1.
וְאַתָּה בֶן-אָדָם קַח-לְךָ חֶרֶב חַדָּה, תַּעַר הַגַּלָּבִים תִּקָּחֶנָּה לָּךְ, וְהַעֲבַרְתָּ עַל-רֹאשְׁךָ, וְעַל-זְקָנֶךָ; וְלָקַחְתָּ לְךָ מֹאזְנֵי מִשְׁקָל, וְחִלַּקְתָּם.
ve'attah ven-adam kakh-lekha kherev khaddah, ta'ar hagallavim tikkachennah lakh, veha'avarta al-roshykha, ve'al-zekanekha; velakhtah lekha mozenei mishkal, vekhillaktam.
And thou, son of man, take thee a sharp sword, as a barber's razor shalt thou take it unto thee, and cause it to pass upon thy head and upon thy beard; then take thee balances to weigh, and divide the hair.
2.
שְׁלִשִׁית, בָּאוּר תַּבְעִיר בְּתוֹךְ הָעִיר, כִּמְלֹאת, יְמֵי הַמָּצוֹר; וְלָקַחְתָּ אֶת-הַשְּׁלִשִׁית, תַּכֶּה בַחֶרֶב סְבִיבוֹתֶיהָ, וְהַשְּׁלִשִׁית תִּזְרֶה לָרוּחַ, וְחֶרֶב אָרִיק אַחֲרֵיהֶם.
shelishit, ba'ur tav'ir betokh ha'ir, kimlot, yemei hammatzor; velakhtah et-hashelishit, takkeh vakherev sevivoteha, vehashelishit tizreh laruakh, vekherev arik akhareihem.
A third part shalt thou burn in the fire in the midst of the city, when the days of the siege are fulfilled; and thou shalt take a third part, and smite it with the sword round about her; and a third part thou shalt scatter to the wind, and I will draw out a sword after them.
3.
וְלָקַחְתָּ מִשָּׁם, מְעַט בְּמִסְפָּר; וְצַרְתָּ אוֹתָם, בִּכְנָפֶיךָ.
velakhtah mishsham, me'at bemispar; vetzartah otam, bikhnafecha.
Thou shalt also take thereof a few by number, and bind them in thy skirts.
4.
וּמֵהֶם, עוֹד תִּקָּח, וְהִשְׁלַכְתָּ אוֹתָם אֶל-תּוֹךְ הָאֵשׁ, וְשָׂרַפְתָּ אֹתָם בָּאֵשׁ: מִמֶּנּוּ תֵצֵא-אֵשׁ, אֶל-כָּל-בֵּית יִשְׂרָאֵל.
umehem, od tikkakh, vehishlakhta otam el-tokh ha'esh, vesarfta otam ba'esh: mimmennu tetze-esh, el-kol beit Yisrael.
And of them again shalt thou take, and cast them into the midst of the fire, and burn them in the fire; therefrom shall a fire come forth into all the house of Israel.
5.
כֹּה אָמַר, אֲדֹנָי יְהוִה, זֹאת יְרוּשָׁלִַם, בְּתוֹךְ הַגּוֹיִם שַׂמְתִּיהָ; וּסְבִיבוֹתֶיהָ, אֲרָצוֹת.
Koh amar, Adonai YHWH, zot Yerushalayim, betokh hagoyim samtinha; usevivoteiha, aratzot.
Thus saith the Lord GOD: This is Jerusalem! I have set her in the midst of the nations, and countries are round about her.
6.
וַתֶּמֶר אֶת-מִשְׁפָּטַי לְרִשְׁעָה, מִן-הַגּוֹיִם, וְאֶת-חֻקּוֹתַי, מִן-הָאֲרָצוֹת אֲשֶׁר סְבִיבוֹתֶיהָ: כִּי בְמִשְׁפָּטַי מָאָסוּ, וְחֻקּוֹתַי לֹא-הָלְכוּ בָהֶם.
Vatemer et-mishpatai lerishah, min-hagoyim, ve'et-hukotai, min-ha'aratzot asher sevivoteiha: ki vemishpatai ma'asu, vehukotai lo-halchu vahem.
And she hath rebelled against Mine ordinances in doing wickedness more than the nations, and against My statutes more than the countries that are round about her; for they have rejected Mine ordinances, and as for My statutes, they have not walked in them.
