אֱלֹהִים, אֵלִי אַתָּה-- אֲשַׁחֲרֶךָּ:צָמְאָה לְךָ, נַפְשִׁי-- כָּמַהּ לְךָ בְשָׂרִי;בְּאֶרֶץ-צִיָּה וְעָיֵף בְּלִי-מָיִם.
Elohim, Eli attah-- ashakherteka: tzame'ah lekha, nafshi-- kamah lekha vesari; be'eretz-tziyah ve'ayef beli-mayim.
O God, Thou art my God, earnestly will I seek Thee; my soul thirsteth for Thee, my flesh longeth for Thee, in a dry and weary land, where no water is.
3.
כֵּן, בַּקֹּדֶשׁ חֲזִיתִךָ-- לִרְאוֹת עֻזְּךָ, וּכְבוֹדֶךָ.
ken, baqodesh khazitikha-- li'rot uzecha, ukhvodekha.
So have I looked for Thee in the sanctuary, to see Thy power and Thy glory.
4.
כִּי-טוֹב חַסְדְּךָ, מֵחַיִּים; שְׂפָתַי יְשַׁבְּחוּנְךָ.
ki-tov khasdeka, mekhayim; sefatay yeshabhukhunka.
For Thy lovingkindness is better than life; my lips shall praise Thee.
5.
כֵּן אֲבָרֶכְךָ בְחַיָּי; בְּשִׁמְךָ, אֶשָּׂא כַפָּי.
ken avarekha vekhayay beshimkha essa kapay
So will I bless Thee as long as I live; in Thy name will I lift up my hands.
6.
כְּמוֹ חֵלֶב וָדֶשֶׁן, תִּשְׂבַּע נַפְשִׁי; וְשִׂפְתֵי רְנָנוֹת, יְהַלֶּל-פִּי.
kemo khelev vadeshen tisba nafshi vesiftei renanot yehalel-pi
My soul is satisfied as with marrow and fatness; and my mouth doth praise Thee with joyful lips;
7.
אִם-זְכַרְתִּיךָ עַל-יְצוּעָי-- בְּאַשְׁמֻרוֹת, אֶהְגֶּה-בָּךְ.
im-zekhartikha al-yetsuey be'ashmurot ehge-vakh
When I remember Thee upon my couch, and meditate on Thee in the night-watches.
8.
כִּי-הָיִיתָ עֶזְרָתָה לִּי; וּבְצֵל כְּנָפֶיךָ אֲרַנֵּן.
ki-hayita ezrata li uvtsel kenafeykha aranen
For Thou hast been my help, and in the shadow of Thy wings do I rejoice.
9.
דָּבְקָה נַפְשִׁי אַחֲרֶיךָ; בִּי, תָּמְכָה יְמִינֶךָ.
dovqah nafshi akharekha; bi, tamkhah yeminekha.
My soul cleaveth unto Thee; Thy right hand holdeth me fast.
10.
וְהֵמָּה--לְשׁוֹאָה, יְבַקְשׁוּ נַפְשִׁי; יָבֹאוּ, בְּתַחְתִּיּוֹת הָאָרֶץ.
vehemmah--lesho'ah, yevaqshu nafshi; yavo'u, betakhtiyot ha'aretz.
But those that seek my soul, to destroy it, shall go into the nethermost parts of the earth.
11.
יַגִּירֻהוּ, עַל-יְדֵי-חָרֶב; מְנָת שֻׁעָלִים יִהְיוּ.
yaggiruhu, al-yede-kharev; menat shualim yihyu.
They shall be hurled to the power of the sword; they shall be a portion for foxes.
12.
וְהַמֶּלֶךְ, יִשְׂמַח בֵּאלֹהִים:יִתְהַלֵּל, כָּל-הַנִּשְׁבָּע בּוֹ-- כִּי יִסָּכֵר, פִּי דוֹבְרֵי-שָׁקֶר.
vehammelekh, yismakh belohim:yithallel, kol-hannishba bo-- ki yissakher, pi dovrei-shaker.
But the king shall rejoice in God; every one that sweareth by Him shall glory; for the mouth of them that speak lies shall be stopped.
