1.
וַיִּזְכֹּר אֱלֹהִים, אֶת-נֹחַ, וְאֵת כָּל-הַחַיָּה וְאֶת-כָּל-הַבְּהֵמָה, אֲשֶׁר אִתּוֹ בַּתֵּבָה; וַיַּעֲבֵר אֱלֹהִים רוּחַ עַל-הָאָרֶץ, וַיָּשֹׁכּוּ הַמָּיִם.
vayizkor Elohim, et-Noach, ve'et kol-hachayah ve'et-kol-habehemah, asher ito batevah; vaya'aver Elohim ruach al-ha'aretz, vayashoku hamayim.
And God remembered Noah, and every living thing, and all the cattle that were with him in the ark; and God made a wind to pass over the earth, and the waters assuaged;
2.
וַיִּסָּכְרוּ מַעְיְנֹת תְּהוֹם, וַאֲרֻבֹּת הַשָּׁמָיִם; וַיִּכָּלֵא הַגֶּשֶׁם, מִן-הַשָּׁמָיִם.
vayisacharu ma'yenot tehom, va'arubot hashamayim; vayikale hageshem, min-hashamayim.
the fountains also of the deep and the windows of heaven were stopped, and the rain from heaven was restrained.

וַיָּשֻׁבוּ הַמַּיִם מֵעַל הָאָרֶץ, הָלוֹךְ וָשׁוֹב; וַיַּחְסְרוּ הַמַּיִם--מִקְצֵה, חֲמִשִּׁים וּמְאַת יוֹם.
vayashuvu hamayim me'al ha'aretz, haloch vashov; vayachseru hamayim--miktzeh, chamishim um'at yom.
And the waters returned from off the earth continually; and after the end of a hundred and fifty days the waters decreased.
4.
וַתָּנַח הַתֵּבָה בַּחֹדֶשׁ הַשְּׁבִיעִי, בְּשִׁבְעָה-עָשָׂר יוֹם לַחֹדֶשׁ, עַל, הָרֵי אֲרָרָט.
vattanach hatevah bachodesh hashvi'i beshiv'ah-asar yom lachodesh al hare ararat
And the ark rested in the seventh month, on the seventeenth day of the month, upon the mountains of Ararat.

וְהַמַּיִם, הָיוּ הָלוֹךְ וְחָסוֹר, עַד, הַחֹדֶשׁ הָעֲשִׂירִי; בָּעֲשִׂירִי בְּאֶחָד לַחֹדֶשׁ, נִרְאוּ רָאשֵׁי הֶהָרִים.
ve'hamayim hayu haloch ve'chasor ad ha'chodesh ha'asiri ba'asiri be'echad la'chodesh nir'u rashei he'harim
And the waters decreased continually until the tenth month; in the tenth month, on the first day of the month, were the tops of the mountains seen.
6.
וַיְהִי, מִקֵּץ אַרְבָּעִים יוֹם; וַיִּפְתַּח נֹחַ, אֶת-חַלּוֹן הַתֵּבָה אֲשֶׁר עָשָׂה.
vayhi miqetz arba'im yom; vayiftach Noach, et-challon hatevah asher asah.
And it came to pass at the end of forty days, that Noah opened the window of the ark which he had made.
7.
וַיְשַׁלַּח, אֶת-הָעֹרֵב; וַיֵּצֵא יָצוֹא וָשׁוֹב, עַד-יְבֹשֶׁת הַמַּיִם מֵעַל הָאָרֶץ.
vayshalach, et-ha'orev; vayetse yatsou vashov, ad-yevoshet hamayim me'al ha'aretz.
And he sent forth a raven, and it went forth to and fro, until the waters were dried up from off the earth.
8.
וַיְשַׁלַּח אֶת-הַיּוֹנָה, מֵאִתּוֹ--לִרְאוֹת הֲקַלּוּ הַמַּיִם, מֵעַל פְּנֵי הָאֲדָמָה.
vay'shalach et-hayonah me'ito lir'ot hekalu hamayim me'al penei ha'adamah
And he sent forth a dove from him, to see if the waters were abated from off the face of the ground.
9.