7.
לָכֵן כֹּה-אָמַר אֲדֹנָי יְהוִה, יַעַן הֲמָנְכֶם מִן-הַגּוֹיִם אֲשֶׁר סְבִיבוֹתֵיכֶם, בְּחֻקּוֹתַי לֹא הֲלַכְתֶּם, וְאֶת-מִשְׁפָּטַי לֹא עֲשִׂיתֶם; וּכְמִשְׁפְּטֵי הַגּוֹיִם אֲשֶׁר סְבִיבוֹתֵיכֶם, לֹא עֲשִׂיתֶם.
Laken koh-amar Adonai YHWH, ya'an hamanchem min-hagoyim asher sevivoteichem, behukotai lo halakhtem, ve'et-mishpatai lo asitem; uchemishpetei hagoyim asher sevivoteichem, lo asitem.
Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD: Because ye have outdone the nations that are round about you, in that ye have not walked in My statutes, neither have kept Mine ordinances, neither have done after the ordinances of the nations that are round about you;

לָכֵן, כֹּה אָמַר אֲדֹנָי יְהוִה, הִנְנִי עָלַיִךְ, גַּם-אָנִי; וְעָשִׂיתִי בְתוֹכֵךְ מִשְׁפָּטִים, לְעֵינֵי הַגּוֹיִם.
Laken, koh amar Adonai YHWH, hinni alayich, gam-ani; ve'asiti vetokhech mishpatim, le'enei hagoyim.
therefore thus saith the Lord GOD: Behold, I, even I, am against thee, and I will execute judgments in the midst of thee in the sight of the nations.
9.
וְעָשִׂיתִי בָךְ, אֵת אֲשֶׁר לֹא-עָשִׂיתִי, וְאֵת אֲשֶׁר-לֹא-אֶעֱשֶׂה כָמֹהוּ, עוֹד--יַעַן, כָּל-תּוֹעֲבֹתָיִךְ.
ve'asiti vakh, et asher lo-asiti, ve'et asher-lo-e'ese khamohu, od--ya'an, kol-to'avotayikh.
And I will do in thee that which I have not done, and whereunto I will not do any more the like, because of all thine abominations.
10.
לָכֵן, אָבוֹת יֹאכְלוּ בָנִים בְּתוֹכֵךְ, וּבָנִים, יֹאכְלוּ אֲבוֹתָם; וְעָשִׂיתִי בָךְ שְׁפָטִים, וְזֵרִיתִי אֶת-כָּל-שְׁאֵרִיתֵךְ לְכָל-רוּחַ.
lakhen, avot yokhlu vanim betokhekh, uvanim, yokhlu avotam; ve'asiti vakh shefatim, uzeriti et-kol-she'aritekh lekhol-ru'akh.
Therefore the fathers shall eat the sons in the midst of thee, and the sons shall eat their fathers; and I will execute judgments in thee, and the whole remnant of thee will I scatter unto all the winds.
11.
לָכֵן חַי-אָנִי, נְאֻם אֲדֹנָי יְהוִה, אִם-לֹא יַעַן אֶת-מִקְדָּשִׁי טִמֵּאת, בְּכָל-שִׁקּוּצַיִךְ וּבְכָל-תּוֹעֲבֹתָיִךְ; וְגַם-אֲנִי אֶגְרַע וְלֹא-תָחוֹס עֵינִי, וְגַם-אֲנִי לֹא אֶחְמוֹל.
lakhen khay-ani, ne'um Adonai YHWH, im-lo ya'an et-mikdashi time'at, bekhol-shikkutsayikh uvekhol-to'avotayikh; vegam-ani egra'a velo-takhos eini, vegam-ani lo ekhmol.
Wherefore, as I live, saith the Lord GOD, surely, because thou hast defiled My sanctuary with all thy detestable things, and with all thine abominations, therefore will I also diminish thee; neither shall Mine eye spare, and I also will have no pity.
12.
