שִׁיר, הַמַּעֲלוֹת:זְכוֹר-יְהוָה לְדָוִד-- אֵת, כָּל-עֻנּוֹתוֹ.

אֲשֶׁר נִשְׁבַּע, לַיהוָה; נָדַר, לַאֲבִיר יַעֲקֹב.
Asher nishba, laYHWH; nadar, la'avir Ya'akov.
How he swore unto the LORD, and vowed unto the Mighty One of Jacob:
3.
אִם-אָבֹא, בְּאֹהֶל בֵּיתִי; אִם-אֶעֱלֶה, עַל-עֶרֶשׂ יְצוּעָי.
Im-avo, be'ohel beyti; im-e'eleh, al-eres ytsu'ay.
'Surely I will not come into the tent of my house, nor go up into the bed that is spread for me;

אִם אֶתֵּן שְׁנַת לְעֵינָי; לְעַפְעַפַּי תְּנוּמָה.
Im etten shenat le'enay; le'af'apay tenumah.
I will not give sleep to mine eyes, nor slumber to mine eyelids;
5.
עַד-אֶמְצָא מָקוֹם, לַיהוָה; מִשְׁכָּנוֹת, לַאֲבִיר יַעֲקֹב.
Ad-emtza makom, laAdonai; mishkanot, la'avir Ya'akov.
Until I find out a place for the LORD, a dwelling-place for the Mighty One of Jacob.'

הִנֵּה-שְׁמַעֲנוּהָ בְאֶפְרָתָה; מְצָאנוּהָ, בִּשְׂדֵי-יָעַר.
Hinneh-shema'unuha ve'Efratah; metza'unuha, bisdei-ya'ar.
Lo, we heard of it as being in Ephrath; we found it in the field of the wood.
7.
נָבוֹאָה לְמִשְׁכְּנוֹתָיו; נִשְׁתַּחֲוֶה, לַהֲדֹם רַגְלָיו.
Navo'ah lemishkenotav; nishtachaveh, lahadom raglav.
Let us go into His dwelling-place; let us worship at His footstool.
8.
קוּמָה יְהוָה, לִמְנוּחָתֶךָ: אַתָּה, וַאֲרוֹן עֻזֶּךָ.
kumah YHWH, limnuhathekha: attah, va'aron uzzekha.
Arise, O LORD, unto Thy resting-place; Thou, and the ark of Thy strength.
9.
כֹּהֲנֶיךָ יִלְבְּשׁוּ-צֶדֶק; וַחֲסִידֶיךָ יְרַנֵּנוּ.
kohenekha yilbeshu-tzedek; vahasideykha yerannenu.
Let Thy priests be clothed with righteousness; and let Thy saints shout for joy.
10.
בַּעֲבוּר, דָּוִד עַבְדֶּךָ-- אַל-תָּשֵׁב, פְּנֵי מְשִׁיחֶךָ.
ba'avur, David avdekha-- al-tashev, penei meshikhekha.
For Thy servant David's sake turn not away the face of Thine anointed.
11.
נִשְׁבַּע-יְהוָה, לְדָוִד אֱמֶת-- לֹא-יָשׁוּב מִמֶּנָּה:מִפְּרִי בִטְנְךָ-- אָשִׁית, לְכִסֵּא-לָךְ.
nishba-YHWH, leDavid emet-- lo-yashuv mimmenna: mipri vitnekha-- ashit, likkese-lakh.
The LORD swore unto David in truth; He will not turn back from it: 'Of the fruit of thy body will I set upon thy throne.
12.
אִם-יִשְׁמְרוּ בָנֶיךָ, בְּרִיתִי-- וְעֵדֹתִי זוֹ, אֲלַמְּדֵם:גַּם-בְּנֵיהֶם עֲדֵי-עַד-- יֵשְׁבוּ, לְכִסֵּא-לָךְ.
im-yishmeru vanekha, beriti-- ve'edoti zo, alamdem: gam-benehem adei-ad-- yeshevu, lekisse-lakh.
If thy children keep My covenant and My testimony that I shall teach them, their children also for ever shall sit upon thy throne.'
13.
כִּי-בָחַר יְהוָה בְּצִיּוֹן; אִוָּהּ, לְמוֹשָׁב לוֹ.
ki-vachar YHWH betziyon; ivvah, lemoshav lo.
For the LORD hath chosen Zion; He hath desired it for His habitation:
14.
זֹאת-מְנוּחָתִי עֲדֵי-עַד: פֹּה-אֵשֵׁב, כִּי אִוִּתִיהָ.
zot-menuchati adei-ad: po-eshev, ki ivvitih.
'This is My resting-place for ever; here will I dwell; for I have desired it.
15.
צֵידָהּ, בָּרֵךְ אֲבָרֵךְ; אֶבְיוֹנֶיהָ, אַשְׂבִּיעַ לָחֶם.
tseidah, barekh avarekh; evyoneha, ashbi'a lachem.
I will abundantly bless her provision; I will give her needy bread in plenty.
16.
וְכֹהֲנֶיהָ, אַלְבִּישׁ יֶשַׁע; וַחֲסִידֶיהָ, רַנֵּן יְרַנֵּנוּ.
vekhoheneha albish yesha vachasideha ranen yeranenu.
Her priests also will I clothe with salvation; and her saints shall shout aloud for joy.
17.
שָׁם אַצְמִיחַ קֶרֶן לְדָוִד; עָרַכְתִּי נֵר, לִמְשִׁיחִי.
sham atzmiach keren ledavid; arakhti ner limshichi.
There will I make a horn to shoot up unto David, there have I ordered a lamp for Mine anointed.
18.
אוֹיְבָיו, אַלְבִּישׁ בֹּשֶׁת; וְעָלָיו, יָצִיץ נִזְרוֹ.
oyevav albish boshet; vealayo yatitz nizro.
His enemies will I clothe with shame; but upon himself shall his crown shine.'