וְלֹא-מָצְאָה הַיּוֹנָה מָנוֹחַ לְכַף-רַגְלָהּ, וַתָּשָׁב אֵלָיו אֶל-הַתֵּבָה--כִּי-מַיִם, עַל-פְּנֵי כָל-הָאָרֶץ; וַיִּשְׁלַח יָדוֹ וַיִּקָּחֶהָ, וַיָּבֵא אֹתָהּ אֵלָיו אֶל-הַתֵּבָה.
ve'lo matz'ah hayonah manoach lechaf raglah, vattashav elav el hatevah - ki mayim, al penei chol ha'aretz; vayishlach yado vayikkacheha, vayave ota elav el hatevah.
But the dove found no rest for the sole of her foot, and she returned unto him to the ark, for the waters were on the face of the whole earth; and he put forth his hand, and took her, and brought her in unto him into the ark.
10.
וַיָּחֶל עוֹד, שִׁבְעַת יָמִים אֲחֵרִים; וַיֹּסֶף שַׁלַּח אֶת-הַיּוֹנָה, מִן-הַתֵּבָה.
vayachel od, shiv'at yamim acheirim; ve'yosef shalach et-ha'yonah, min-ha'tevah.
And he stayed yet other seven days; and again he sent forth the dove out of the ark.
11.
וַתָּבֹא אֵלָיו הַיּוֹנָה לְעֵת עֶרֶב, וְהִנֵּה עֲלֵה-זַיִת טָרָף בְּפִיהָ; וַיֵּדַע נֹחַ, כִּי-קַלּוּ הַמַּיִם מֵעַל הָאָרֶץ.
vattavo elav hayyonah le'et erev, vehinneh aleh-zayit taraf befih; vayyeda noach, ki-qallu hammayim me'al ha'aretz.
And the dove came in to him at eventide; and lo in her mouth an olive-leaf freshly plucked; so Noah knew that the waters were abated from off the earth.
12.
וַיִּיָּחֶל עוֹד, שִׁבְעַת יָמִים אֲחֵרִים; וַיְשַׁלַּח, אֶת-הַיּוֹנָה, וְלֹא-יָסְפָה שׁוּב-אֵלָיו, עוֹד.
vayiyachel od, shiv'at yamim acherim; ve'yeshalach, et-hayonah, velo-yasafah shuv-elav, od.
And he stayed yet other seven days; and sent forth the dove; and she returned not again unto him any more.
13.
וַיְהִי בְּאַחַת וְשֵׁשׁ-מֵאוֹת שָׁנָה, בָּרִאשׁוֹן בְּאֶחָד לַחֹדֶשׁ, חָרְבוּ הַמַּיִם, מֵעַל הָאָרֶץ; וַיָּסַר נֹחַ, אֶת-מִכְסֵה הַתֵּבָה, וַיַּרְא, וְהִנֵּה חָרְבוּ פְּנֵי הָאֲדָמָה.
vayhi be'achat v'shesh-me'ot shanah, barishon be'echad lachodesh, charevu hamayim, me'al ha'aretz; vayasar Noach, et-michseh hatevah, vayar, vehineh charevu penei ha'adamah.
And it came to pass in the six hundred and first year, in the first month, the first day of the month, the waters were dried up from off the earth; and Noah removed the covering of the ark, and looked, and behold, the face of the ground was dried.
14.
וּבַחֹדֶשׁ, הַשֵּׁנִי, בְּשִׁבְעָה וְעֶשְׂרִים יוֹם, לַחֹדֶשׁ--יָבְשָׁה, הָאָרֶץ.
u'vachodesh hasheni beshivah ve'esrim yom lachodesh yaveshah ha'aretz
And in the second month, on the seven and twentieth day of the month, was the earth dry.
15.
וַיְדַבֵּר אֱלֹהִים, אֶל-נֹחַ לֵאמֹר.
vaydabber Elohim, el-Noach lemor.
And God spoke unto Noah, saying:
16.
צֵא, מִן-הַתֵּבָה--אַתָּה, וְאִשְׁתְּךָ וּבָנֶיךָ וּנְשֵׁי-בָנֶיךָ אִתָּךְ.
tse, min-hatevah--atah, ve'ishtekha uvanekha uneshei-vanekha itakh.