שְׁלִשִׁתֵיךְ בַּדֶּבֶר יָמוּתוּ, וּבָרָעָב יִכְלוּ בְתוֹכֵךְ, וְהַשְּׁלִשִׁית, בַּחֶרֶב יִפְּלוּ סְבִיבוֹתָיִךְ; וְהַשְּׁלִישִׁית לְכָל-רוּחַ אֱזָרֶה, וְחֶרֶב אָרִיק אַחֲרֵיהֶם.
shelishitekh baddever yamutu, uvar'av yikhlu betokhekh, vehashelishit, bakherev yippelu sevivotayikh; vehashelshit lekhol-ru'akh azareh, vekherev arik akhareihem.
A third part of thee shall die with the pestilence, and with famine shall they be consumed in the midst of thee; and a third part shall fall by the sword round about thee; and a third part I will scatter unto all the winds, and will draw out a sword after them.
13.
וְכָלָה אַפִּי, וַהֲנִחוֹתִי חֲמָתִי בָּם--וְהִנֶּחָמְתִּי; וְיָדְעוּ כִּי-אֲנִי יְהוָה, דִּבַּרְתִּי בְּקִנְאָתִי, בְּכַלּוֹתִי חֲמָתִי, בָּם.
vekhalah api, vahanihoti khamati bam--vehinechamti; veyad'u ki-ani YHWH, dibarti bekin'ati, bekalloti khamati, bam.
Thus shall Mine anger spend itself, and I will satisfy My fury upon them, and I will be eased; and they shall know that I the LORD have spoken in My zeal, when I have spent My fury upon them.
14.
וְאֶתְּנֵךְ לְחָרְבָּה וּלְחֶרְפָּה, בַּגּוֹיִם אֲשֶׁר סְבִיבוֹתָיִךְ, לְעֵינֵי, כָּל-עוֹבֵר.
ve'et'nekh lekharbah ulekherpah, bagoyim asher sevivotayikh, le'enei, kol-over.
Moreover I will make thee an amazement and a reproach, among the nations that are round about thee, in the sight of all that pass by.
15.
וְהָיְתָה חֶרְפָּה וּגְדוּפָה, מוּסָר וּמְשַׁמָּה, לַגּוֹיִם, אֲשֶׁר סְבִיבוֹתָיִךְ: בַּעֲשׂוֹתִי בָךְ שְׁפָטִים בְּאַף וּבְחֵמָה, וּבְתֹכְחוֹת חֵמָה--אֲנִי יְהוָה, דִּבַּרְתִּי.
vehayetah kherpah ugedufah, musar umeshamah, lagoyim, asher sevivotayikh: ba'asoti vakh shefatim be'af uvkhemah, uvtokhhot khemah--ani YHWH, dibarti.
So it shall be a reproach and a taunt, an instruction and an astonishment, unto the nations that are round about thee, when I shall execute judgments in thee in anger and in fury, and in furious rebukes; I the LORD have spoken it;
16.
בְּשַׁלְּחִי אֶת-חִצֵּי הָרָעָב הָרָעִים בָּהֶם, אֲשֶׁר הָיוּ לְמַשְׁחִית, אֲשֶׁר-אֲשַׁלַּח אוֹתָם, לְשַׁחֶתְכֶם--וְרָעָב אֹסֵף עֲלֵיכֶם, וְשָׁבַרְתִּי לָכֶם מַטֵּה-לָחֶם.
beshal'khi et-hitzei hara'av hara'im bahem, asher hayu lemashkhit, asher-ashallakh otam, leshakhetkhem--vera'av osef aleykhem, veshavarti lakhem matteh-lakhem.
when I shall send upon them the evil arrows of famine, that are for destruction, which I will send to destroy you; and I will increase the famine upon you, and will break your staff of bread;
17.
וְשִׁלַּחְתִּי עֲלֵיכֶם רָעָב וְחַיָּה רָעָה, וְשִׁכְּלֻךְ, וְדֶבֶר וָדָם, יַעֲבָר-בָּךְ; וְחֶרֶב אָבִיא עָלַיִךְ, אֲנִי יְהוָה דִּבַּרְתִּי.
veshillachti alekhem ra'av vechayyah ra'ah, veshikkelukhe, vedever vadam, ya'avar-bakh; vecherev avi alayikh, ani YHWH dibbarti.
and I will send upon you famine and evil beasts, and they shall bereave thee; and pestilence and blood shall pass through thee; and I will bring the sword upon thee. I the LORD have spoken it.'
