אֲשֶׁר הָיָה דְבַר-יְהוָה אֶל-יִרְמְיָהוּ הַנָּבִיא, אֶל-פְּלִשְׁתִּים, בְּטֶרֶם יַכֶּה פַרְעֹה, אֶת-עַזָּה.
asher hayah devar-YHWH el-Yirmeyahu hanavi, el-pelishtim, beterem yakkeh Far'oh, et-'azzah.
The word of the LORD that came to Jeremiah the prophet concerning the Philistines, before that Pharaoh smote Gaza.

כֹּה אָמַר יְהוָה, הִנֵּה-מַיִם עֹלִים מִצָּפוֹן וְהָיוּ לְנַחַל שׁוֹטֵף, וְיִשְׁטְפוּ אֶרֶץ וּמְלוֹאָהּ, עִיר וְיֹשְׁבֵי בָהּ; וְזָעֲקוּ, הָאָדָם, וְהֵילִל, כֹּל יוֹשֵׁב הָאָרֶץ.
koh amar YHWH, hinneh-mayim olim mitzafon vehayu lenachal shotef, veyishtefu eretz umeloah, ir veyoshevi vah; vezaqu, haadam, vehelel, kol yoshev haaretz.
Thus saith the LORD: behold, waters rise up out of the north, and shall become an overflowing stream, and they shall overflow the land and all that is therein, the city and them that dwell therein; and the men shall cry, and all the inhabitants of the land shall wail.

מִקּוֹל, שַׁעֲטַת פַּרְסוֹת אַבִּירָיו, מֵרַעַשׁ לְרִכְבּוֹ, הֲמוֹן גַּלְגִּלָּיו--לֹא-הִפְנוּ אָבוֹת אֶל-בָּנִים, מֵרִפְיוֹן יָדָיִם.
miqol, sha'atat parsot abirav, merash lerkhbo, hamon galgillav--lo-hiphnu avot el-banim, meriphyon yadayim.
At the noise of the stamping of the hoofs of his strong ones, at the rushing of his chariots, at the rumbling of his wheels, the fathers look not back to their children for feebleness of hands;

עַל-הַיּוֹם, הַבָּא לִשְׁדוֹד אֶת-כָּל-פְּלִשְׁתִּים, לְהַכְרִית לְצֹר וּלְצִידוֹן, כֹּל שָׂרִיד עֹזֵר: כִּי-שֹׁדֵד יְהוָה אֶת-פְּלִשְׁתִּים, שְׁאֵרִית אִי כַפְתּוֹר.
al-hayom, haba lishdod et-kol-pelishtim, lekhrit letzor uletzidon, kol sarid ozer: ki-shoded YHWH et-pelishtim, sheerit i khaftor.
Because of the day that cometh to spoil all the Philistines, to cut off from Tyre and Zidon every helper that remaineth; for the LORD will spoil the Philistines, the remnant of the isle of Caphtor.

בָּאָה קָרְחָה אֶל-עַזָּה, נִדְמְתָה אַשְׁקְלוֹן שְׁאֵרִית עִמְקָם; עַד-מָתַי, תִּתְגּוֹדָדִי.
baah qarhah el-azah, nidmetah ashqelon sheerit imqam; ad-matay, titgodadi.
Baldness is come upon Gaza, Ashkelon is brought to nought, the remnant of their valley; how long wilt thou cut thyself?
6.
הוֹי, חֶרֶב לַיהוָה, עַד-אָנָה, לֹא תִשְׁקֹטִי; הֵאָסְפִי, אֶל-תַּעְרֵךְ--הֵרָגְעִי, וָדֹמִּי.
Hoy, kherev laYHWH, ad-anah, lo tishqoti; he'asfi, el-ta'rekh--heragei, vadomi.
O thou sword of the LORD, how long will it be ere thou be quiet? Put up thyself into thy scabbard, rest, and be still.
7.
אֵיךְ תִּשְׁקֹטִי, וַיהוָה צִוָּה-לָהּ: אֶל-אַשְׁקְלוֹן וְאֶל-חוֹף הַיָּם, שָׁם יְעָדָהּ.
Eikh tishqoti, vaYHWH tzivah-lah: el-ashqolon ve'el-khof hayam, sham ye'adah.
How canst thou be quiet? for the LORD hath given it a charge; against Ashkelon, and against the sea-shore, there hath He appointed it.
