וַיְהִי דְבַר-יְהוָה, אֵלַי לֵאמֹר.
vayhi devar-YHWH, elay lemor.
And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying:
2.
בֶּן-אָדָם, שִׂים פָּנֶיךָ אֶל-הָרֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל; וְהִנָּבֵא, אֲלֵיהֶם.
ben-adam, sim panekha el-harei Yisrael; vehinnavei, aleihem.
'Son of man, set thy face toward the mountains of Israel, and prophesy against them,
3.
וְאָמַרְתָּ--הָרֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל, שִׁמְעוּ דְּבַר-אֲדֹנָי יְהוִה: כֹּה-אָמַר אֲדֹנָי יְהוִה לֶהָרִים וְלַגְּבָעוֹת לָאֲפִיקִים ולגיאות וְלַגֵּיאָיוֹת, הִנְנִי אֲנִי מֵבִיא עֲלֵיכֶם חֶרֶב, וְאִבַּדְתִּי, בָּמוֹתֵיכֶם.
ve'amarta--harei Yisrael, shim'u devar-Adonai YHwi: koh-amar Adonai YHwi leharim velageva'ot la'afikim velagei'ayot, hinni ani mevi aleikhem cherev, ve'ibadti, bamoteikhem.
and say: Ye mountains of Israel, hear the word of the Lord GOD: Thus saith the Lord GOD concerning the mountains and concerning the hills, concerning the ravines and concerning the valleys: Behold, I, even I, will bring a sword upon you, and I will destroy your high places.

וְנָשַׁמּוּ, מִזְבְּחוֹתֵיכֶם, וְנִשְׁבְּרוּ, חַמָּנֵיכֶם; וְהִפַּלְתִּי, חַלְלֵיכֶם, לִפְנֵי, גִּלּוּלֵיכֶם.
venashammu mizbechotekhem venishberu khammanekhem vehippalti khallelekhem lifnei gillulekhem.
And your altars shall become desolate, and your sun-images shall be broken; and I will cast down your slain men before your idols.
5.
וְנָתַתִּי, אֶת-פִּגְרֵי בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל, לִפְנֵי, גִּלּוּלֵיהֶם; וְזֵרִיתִי, אֶת-עַצְמוֹתֵיכֶם, סְבִיבוֹת, מִזְבְּחוֹתֵיכֶם.
venatatti et-pigrei benei yisrael lifnei gilluleihem uzeriti et-atzmotekhem sevivot mizbechotekhem.
And I will lay the carcasses of the children of Israel before their idols; and I will scatter your bones round about your altars.
6.
בְּכֹל, מוֹשְׁבוֹתֵיכֶם, הֶעָרִים תֶּחֱרַבְנָה, וְהַבָּמוֹת תִּישָׁמְנָה--לְמַעַן יֶחֶרְבוּ וְיֶאְשְׁמוּ מִזְבְּחוֹתֵיכֶם, וְנִשְׁבְּרוּ וְנִשְׁבְּתוּ גִּלּוּלֵיכֶם, וְנִגְדְּעוּ חַמָּנֵיכֶם, וְנִמְחוּ מַעֲשֵׂיכֶם.
bekhol moshvotekhem he'arim tekheravnah vehabot tishamnah lema'an yekhervu veye'shumu mizbechotekhem venishberu venishbetu gilluleikhem veningde'u khammanekhem venimkhu ma'aseikhem.
In all your dwelling-places the cities shall be laid waste, and the high places shall be desolate; that your altars may be laid waste and made desolate, and your idols may be broken and cease, and your sun-images may be hewn down, and your works may be blotted out.
7.
וְנָפַל חָלָל, בְּתוֹכְכֶם; וִידַעְתֶּם, כִּי-אֲנִי יְהוָה.
venafal khalal betokhlekhem viyda'tem ki-ani YHWH.
And the slain shall fall in the midst of you, and ye shall know that I am the LORD.
8.
וְהוֹתַרְתִּי, בִּהְיוֹת לָכֶם פְּלִיטֵי חֶרֶב--בַּגּוֹיִם: בְּהִזָּרוֹתֵיכֶם, בָּאֲרָצוֹת.
vehotarti bihyot lakhem pelitei kherev bagoyim behizaroteikhem ba'aratsot.
Yet will I leave a remnant, in that ye shall have some that escape the sword among the nations, when ye shall be scattered through the countries.
9.
