1.
לַמְנַצֵּחַ, עַל-אַיֶּלֶת הַשַּׁחַר; מִזְמוֹר לְדָוִד.
lamnatze'akh, al-ayelet hashakhar; mizmor ledavid.
For the Leader; upon Aijeleth ha-Shahar. A Psalm of David.
2.
אֵלִי אֵלִי, לָמָה עֲזַבְתָּנִי; רָחוֹק מִישׁוּעָתִי, דִּבְרֵי שַׁאֲגָתִי.
eli eli, lamah azavtani; rakhok mishu'ati, divrei sha'agati.
My God, my God, why hast Thou forsaken me, and art far from my help at the words of my cry?
3.
אֱלֹהַי--אֶקְרָא יוֹמָם, וְלֹא תַעֲנֶה; וְלַיְלָה, וְלֹא-דֻמִיָּה לִי.
Elohai--ekra yomam, velo ta'aneh; velaylah, velo-dumiyah li.
O my God, I call by day, but Thou answerest not; and at night, and there is no surcease for me.
4.
וְאַתָּה קָדוֹשׁ-- יוֹשֵׁב, תְּהִלּוֹת יִשְׂרָאֵל.
ve'atah kadosh yoshev tehilot yisrael
Yet Thou art holy, O Thou that art enthroned upon the praises of Israel.
5.
בְּךָ, בָּטְחוּ אֲבֹתֵינוּ; בָּטְחוּ, וַתְּפַלְּטֵמוֹ.
bekha batkhu avoteinu batkhu vatepaletem
In Thee did our fathers trust; they trusted, and Thou didst deliver them.
6.
אֵלֶיךָ זָעֲקוּ וְנִמְלָטוּ; בְּךָ בָטְחוּ וְלֹא-בוֹשׁוּ.
elexa za'uku venimlatu bekha batkhu velo voshu
Unto Thee they cried, and escaped; in Thee did they trust, and were not ashamed.
7.
וְאָנֹכִי תוֹלַעַת וְלֹא-אִישׁ; חֶרְפַּת אָדָם, וּבְזוּי עָם.
ve'anokhi tola'at velo ish kherpat adam uvezuy am
But I am a worm, and no man; a reproach of men, and despised of the people.
8.
כָּל-רֹאַי, יַלְעִגוּ לִי; יַפְטִירוּ בְשָׂפָה, יָנִיעוּ רֹאשׁ.
kol-ro'ai, yal'igu li; yaftiru vesafah, yani'u rosh.
All they that see me laugh me to scorn; they shoot out the lip, they shake the head:
9.
גֹּל אֶל-יְהוָה יְפַלְּטֵהוּ; יַצִּילֵהוּ, כִּי חָפֵץ בּוֹ.
gol el-YHWH yefal'tehu; yatzilehu, ki chafetz bo.
'Let him commit himself unto the LORD! let Him rescue him; let Him deliver him, seeing He delighteth in him.'
10.
כִּי-אַתָּה גֹחִי מִבָּטֶן; מַבְטִיחִי, עַל-שְׁדֵי אִמִּי.
ki-atah gochi mibaten; mavtichi, al-shede imi.
For Thou art He that took me out of the womb; Thou madest me trust when I was upon my mother's breasts.
11.
עָלֶיךָ, הָשְׁלַכְתִּי מֵרָחֶם; מִבֶּטֶן אִמִּי, אֵלִי אָתָּה.
alecha, hashlachti merachem; mibeten imi, eli atah.
Upon Thee I have been cast from my birth; Thou art my God from my mother's womb.
12.
אַל-תִּרְחַק מִמֶּנִּי, כִּי-צָרָה קְרוֹבָה: כִּי-אֵין עוֹזֵר.
al-tirkhak mimeni, ki-tzarah kerovah: ki-ein ozer.
Be not far from me; for trouble is near; for there is none to help.
13.
סְבָבוּנִי, פָּרִים רַבִּים; אַבִּירֵי בָשָׁן כִּתְּרוּנִי.
sevavuni, parim rabim; abirei vashan kitruni.
Many bulls have encompassed me; strong bulls of Bashan have beset me round.
14.
פָּצוּ עָלַי פִּיהֶם; אַרְיֵה, טֹרֵף וְשֹׁאֵג.
patzu alai pihem; aryeh, toref veshoeg.
They open wide their mouth against me, as a ravening and a roaring lion.
15.
כַּמַּיִם נִשְׁפַּכְתִּי-- וְהִתְפָּרְדוּ, כָּל-עַצְמוֹתָי:הָיָה לִבִּי, כַּדּוֹנָג; נָמֵס, בְּתוֹךְ מֵעָי.
kammayim nishpakti-- vehitparedu, kol-atzmotay: hayyah libbi, kaddoneg; names, betokh me'ay.
I am poured out like water, and all my bones are out of joint; my heart is become like wax; it is melted in mine inmost parts.
16.
יָבֵשׁ כַּחֶרֶשׂ, כֹּחִי, וּלְשׁוֹנִי, מֻדְבָּק מַלְקוֹחָי; וְלַעֲפַר-מָוֶת תִּשְׁפְּתֵנִי.
yavesh kakheresh kokhi uleshoni mudbak malkhokhay vela'afar-mavet tishpeteni.
My strength is dried up like a potsherd; and my tongue cleaveth to my throat; and Thou layest me in the dust of death.
17.
כִּי סְבָבוּנִי, כְּלָבִים: עֲדַת מְרֵעִים, הִקִּיפוּנִי; כָּאֲרִי, יָדַי וְרַגְלָי.
ki sevavuni kelavim edat mere'im hiqifuni ka'ari yaday veraglay.
For dogs have encompassed me; a company of evil-doers have inclosed me; like a lion, they are at my hands and my feet.
