה אָרְכָּהּ.
va'omar, anah atah holekh; vayomer elay, lamod et-Yerushalayim, lir'ot kammah-rakhbah, vekammah arkah.
Then said I: 'Whither goest thou?' And he said unto me: 'To measure Jerusalem, to see what is the breadth thereof, and what is the length thereof.'
7.
וְהִנֵּה, הַמַּלְאָךְ הַדֹּבֵר בִּי--יֹצֵא; וּמַלְאָךְ אַחֵר, יֹצֵא לִקְרָאתוֹ.
vehinneh, hammal'akh hadover bi--yotze; umal'akh akher, yotze likrato.
And, behold, the angel that spoke with me went forth, and another angel went out to meet him,
8.
וַיֹּאמֶר אֵלָו--רֻץ דַּבֵּר אֶל-הַנַּעַר הַלָּז, לֵאמֹר: פְּרָזוֹת תֵּשֵׁב יְרוּשָׁלִַם, מֵרֹב אָדָם וּבְהֵמָה בְּתוֹכָהּ.
vayomer elav--rutz daber el-hanna'ar hallaz, lemor: perazot teshev Yerushalayim, merov adam uvehemah betokhah.
and said unto him: 'Run, speak to this young man, saying: 'Jerusalem shall be inhabited without walls for the multitude of men and cattle therein.
9.
וַאֲנִי אֶהְיֶה-לָּהּ נְאֻם-יְהוָה, חוֹמַת אֵשׁ סָבִיב; וּלְכָבוֹד, אֶהְיֶה בְתוֹכָהּ.
va'ani ehyeh-llah neum-YHWH, khomat esh savib; ulekhavod, ehyeh vetokhah.
For I, saith the LORD, will be unto her a wall of fire round about, and I will be the glory in the midst of her.
10.
הוֹי הוֹי, וְנֻסוּ מֵאֶרֶץ צָפוֹן--נְאֻם-יְהוָה: כִּי כְּאַרְבַּע רוּחוֹת הַשָּׁמַיִם, פֵּרַשְׂתִּי אֶתְכֶם--נְאֻם-יְהוָה.
Hoy hoy, venusu me'eretz tzafon--ne'um-YHWH: ki ke'arba ruchot hashamayim, perasti etchem--ne'um-YHWH.
Ho, ho, flee then from the land of the north, saith the LORD; for I have spread you abroad as the four winds of the heaven, saith the LORD.
11.
הוֹי צִיּוֹן, הִמָּלְטִי--יוֹשֶׁבֶת, בַּת-בָּבֶל.
Hoy tziyon, himalti--yoshevet, bat-bavel.
Ho, Zion, escape, thou that dwellest with the daughter of Babylon.'
12.
כִּי כֹה אָמַר, יְהוָה צְבָאוֹת, אַחַר כָּבוֹד, שְׁלָחַנִי אֶל-הַגּוֹיִם הַשֹּׁלְלִים אֶתְכֶם: כִּי הַנֹּגֵעַ בָּכֶם, נֹגֵעַ בְּבָבַת עֵינוֹ.
Ki koh amar, YHWH tzva'ot, achar kavod, shelachani el-hagoyim hashollim etchem: ki hanoge'a bachem, noge'a bevavat eyno.
For thus saith the LORD of hosts who sent me after glory unto the nations which spoiled you: 'Surely, he that toucheth you toucheth the apple of his eye.
13.
כִּי הִנְנִי מֵנִיף אֶת-יָדִי, עֲלֵיהֶם, וְהָיוּ שָׁלָל, לְעַבְדֵיהֶם; וִידַעְתֶּם, כִּי-יְהוָה צְבָאוֹת שְׁלָחָנִי.
Ki hinni menif et-yadi, aleihem, vehayu shalal, le'avdehem; vida'etem, ki-YHWH tzva'ot shelachani.
For, behold, I will shake My hand over them, and they shall be a spoil to those that served them'; and ye shall know that the LORD of hosts hath sent me.
14.
רָנִּי וְשִׂמְחִי, בַּת-צִיּוֹן--כִּי הִנְנִי-בָא וְשָׁכַנְתִּי בְתוֹכֵךְ, נְאֻם-יְהוָה.
Rani vesimchi, bat-Tziyon--ki hinneni-va'a veshakhanti vetokhek, ne'um-YHWH.
'Sing and rejoice, O daughter of Zion; for, lo, I come, and I will dwell in the midst of thee, saith the LORD.
15.
וְנִלְווּ גוֹיִם רַבִּים אֶל-יְהוָה בַּיּוֹם הַהוּא, וְהָיוּ לִי לְעָם; וְשָׁכַנְתִּי בְתוֹכֵךְ--וְיָדַעַתְּ, כִּי-יְהוָה צְבָאוֹת שְׁלָחַנִי אֵלָיִךְ.
Venilvu goyim rabim el-YHWH bayom hahu, vehayu li le'am; veshakhanti vetokhek--veyada'at, ki-YHWH tseva'ot shelakhani elayikh.
And many nations shall join themselves to the LORD in that day, and shall be My people, and I will dwell in the midst of thee'; and thou shalt know that the LORD of hosts hath sent me unto thee.
16.
וְנָחַל יְהוָה אֶת-יְהוּדָה חֶלְקוֹ, עַל אַדְמַת הַקֹּדֶשׁ; וּבָחַר עוֹד, בִּירוּשָׁלִָם.
Venakhal YHWH et-Yehudah khelko, al admat ha-qodesh; uvakhar od, birushalayim.
And the LORD shall inherit Judah as His portion in the holy land, and shall choose Jerusalem again.
17.
הַס כָּל-בָּשָׂר, מִפְּנֵי יְהוָה--כִּי נֵעוֹר, מִמְּעוֹן קָדְשׁוֹ.
Has kol-basar, mipnei YHWH--ki ne'or, mim'on qodsho.
Be silent, all flesh, before the LORD; for He is aroused out of His holy habitation.