וְזָכְרוּ פְלִיטֵיכֶם אוֹתִי, בַּגּוֹיִם אֲשֶׁר נִשְׁבּוּ-שָׁם, אֲשֶׁר נִשְׁבַּרְתִּי אֶת-לִבָּם הַזּוֹנֶה אֲשֶׁר-סָר מֵעָלַי, וְאֵת עֵינֵיהֶם הַזֹּנוֹת אַחֲרֵי גִּלּוּלֵיהֶם; וְנָקֹטּוּ, בִּפְנֵיהֶם, אֶל-הָרָעוֹת אֲשֶׁר עָשׂוּ, לְכֹל תּוֹעֲבֹתֵיהֶם.
vezakhru peliteikhem oti bagoyim asher nishbu-sham asher nishparti et-libam hazoneh asher-sar me'alai ve'et eineihem hazonot akharei giluleihem venakotu bifneihem el-harakot asher asu lekhol to'avoteihem.
And they that escape of you shall remember Me among the nations whither they shall be carried captives, how that I have been anguished with their straying heart, which hath departed from Me, and with their eyes, which are gone astray after their idols; and they shall loathe themselves in their own sight for the evils which they have committed in all their abominations.
10.
וְיָדְעוּ, כִּי-אֲנִי יְהוָה; לֹא אֶל-חִנָּם דִּבַּרְתִּי, לַעֲשׂוֹת לָהֶם הָרָעָה הַזֹּאת.
veyade'u ki-ani YHWH lo el-khinnam dibarti la'asot lahem hara'ah hazot.
And they shall know that I am the LORD; I have not said in vain that I would do this evil unto them.
11.
כֹּה-אָמַר אֲדֹנָי יְהוִה, הַכֵּה בְכַפְּךָ וּרְקַע בְּרַגְלְךָ וֶאֱמָר-אָח, אֶל כָּל-תּוֹעֲבוֹת רָעוֹת, בֵּית יִשְׂרָאֵל: אֲשֶׁר, בַּחֶרֶב בָּרָעָב וּבַדֶּבֶר--יִפֹּלוּ.
koh-amar Adonai YHWH hake vekhapekha ureka beraglekha ve'emar-akh el kol-to'avot ra'ot beit Yisrael asher bakherev bara'av uvadever yippolu.
Thus saith the Lord GOD: Smite with thy hand, and stamp with thy foot, and say: Alas! because of all the evil abominations of the house of Israel; for they shall fall by the sword, by the famine, and by the pestilence.
12.
הָרָחוֹק בַּדֶּבֶר יָמוּת, וְהַקָּרוֹב בַּחֶרֶב יִפּוֹל, וְהַנִּשְׁאָר וְהַנָּצוּר, בָּרָעָב יָמוּת; וְכִלֵּיתִי חֲמָתִי, בָּם.
ha'rakhok bader yamut, vehakarov bakherev yipol, vehanishar vehanatzur, bara'av yamut; vekhileti khamati, bam.
He that is far off shall die of the pestilence; and he that is near shall fall by the sword; and he that remaineth and is besieged shall die by the famine; thus will I spend My fury upon them.
13.
וִידַעְתֶּם, כִּי-אֲנִי יְהוָה, בִּהְיוֹת חַלְלֵיהֶם בְּתוֹךְ גִּלּוּלֵיהֶם, סְבִיבוֹת מִזְבְּחוֹתֵיהֶם; אֶל כָּל-גִּבְעָה רָמָה בְּכֹל רָאשֵׁי הֶהָרִים, וְתַחַת כָּל-עֵץ רַעֲנָן וְתַחַת כָּל-אֵלָה עֲבֻתָּה, מְקוֹם אֲשֶׁר נָתְנוּ-שָׁם רֵיחַ נִיחֹחַ, לְכֹל גִּלּוּלֵיהֶם.
viydatem, ki-ani YHWH, bihyot khalleihem betokh gilluleihem, sevivot mizbekhoteihem; el kol-giv'ah ramah bekhol rashei heharim, vechakhat kol-etz ra'anan vetakhat kol-elah avutah, mekom asher natnu-sham reyakh nikhoakh, lekhol gilluleihem.
And ye shall know that I am the LORD, when their slain men shall be among their idols round about their altars, upon every high hill, in all the tops of the mountains, and under every leafy tree, and under every thick terebinth, the place where they did offer sweet savour to all their idols.
14.
וְנָטִיתִי אֶת-יָדִי, עֲלֵיהֶם, וְנָתַתִּי אֶת-הָאָרֶץ שְׁמָמָה וּמְשַׁמָּה מִמִּדְבַּר דִּבְלָתָה, בְּכֹל מוֹשְׁבוֹתֵיהֶם; וְיָדְעוּ, כִּי-אֲנִי יְהוָה.
venatiti et-yadi, aleihem, venatati et-ha'aretz shemamah umeshamah mimidbar divlatah, bekhol moshvoteihem; veyade'u, ki-ani YHWH.
And I will stretch out My hand upon them, and make the land desolate and waste, more than the wilderness of Diblah, throughout all their habitations; and they shall know that I am the LORD.'