'Go forth from the ark, thou, and thy wife, and thy sons, and thy sons' wives with thee.
17.
כָּל-הַחַיָּה אֲשֶׁר-אִתְּךָ מִכָּל-בָּשָׂר, בָּעוֹף וּבַבְּהֵמָה וּבְכָל-הָרֶמֶשׂ הָרֹמֵשׂ עַל-הָאָרֶץ--הוצא הַיְצֵא אִתָּךְ; וְשָׁרְצוּ בָאָרֶץ, וּפָרוּ וְרָבוּ עַל-הָאָרֶץ.
kol-hachayah asher-it'cha mikol-basar, ba'of u'vabehemah u'vechol-ha'remes ha'romes al-ha'aretz--hotzeh haytzeh it'ach; ve'shartzu va'aretz, u'faru ve'ravu al-
Bring forth with thee every living thing that is with thee of all flesh, both fowl, and cattle, and every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth; that they may swarm in the earth, and be fruitful, and multiply upon the earth.'
18.
וַיֵּצֵא-נֹחַ; וּבָנָיו וְאִשְׁתּוֹ וּנְשֵׁי-בָנָיו, אִתּוֹ.
vayetse noach uvanav ve'eshto uneshey-banav ito
And Noah went forth, and his sons, and his wife, and his sons' wives with him;
19.
כָּל-הַחַיָּה, כָּל-הָרֶמֶשׂ וְכָל-הָעוֹף, כֹּל, רוֹמֵשׂ עַל-הָאָרֶץ--לְמִשְׁפְּחֹתֵיהֶם, יָצְאוּ מִן-הַתֵּבָה.
kol-ha'chayah, kol-ha'remes ve'chol-ha'of, kol, romes al-ha'aretz--le'mishpechotehem, yats'u min-ha'tevah.
every beast, every creeping thing, and every fowl, whatsoever moveth upon the earth, after their families; went forth out of the ark.
20.
וַיִּבֶן נֹחַ מִזְבֵּחַ, לַיהוָה; וַיִּקַּח מִכֹּל הַבְּהֵמָה הַטְּהֹרָה, וּמִכֹּל הָעוֹף הַטָּהוֹר, וַיַּעַל עֹלֹת, בַּמִּזְבֵּחַ.
vayiven Noach mizbe'ach, la'Adonai; vayikach mikol habehemah hatehorah, umikol ha'of hatahor, vaya'al olot, bamizbe'ach.
And Noah builded an altar unto the LORD; and took of every clean beast, and of every clean fowl, and offered burnt-offerings on the altar.
21.
וַיָּרַח יְהוָה, אֶת-רֵיחַ הַנִּיחֹחַ, וַיֹּאמֶר יְהוָה אֶל-לִבּוֹ לֹא-אֹסִף לְקַלֵּל עוֹד אֶת-הָאֲדָמָה בַּעֲבוּר הָאָדָם, כִּי יֵצֶר לֵב הָאָדָם רַע מִנְּעֻרָיו; וְלֹא-אֹסִף עוֹד לְהַכּוֹת אֶת-כָּל-חַי, כַּאֲשֶׁר עָשִׂיתִי.
vayarach YHWH et-reach hani'ach, v'yomer YHWH el-libo lo-osif l'kallel od et-ha'adamah ba'avur ha'adam, ki yetzer lev ha'adam ra min'urariv; v'lo-osif od l'hakot et-kol-
And the LORD smelled the sweet savour; and the LORD said in His heart: 'I will not again curse the ground any more for man's sake; for the imagination of man's heart is evil from his youth; neither will I again smite any more every thing living, as I have done.
22.
עֹד, כָּל-יְמֵי הָאָרֶץ: זֶרַע וְקָצִיר וְקֹר וָחֹם וְקַיִץ וָחֹרֶף, וְיוֹם וָלַיְלָה--לֹא יִשְׁבֹּתוּ.
od kol-yeme ha'aretz zera ve'katsir ve'kor va'chom ve'kayits va'choref ve'yom va'layla lo yishbotu
While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.'
