2.בְּבוֹא-אֵלָיו, נָתָן הַנָּבִיא-- כַּאֲשֶׁר-בָּא, אֶל-בַּת-שָׁבַע.bevo-elav, natan hanavi-- ka'asher-ba, el-bat-shava.When Nathan the prophet came unto him, after he had gone in to Bath-sheba.
3.חָנֵּנִי אֱלֹהִים כְּחַסְדֶּךָ; כְּרֹב רַחֲמֶיךָ, מְחֵה פְשָׁעָי.chaneni elohim kez'hasdeka; kerov rachamecha, mehe feshay.Be gracious unto me, O God, according to Thy mercy; according to the multitude of Thy compassions blot out my transgressions.
4.הרבה הֶרֶב, כַּבְּסֵנִי מֵעֲוֺנִי; וּמֵחַטָּאתִי טַהֲרֵנִי.harbe herev, kabseni me'avoni; umechattati tahareni.Wash me thoroughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin.
5.כִּי-פְשָׁעַי, אֲנִי אֵדָע; וְחַטָּאתִי נֶגְדִּי תָמִיד.ki-fesha'ay, ani eda; vechatati negdi tamid.For I know my transgressions; and my sin is ever before me.
6.לְךָ לְבַדְּךָ, חָטָאתִי, וְהָרַע בְּעֵינֶיךָ, עָשִׂיתִי:לְמַעַן, תִּצְדַּק בְּדָבְרֶךָ-- תִּזְכֶּה בְשָׁפְטֶךָ.lecha levadcha, chatati, vehara be'einecha, asiti: lema'an, tצdak bedavrecha-- tizkeh veshoftecha.Against Thee, Thee only, have I sinned, and done that which is evil in Thy sight; that Thou mayest be justified when Thou speakest, and be in the right when Thou judgest.
7.הֵן-בְּעָווֹן חוֹלָלְתִּי; וּבְחֵטְא, יֶחֱמַתְנִי אִמִּי.hen-be'avon cholalti; uvuchete, yechematni imi.Behold, I was brought forth in iniquity, and in sin did my mother conceive me.
8.הֵן-אֱמֶת, חָפַצְתָּ בַטֻּחוֹת; וּבְסָתֻם, חָכְמָה תוֹדִיעֵנִי.hen-emet, chafatzta vatuchot; uvsatum, chachmah todie'eni.Behold, Thou desirest truth in the inward parts; make me, therefore, to know wisdom in mine inmost heart.
9.תְּחַטְּאֵנִי בְאֵזוֹב וְאֶטְהָר; תְּכַבְּסֵנִי, וּמִשֶּׁלֶג אַלְבִּין.techat'eni ve'ezov ve'et'har; tekabseni, u'misheleg albin.Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean; wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.
10.תַּשְׁמִיעֵנִי, שָׂשׂוֹן וְשִׂמְחָה; תָּגֵלְנָה, עֲצָמוֹת דִּכִּיתָ.tashmi'eni, sason ve'simcha; tagelna, atzamot dikita.Make me to hear joy and gladness; that the bones which Thou hast crushed may rejoice.
11.הַסְתֵּר פָּנֶיךָ, מֵחֲטָאָי; וְכָל-עֲוֺנֹתַי מְחֵה.haster paneicha, me'chata'ay; ve'kol-avonotay mecheh.Hide Thy face from my sins, and blot out all mine iniquities.
12.לֵב טָהוֹר, בְּרָא-לִי אֱלֹהִים; וְרוּחַ נָכוֹן, חַדֵּשׁ בְּקִרְבִּי.lev tahor, bera-li elohim; ve'ruach nachon, chadesh be'kirbi.Create me a clean heart, O God; and renew a stedfast spirit within me.
13.אַל-תַּשְׁלִיכֵנִי מִלְּפָנֶיךָ; וְרוּחַ קָדְשְׁךָ, אַל-תִּקַּח מִמֶּנִּי.al-tashlikheni milfanekha; veruakh kodshekha, al-tikakh mimeni.Cast me not away from Thy presence; and take not Thy holy spirit from me.
14.הָשִׁיבָה לִּי, שְׂשׂוֹן יִשְׁעֶךָ; וְרוּחַ נְדִיבָה תִסְמְכֵנִי.hashiva li, seson yis'ekha; veruakh nediva tismekheni.Restore unto me the joy of Thy salvation; and let a willing spirit uphold me.
15.אֲלַמְּדָה פֹשְׁעִים דְּרָכֶיךָ; וְחַטָּאִים, אֵלֶיךָ יָשׁוּבוּ.alameda fosh'im derakhekha; vechata'im, eilekha yashuvu.Then will I teach transgressors Thy ways; and sinners shall return unto Thee.
16.הַצִּילֵנִי מִדָּמִים, אֱלֹהִים-- אֱלֹהֵי תְשׁוּעָתִי:תְּרַנֵּן לְשׁוֹנִי, צִדְקָתֶךָ.hatsileni midamim, Elohim-- Elohei tshu'ati: teranen leshoni, tzidkatekha.Deliver me from bloodguiltiness, O God, Thou God of my salvation; so shall my tongue sing aloud of Thy righteousness.
17.אֲדֹנָי, שְׂפָתַי תִּפְתָּח; וּפִי, יַגִּיד תְּהִלָּתֶךָ.Adonai sefatay tiftakh ufi yaggid tehillatekhaO Lord, open Thou my lips; and my mouth shall declare Thy praise.
18.כִּי, לֹא-תַחְפֹּץ זֶבַח וְאֶתֵּנָה; עוֹלָה, לֹא תִרְצֶה.Ki lo-takhpotz zevakh ve'ettenah olah lo tirtzehFor Thou delightest not in sacrifice, else would I give it; Thou hast no pleasure in burnt-offering.
19.זִבְחֵי אֱלֹהִים, רוּחַ נִשְׁבָּרָה:לֵב-נִשְׁבָּר וְנִדְכֶּה-- אֱלֹהִים, לֹא תִבְזֶה.Zivkhei Elohim ruakh nishbarah lev-nishbar venidkeh Elohim lo tivzehThe sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; a broken and a contrite heart, O God, Thou wilt not despise.
20.הֵיטִיבָה בִרְצוֹנְךָ, אֶת-צִיּוֹן; תִּבְנֶה, חוֹמוֹת יְרוּשָׁלִָם.Heitivah birtzonkha et-tziyon tivneh khomot YerushalayimDo good in Thy favour unto Zion; build Thou the walls of Jerusalem.
21.אָז תַּחְפֹּץ זִבְחֵי-צֶדֶק, עוֹלָה וְכָלִיל;אָז יַעֲלוּ עַל-מִזְבַּחֲךָ פָרִים.az takhpotz zivkhei-tzedek, olah ve-khalil; az ya'alu al-mizvakhakha farim.Then wilt Thou delight in the sacrifices of righteousness, in burnt-offering and whole offering; then will they offer bullocks upon Thine altar.
