1.
וַיִּקְרָא בְאָזְנַי, קוֹל גָּדוֹל לֵאמֹר, קָרְבוּ, פְּקֻדּוֹת הָעִיר; וְאִישׁ כְּלִי מַשְׁחֵתוֹ, בְּיָדוֹ.
vayikra ve'oznay, kol gadol lemor, karevu, pequdot ha'ir; ve'ish keli mashheto, beyado.
Then he called in mine ears with a loud voice, saying: 'Cause ye them that have charge over the city to draw near, every man with his destroying weapon in his hand.'
2.
וְהִנֵּה שִׁשָּׁה אֲנָשִׁים בָּאִים מִדֶּרֶךְ-שַׁעַר הָעֶלְיוֹן אֲשֶׁר מָפְנֶה צָפוֹנָה, וְאִישׁ כְּלִי מַפָּצוֹ בְּיָדוֹ, וְאִישׁ-אֶחָד בְּתוֹכָם לָבֻשׁ בַּדִּים, וְקֶסֶת הַסֹּפֵר בְּמָתְנָיו; וַיָּבֹאוּ, וַיַּעַמְדוּ, אֵצֶל, מִזְבַּח הַנְּחֹשֶׁת.
vehineh shishah anashim ba'im miderekh-sha'ar ha'elyon asher mafneh tzafonah, ve'ish keli mafatzo beyado, ve'ish-echad betokham lavush baddim, veqeset hassofer bematnav; vayavo'u, vaya'amdu, etzel, mizbeach hanchoshet.
And, behold, six men came from the way of the upper gate, which lieth toward the north, every man with his weapon of destruction in his hand; and one man in the midst of them clothed in linen, with a writer's inkhorn on his side. And they went in, and stood beside the brazen altar.

וּכְבוֹד אֱלֹהֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל, נַעֲלָה מֵעַל הַכְּרוּב אֲשֶׁר הָיָה עָלָיו, אֶל, מִפְתַּן הַבָּיִת; וַיִּקְרָא, אֶל-הָאִישׁ הַלָּבֻשׁ הַבַּדִּים, אֲשֶׁר קֶסֶת הַסֹּפֵר, בְּמָתְנָיו.
ukhevod Elohei Yisrael, na'alah me'al hakeruv asher hayah alayv, el, miftan habayit; vayikra, el-ha'ish hallavush habaddim, asher qeset hassofer, bematnav.
And the glory of the God of Israel was gone up from the cherub, whereupon it was, to the threshold of the house; and He called to the man clothed in linen, who had the writer's inkhorn on his side.

וַיֹּאמֶר יְהוָה, אֵלָו, עֲבֹר בְּתוֹךְ הָעִיר, בְּתוֹךְ יְרוּשָׁלִָם; וְהִתְוִיתָ תָּו עַל-מִצְחוֹת הָאֲנָשִׁים, הַנֶּאֱנָחִים וְהַנֶּאֱנָקִים, עַל כָּל-הַתּוֹעֵבוֹת, הַנַּעֲשׂוֹת בְּתוֹכָהּ.
vayomer YHWH, elav, avor betokh ha'ir, betokh Yerushalayim; vehitvita tav al-mitzchot ha'anashim, hanne'anachim vehanne'anaqim, al kol-hatto'evot, hanna'asot betokhah.
And the LORD said unto him: 'Go through the midst of the city, through the midst of Jerusalem, and set a mark upon the foreheads of the men that sigh and that cry for all the abominations that are done in the midst thereof.'

וּלְאֵלֶּה אָמַר בְּאָזְנַי, עִבְרוּ בָעִיר אַחֲרָיו וְהַכּוּ: על- אַל- תָּחֹס עיניכם עֵינְכֶם, וְאַל-תַּחְמֹלוּ.
u'le'eleh amar be'oznay, ivru va'ir acharav vehaku: al- al- tachos eyneichem eyneichem, ve'al- tachmolu.
And to the others He said in my hearing: 'Go ye through the city after him, and smite; let not your eye spare, neither have ye pity;

