1.לַמְנַצֵּחַ עַל-הַגִּתִּית לְאָסָף.lamnatzeach al-hagittit le'asaf.For the Leader; upon the Gittith. [A Psalm] of Asaph.
2.הַרְנִינוּ, לֵאלֹהִים עוּזֵּנוּ; הָרִיעוּ, לֵאלֹהֵי יַעֲקֹב.harninu, lelohim uzenu; hariu, lelohei ya'akov.Sing aloud unto God our strength; shout unto the God of Jacob.
3.שְׂאוּ-זִמְרָה, וּתְנוּ-תֹף; כִּנּוֹר נָעִים עִם-נָבֶל.se'u-zimrah, utenu-tof; kinnor na'im im-navel.Take up the melody, and sound the timbrel, the sweet harp with the psaltery.
4.תִּקְעוּ בַחֹדֶשׁ שׁוֹפָר; בַּכֵּסֶה, לְיוֹם חַגֵּנוּ.tik'u vachodesh shofar; bakesese, leyom chagenu.Blow the horn at the new moon, at the full moon for our feast-day.
5.כִּי חֹק לְיִשְׂרָאֵל הוּא; מִשְׁפָּט, לֵאלֹהֵי יַעֲקֹב.ki khok leyisra'el hu; mishpat, lelohei ya'akov.For it is a statute for Israel, an ordinance of the God of Jacob.
6.עֵדוּת, בִּיהוֹסֵף שָׂמוֹ-- בְּצֵאתוֹ, עַל-אֶרֶץ מִצְרָיִם;שְׂפַת לֹא-יָדַעְתִּי אֶשְׁמָע.edut, bihosef samo-- betseto, al-eretz mitzrayim; sefat lo-yadati eshma.He appointed it in Joseph for a testimony, when He went forth against the land of Egypt. The speech of one that I knew not did I hear:
7.הֲסִירוֹתִי מִסֵּבֶל שִׁכְמוֹ; כַּפָּיו, מִדּוּד תַּעֲבֹרְנָה.hasiroti missevel shikmo; kappaw, middud ta'avornah.'I removed his shoulder from the burden; his hands were freed from the basket.
8.בַּצָּרָה קָרָאתָ, וָאֲחַלְּצֶךָּ:אֶעֶנְךָ, בְּסֵתֶר רַעַם; אֶבְחָנְךָ עַל-מֵי מְרִיבָה סֶלָה.battsarah karata, va'akhalletseka: e'enka, beseter ra'am; evkhaneka al-mei merivah selah.Thou didst call in trouble, and I rescued thee; I answered thee in the secret place of thunder; I proved thee at the waters of Meribah. Selah
9.שְׁמַע עַמִּי, וְאָעִידָה בָּךְ; יִשְׂרָאֵל, אִם-תִּשְׁמַע-לִי.Shema ammi, ve'aidah bakh; Yisrael, im-tishma-li.Hear, O My people, and I will admonish thee: O Israel, if thou wouldest hearken unto Me!
10.לֹא-יִהְיֶה בְךָ, אֵל זָר; וְלֹא תִשְׁתַּחֲוֶה, לְאֵל נֵכָר.lo-yihyeh bekha, el zar; velo tishtakhaveh, le'el nekhar.There shall no strange god be in thee; neither shalt thou worship any foreign god.
11.אָנֹכִי, יְהוָה אֱלֹהֶיךָ-- הַמַּעַלְךָ, מֵאֶרֶץ מִצְרָיִם;הַרְחֶב-פִּיךָ, וַאֲמַלְאֵהוּ.anokhi, YHWH elohekha-- hamama'alkha, me'eretz mitzrayim; harkhev-pikha, va'amla'ehu.I am the LORD thy God, who brought thee up out of the land of Egypt; open thy mouth wide, and I will fill it.
12.וְלֹא-שָׁמַע עַמִּי לְקוֹלִי; וְיִשְׂרָאֵל, לֹא-אָבָה לִי.velo-shama ammi lekoli; veYisrael, lo-avah li.But My people hearkened not to My voice; and Israel would none of Me.
13.וָאֲשַׁלְּחֵהוּ, בִּשְׁרִירוּת לִבָּם; יֵלְכוּ, בְּמוֹעֲצוֹתֵיהֶם.va'ashallekhehu, bishrirut libbam; yelekhu, bemo'atsoteyhem.So I let them go after the stubbornness of their heart, that they might walk in their own counsels.
14.לוּ--עַמִּי, שֹׁמֵעַ לִי; יִשְׂרָאֵל, בִּדְרָכַי יְהַלֵּכוּ.lu--ammi, shome'a li; Yisrael, bidrakhay yehallekhu.Oh that My people would hearken unto Me, that Israel would walk in My ways!
15.כִּמְעַט, אוֹיְבֵיהֶם אַכְנִיעַ; וְעַל צָרֵיהֶם, אָשִׁיב יָדִי.kim'at, oyvehem akhnia; ve'al tsareyhem, ashiv yadi.I would soon subdue their enemies, and turn My hand against their adversaries.
16.מְשַׂנְאֵי יְהוָה, יְכַחֲשׁוּ-לוֹ; וִיהִי עִתָּם לְעוֹלָם.mesan'e YHWH, yekhakhashu-lo; vihi ittam le'olam.The haters of the LORD should dwindle away before Him; and their punishment should endure for ever.
17.וַיַּאֲכִילֵהוּ, מֵחֵלֶב חִטָּה; וּמִצּוּר, דְּבַשׁ אַשְׂבִּיעֶךָ.vayya'akhilehu mekhalev khittah umitzur devash ashbi'ekhaThey should also be fed with the fat of wheat; and with honey out of the rock would I satisfy thee.'
