2.אַשְׁרֵי, מַשְׂכִּיל אֶל-דָּל; בְּיוֹם רָעָה, יְמַלְּטֵהוּ יְהוָה.ashrei, maskil el-dal; beyom ra'ah, yemaletehu YHWH.Happy is he that considereth the poor; the LORD will deliver him in the day of evil.
3.יְהוָה, יִשְׁמְרֵהוּ וִיחַיֵּהוּ--יאשר וְאֻשַּׁר בָּאָרֶץ; וְאַל-תִּתְּנֵהוּ, בְּנֶפֶשׁ אֹיְבָיו.YHWH, yishmerehu vikhyayehu--ve'ushar ba'aretz; ve'al-titenehu, benefesh oyvav.The LORD preserve him, and keep him alive, let him be called happy in the land; and deliver not Thou him unto the greed of his enemies.
4.יְהוָה--יִסְעָדֶנּוּ, עַל-עֶרֶשׂ דְּוָי; כָּל-מִשְׁכָּבוֹ, הָפַכְתָּ בְחָלְיוֹ.YHWH--yis'adenu, al-eres devay; kol-mishkavo, hafakta bekhalyo.The LORD support him upon the bed of illness; mayest Thou turn all his lying down in his sickness.
5.אֲנִי-אָמַרְתִּי, יְהוָה חָנֵּנִי; רְפָאָה נַפְשִׁי, כִּי-חָטָאתִי לָךְ.ani-amarti, YHWH khanneni; refa'ah nafshi, ki-khatati lakh.As for me, I said: 'O LORD, be gracious unto me; heal my soul; for I have sinned against Thee.'
6.אוֹיְבַי--יֹאמְרוּ רַע לִי; מָתַי יָמוּת, וְאָבַד שְׁמוֹ.oyevay yomru ra li, matay yamut, ve'avad shemo.Mine enemies speak evil of me: 'When shall he die, and his name perish?'
7.וְאִם-בָּא לִרְאוֹת, שָׁוְא יְדַבֵּר--לִבּוֹ, יִקְבָּץ-אָוֶן לוֹ; יֵצֵא לַחוּץ יְדַבֵּר.ve'im-ba li'rot, shav yidaber, libo yikvatz-aven lo; yetze lakhutz yedaber.And if one come to see me, he speaketh falsehood; his heart gathereth iniquity to itself; when he goeth abroad, he speaketh of it.
8.יַחַד--עָלַי יִתְלַחֲשׁוּ, כָּל-שֹׂנְאָי; עָלַי--יַחְשְׁבוּ רָעָה לִי.yachad alay yitlakhushu, kol-sone'ay; alay yachshevu ra'ah li.All that hate me whisper together against me, against me do they devise my hurt:
9.דְּבַר-בְּלִיַּעַל, יָצוּק בּוֹ; וַאֲשֶׁר שָׁכַב, לֹא-יוֹסִיף לָקוּם.devar-beliya'al, yatzuk bo; va'asher shakav, lo-yosif lakum.'An evil thing cleaveth fast unto him; and now that he lieth, he shall rise up no more.'
10.גַּם-אִישׁ שְׁלוֹמִי, אֲשֶׁר-בָּטַחְתִּי בוֹ-- אוֹכֵל לַחְמִי;הִגְדִּיל עָלַי עָקֵב.gam-ish shlomi, asher-batakhti bo-- okhel lakhemi; higdil alay akev.Yea, mine own familiar friend, in whom I trusted, who did eat of my bread, hath lifted up his heel against me.
11.וְאַתָּה יְהוָה, חָנֵּנִי וַהֲקִימֵנִי; וַאֲשַׁלְּמָה לָהֶם.ve'atah YHWH, khanneni vahaqimeni; va'ashalmah lahem.But Thou, O LORD, be gracious unto me, and raise me up, that I may requite them.
12.בְּזֹאת יָדַעְתִּי, כִּי-חָפַצְתָּ בִּי: כִּי לֹא-יָרִיעַ אֹיְבִי עָלָי.bezot yadati, ki-khafatsta bi: ki lo-yaria oyvi alay.By this I know that Thou delightest in me, that mine enemy doth not triumph over me.
13.וַאֲנִי--בְּתֻמִּי, תָּמַכְתָּ בִּי; וַתַּצִּיבֵנִי לְפָנֶיךָ לְעוֹלָם.va'ani--betumi, tamakhta bi; vatzitseni lefanekha le'olam.And as for me, Thou upholdest me because of mine integrity, and settest me before Thy face for ever.
14.בָּרוּךְ יְהוָה, אֱלֹהֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל--מֵהָעוֹלָם, וְעַד הָעוֹלָם: אָמֵן וְאָמֵן.baruch YHWH, Elohei Yisrael--meha'olam, ve'ad ha'olam: amen ve'amen.Blessed be the LORD, the God of Israel, from everlasting and to everlasting. Amen, and Amen.
