1.
וְזֹאת הַבְּרָכָה, אֲשֶׁר בֵּרַךְ מֹשֶׁה אִישׁ הָאֱלֹהִים--אֶת-בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל: לִפְנֵי, מוֹתוֹ.
vezot haberakhah, asher berakh Moshe ish haElohim--et-bene Yisrael: lifnei, moto.
And this is the blessing wherewith Moses the man of God blessed the children of Israel before his death.
2.
וַיֹּאמַר, יְהוָה מִסִּינַי בָּא וְזָרַח מִשֵּׂעִיר לָמוֹ--הוֹפִיעַ מֵהַר פָּארָן, וְאָתָה מֵרִבְבֹת קֹדֶשׁ; מִימִינוֹ, אשדת אֵשׁ דָּת לָמוֹ.
vayomar, YHWH miSinai ba vezarah misse'ir lamo--hofi'a mehar Paran, ve'atah merivevot kodesh; mimino, eshdat esh dat lamo.
And he said: The LORD came from Sinai, and rose from Seir unto them; He shined forth from mount Paran, and He came from the myriads holy, at His right hand was a fiery law unto them.
3.
אַף חֹבֵב עַמִּים, כָּל-קְדֹשָׁיו בְּיָדֶךָ; וְהֵם תֻּכּוּ לְרַגְלֶךָ, יִשָּׂא מִדַּבְּרֹתֶיךָ.
Af khovev amim, kol-kedoshav beyadekha; vehem tuku leraglekha, yisa middabretekha.
Yea, He loveth the peoples, all His holy ones--they are in Thy hand; and they sit down at Thy feet, receiving of Thy words.
4.
תּוֹרָה צִוָּה-לָנוּ, מֹשֶׁה: מוֹרָשָׁה, קְהִלַּת יַעֲקֹב.
Torah tzivva-lanu, Moshe: morashah, kehillat Ya'akov.
Moses commanded us a law, an inheritance of the congregation of Jacob.
5.
וַיְהִי בִישֻׁרוּן, מֶלֶךְ, בְּהִתְאַסֵּף רָאשֵׁי עָם, יַחַד שִׁבְטֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל.
Vayehi vishurun, melekh, behit'asef rashei am, yakhat shivtei Yisrael.
And there was a king in Jeshurun, when the heads of the people were gathered, all the tribes of Israel together.
6.
יְחִי רְאוּבֵן, וְאַל-יָמֹת; וִיהִי מְתָיו, מִסְפָּר.
Yehi Reuven, ve'al-yamot; vihi metav, mispar.
Let Reuben live, and not die in that his men become few.
7.
וְזֹאת לִיהוּדָה, וַיֹּאמַר, שְׁמַע יְהוָה קוֹל יְהוּדָה, וְאֶל-עַמּוֹ תְּבִיאֶנּוּ; יָדָיו רָב לוֹ, וְעֵזֶר מִצָּרָיו תִּהְיֶה.
vezot lihudah, vayo'mar, shema YHWH kol yehudah, ve'el-ammo tevi'ennu; yadav rav lo, ve'ezer mitzarav tihyeh.
And this for Judah, and he said: Hear, LORD, the voice of Judah, and bring him in unto his people; his hands shall contend for him, and Thou shalt be a help against his adversaries.
8.
וּלְלֵוִי אָמַר, תֻּמֶּיךָ וְאוּרֶיךָ לְאִישׁ חֲסִידֶךָ, אֲשֶׁר נִסִּיתוֹ בְּמַסָּה, תְּרִיבֵהוּ עַל-מֵי מְרִיבָה.
ullevi amar, tummekha ve'urekha le'ish khasidekha, asher nissito bemassah, terivehu al-mei merivah.
And of Levi he said: Thy Thummim and Thy Urim be with Thy holy one, whom Thou didst prove at Massah, with whom Thou didst strive at the waters of Meribah;

הָאֹמֵר לְאָבִיו וּלְאִמּוֹ, לֹא רְאִיתִיו, וְאֶת-אֶחָיו לֹא הִכִּיר, וְאֶת-בָּנָו לֹא יָדָע: כִּי שָׁמְרוּ אִמְרָתֶךָ, וּבְרִיתְךָ יִנְצֹרוּ.
ha'omer le'aviv ule'immo, lo re'itiv, ve'et-echav lo hikkir, ve'et-banav lo yada: ki shamru imratekha, uveritekha yintzoru.
Who said of his father, and of his mother: 'I have not seen him'; neither did he acknowledge his brethren, nor knew he his own children; for they have observed Thy word, and keep Thy covenant.
10.