18.
אֲסַפֵּר כָּל-עַצְמוֹתָי; הֵמָּה יַבִּיטוּ, יִרְאוּ-בִי.
asaper kol-atzmotay hemah yabitu yir'u-vi.
I may count all my bones; they look and gloat over me.
19.
יְחַלְּקוּ בְגָדַי לָהֶם; וְעַל-לְבוּשִׁי, יַפִּילוּ גוֹרָל.
yekhalqu vegaday lahem ve'al-levushi yapilu goral.
They part my garments among them, and for my vesture do they cast lots.
20.
וְאַתָּה יְהוָה, אַל-תִּרְחָק; אֱיָלוּתִי, לְעֶזְרָתִי חוּשָׁה.
Ve'atah YHWH, al-tirkhak; eyaluti, le'ezrati khushah.
But Thou, O LORD, be not far off; O Thou my strength, hasten to help me.
21.
הַצִּילָה מֵחֶרֶב נַפְשִׁי; מִיַּד-כֶּלֶב, יְחִידָתִי.
Hatzilah mekherev nafshi; miyad-kelev, yekhidati.
Deliver my soul from the sword; mine only one from the power of the dog.
22.
הוֹשִׁיעֵנִי, מִפִּי אַרְיֵה; וּמִקַּרְנֵי רֵמִים עֲנִיתָנִי.
Hoshie'ni, mipi aryeh; umikarnei remim anitani.
Save me from the lion's mouth; yea, from the horns of the wild-oxen do Thou answer me.
23.
אֲסַפְּרָה שִׁמְךָ לְאֶחָי; בְּתוֹךְ קָהָל אֲהַלְלֶךָּ.
Asaprah shimkha le'akhay; betokh kahal ahallekka.
I will declare Thy name unto my brethren; in the midst of the congregation will I praise Thee.
24.
יִרְאֵי יְהוָה, הַלְלוּהוּ-- כָּל-זֶרַע יַעֲקֹב כַּבְּדוּהוּ;וְגוּרוּ מִמֶּנּוּ, כָּל-זֶרַע יִשְׂרָאֵל.
Yir'ei YHWH, halluhu-- kol-zera Ya'akov kabduhu; veguru mimmennu, kol-zera Yisrael.
'Ye that fear the LORD, praise Him; all ye the seed of Jacob, glorify Him; and stand in awe of Him, all ye the seed of Israel.
25.
כִּי לֹא-בָזָה וְלֹא שִׁקַּץ, עֱנוּת עָנִי-- וְלֹא-הִסְתִּיר פָּנָיו מִמֶּנּוּ;וּבְשַׁוְּעוֹ אֵלָיו שָׁמֵעַ.
Ki lo-vazah velo shiqatz, enut ani-- velo-histir paniv mimmennu; uveshav'o elav shamea.
For He hath not despised nor abhorred the lowliness of the poor; neither hath He hid His face from him; but when he cried unto Him, He heard.'
26.
מֵאִתְּךָ, תְּהִלָּתִי: בְּקָהָל רָב--נְדָרַי אֲשַׁלֵּם, נֶגֶד יְרֵאָיו.
Me'ittakha, tehillati: beqahal rav-- nedarai ashallem, neged yere'av.
From Thee cometh my praise in the great congregation; I will pay my vows before them that fear Him.
27.
יֹאכְלוּ עֲנָוִים, וְיִשְׂבָּעוּ-- יְהַלְלוּ יְהוָה, דֹּרְשָׁיו;יְחִי לְבַבְכֶם לָעַד.
Yokhlu anavim, veyisba'u-- yehallu YHWH, dorshav; yehi levavkhem la'ad.
Let the humble eat and be satisfied; let them praise the LORD that seek after Him; may your heart be quickened for ever!
28.
יִזְכְּרוּ, וְיָשֻׁבוּ אֶל-יְהוָה-- כָּל-אַפְסֵי-אָרֶץ;וְיִשְׁתַּחֲווּ לְפָנֶיךָ, כָּל-מִשְׁפְּחוֹת גּוֹיִם.
yizkeru, veyashuvu el-YHWH-- kol-afsei-aretz; veyishtachavu lefanekha, kol-mishpechot goyim.
All the ends of the earth shall remember and turn unto the LORD; and all the kindreds of the nations shall worship before Thee.
29.
כִּי לַיהוָה, הַמְּלוּכָה; וּמֹשֵׁל, בַּגּוֹיִם.
ki laYHWH, hammelukha; umoshel, baggoyim.
For the kingdom is the LORD'S; and He is the ruler over the nations.
30.
אָכְלוּ וַיִּשְׁתַּחֲווּ, כָּל-דִּשְׁנֵי-אֶרֶץ-- לְפָנָיו יִכְרְעוּ, כָּל-יוֹרְדֵי עָפָר;וְנַפְשׁוֹ, לֹא חִיָּה.
akhlu vayishtachavu, kol-dishnei-eretz-- lefanav yikhreu, kol-yorede afar; venafsho, lo chippah.
All the fat ones of the earth shall eat and worship; all they that go down to the dust shall kneel before Him, even he that cannot keep his soul alive.
31.
זֶרַע יַעַבְדֶנּוּ; יְסֻפַּר לַאדֹנָי לַדּוֹר.
zera ya'avdennu; yisuppar la'Adonai laddor.
A seed shall serve him; it shall be told of the Lord unto the next generation.
32.
יָבֹאוּ, וְיַגִּידוּ צִדְקָתוֹ: לְעַם נוֹלָד, כִּי עָשָׂה.
yavo'u veyaggidu tzidkato le'am nolad ki asah.
They shall come and shall declare His righteousness unto a people that shall be born, that He hath done it.