זָקֵן בָּחוּר וּבְתוּלָה וְטַף וְנָשִׁים תַּהַרְגוּ לְמַשְׁחִית, וְעַל-כָּל-אִישׁ אֲשֶׁר-עָלָיו הַתָּו אַל-תִּגַּשׁוּ, וּמִמִּקְדָּשִׁי, תָּחֵלּוּ; וַיָּחֵלּוּ בָּאֲנָשִׁים הַזְּקֵנִים, אֲשֶׁר לִפְנֵי הַבָּיִת.
zaken bachur uvetulah vetaf venashim tahargu lemaschit, ve'al-kol-ish asher-alav hatav al-tigashu, umimikdashi, tachelu; vayachelu ba'anashim hazkenim, asher lifnei habayit.
slay utterly the old man, the young man and the maiden, and little children and women; but come not near any man upon whom is the mark; and begin at My sanctuary.' Then they began at the elders that were before the house.

וַיֹּאמֶר אֲלֵיהֶם טַמְּאוּ אֶת-הַבַּיִת, וּמַלְאוּ אֶת-הַחֲצֵרוֹת חֲלָלִים--צֵאוּ; וְיָצְאוּ, וְהִכּוּ בָעִיר.
vayomer alehem tam'u et-habayit, umal'u et-hachazerot chalalim--tse'u; veyats'u, vehiku va'ir.
And He said unto them: 'Defile the house, and fill the courts with the slain; go ye forth.' And they went forth, and smote in the city.

וַיְהִי, כְּהַכּוֹתָם, וְנֵאשְׁאַר, אָנִי; וָאֶפְּלָה עַל-פָּנַי וָאֶזְעַק, וָאֹמַר אֲהָהּ אֲדֹנָי יְהוִה, הֲמַשְׁחִית אַתָּה אֵת כָּל-שְׁאֵרִית יִשְׂרָאֵל, בְּשָׁפְכְּךָ אֶת-חֲמָתְךָ עַל-יְרוּשָׁלִָם.
vayhi, kehakotam, vene'ishar, ani; va'eppelah al-panay va'ez'ak, va'omar ahah Adonai YHWH, hemashchit atah et kol-she'erit Yisrael, beshafkecha et-chamatecha al-Yerushalayim.
And it came to pass, while they were smiting, and I was left, that I fell upon my face, and cried, and said: 'Ah Lord GOD! wilt Thou destroy all the residue of Israel in Thy pouring out of Thy fury upon Jerusalem?'

וַיֹּאמֶר אֵלַי, עֲוֺן בֵּית-יִשְׂרָאֵל וִיהוּדָה גָּדוֹל בִּמְאֹד מְאֹד, וַתִּמָּלֵא הָאָרֶץ דָּמִים, וְהָעִיר מָלְאָה מֻטֶּה: כִּי אָמְרוּ, עָזַב יְהוָה אֶת-הָאָרֶץ, וְאֵין יְהוָה, רֹאֶה.
vayomer elay, avon beit-yisrael vihudah gadol bimod meod, vatimale haaretz damim, vehair malah muteh: ki amru, azav YHWH et-haaretz, veein YHWH, roeh.
Then said He unto me: 'The iniquity of the house of Israel and Judah is exceeding great, and the land is full of blood, and the city full of wresting of judgment; for they say: The LORD hath forsaken the land, and the LORD seeth not.
10.
וְגַם-אֲנִי--לֹא-תָחוֹס עֵינִי, וְלֹא אֶחְמֹל; דַּרְכָּם, בְּרֹאשָׁם נָתָתִּי.
vegam-ani--lo-thakhos eini, velo akhmol; darkam, berosham natati.
And as for Me also, Mine eye shall not spare, neither will I have pity, but I will bring their way upon their head.'
11.
וְהִנֵּה הָאִישׁ לְבֻשׁ הַבַּדִּים, אֲשֶׁר הַקֶּסֶת בְּמָתְנָיו, מֵשִׁיב דָּבָר, לֵאמֹר: עָשִׂיתִי, כאשר כְּכֹל אֲשֶׁר צִוִּיתָנִי.
vehine haish levush habadim, asher haqeset bematnav, meshiv davar, lemor: ashiti, kekhol asher tzivitani.
And, behold, the man clothed in linen, who had the inkhorn on his side, reported, saying: 'I have done according to all that Thou hast commanded me.'