יוֹרוּ מִשְׁפָּטֶיךָ לְיַעֲקֹב, וְתוֹרָתְךָ לְיִשְׂרָאֵל; יָשִׂימוּ קְטוֹרָה בְּאַפֶּךָ, וְכָלִיל עַל-מִזְבְּחֶךָ.
yoru mishpatekha leya'akov, vetoratkha leyisrael; yasimu ketorah be'appekha, vekhalil al-mizbekhekha.
They shall teach Jacob Thine ordinances, and Israel Thy law; they shall put incense before Thee, and whole burnt-offering upon Thine altar.
11.
בָּרֵךְ יְהוָה חֵילוֹ, וּפֹעַל יָדָיו תִּרְצֶה; מְחַץ מָתְנַיִם קָמָיו וּמְשַׂנְאָיו, מִן-יְקוּמוּן.
Barekh YHWH kheilou, ufo'al yadav tirtzeh; mekhatz motnayim kamou umesan'av, min-yekumun.
Bless, LORD, his substance, and accept the work of his hands; smite through the loins of them that rise up against him, and of them that hate him, that they rise not again.
12.
לְבִנְיָמִן אָמַר--יְדִיד יְהוָה, יִשְׁכֹּן לָבֶטַח עָלָיו; חֹפֵף עָלָיו כָּל-הַיּוֹם, וּבֵין כְּתֵפָיו שָׁכֵן.
Levinyamin amar--yedid YHWH, yishkon lavetach alav; chofef alav kol-hayom, uvein ketefav shaken.
Of Benjamin he said: The beloved of the LORD shall dwell in safety by Him; He covereth him all the day, and He dwelleth between his shoulders.
13.
וּלְיוֹסֵף אָמַר, מְבֹרֶכֶת יְהוָה אַרְצוֹ, מִמֶּגֶד שָׁמַיִם מִטָּל, וּמִתְּהוֹם רֹבֶצֶת תָּחַת.
Uleyosef amar, mevorekhet YHWH artzo, mimeged shamayim mittal, umitehom rovetetz tachat.
And of Joseph he said: Blessed of the LORD be his land; for the precious things of heaven, for the dew, and for the deep that coucheth beneath,
14.
וּמִמֶּגֶד, תְּבוּאֹת שָׁמֶשׁ; וּמִמֶּגֶד, גֶּרֶשׁ יְרָחִים.
Umimeged, tevu'ot shamesh; umimeged, geresh yerachim.
And for the precious things of the fruits of the sun, and for the precious things of the yield of the moons,
15.
וּמֵרֹאשׁ, הַרְרֵי-קֶדֶם; וּמִמֶּגֶד, גִּבְעוֹת עוֹלָם.
u'merosh, harrei-kedem; u'mimeged, giv'ot olam.
And for the tops of the ancient mountains, and for the precious things of the everlasting hills,
16.
וּמִמֶּגֶד, אֶרֶץ וּמְלֹאָהּ, וּרְצוֹן שֹׁכְנִי, סְנֶה; תָּבוֹאתָה לְרֹאשׁ יוֹסֵף, וּלְקָדְקֹד נְזִיר אֶחָיו.
u'mimeged, eretz u'melo'ah, u'retzon shokhni, sneh; tavo'tah l'rosh Yosef, u'l'kadkod nezir echav.
And for the precious things of the earth and the fulness thereof, and the good will of Him that dwelt in the bush; let the blessing come upon the head of Joseph, and upon the crown of the head of him that is prince among his brethren.
17.
בְּכוֹר שׁוֹרוֹ הָדָר לוֹ, וְקַרְנֵי רְאֵם קַרְנָיו--בָּהֶם עַמִּים יְנַגַּח יַחְדָּו, אַפְסֵי-אָרֶץ; וְהֵם רִבְבוֹת אֶפְרַיִם, וְהֵם אַלְפֵי מְנַשֶּׁה.
b'khor shoro hadar lo, u'karnei re'em karnav--bahem amim yenaggah yachdav, apsei-aretz; v'hem rivvot Efrayim, v'hem alfei Menasheh.
His firstling bullock, majesty is his; and his horns are the horns of the wild-ox; with them he shall gore the peoples all of them, even the ends of the earth; and they are the ten thousands of Ephraim, and they are the thousands of Manasseh.
18.
וְלִזְבוּלֻן אָמַר, שְׂמַח זְבוּלֻן בְּצֵאתֶךָ; וְיִשָּׂשכָר, בְּאֹהָלֶיךָ.
v'lizvulun amar, s'mach Zevulun b'tseitekha; v'Yissakhar, b'ohalekha.
And of Zebulun he said: Rejoice, Zebulun, in thy going out, and, Issachar, in thy tents.
19.
עַמִּים, הַר-יִקְרָאוּ--שָׁם, יִזְבְּחוּ זִבְחֵי-צֶדֶק: כִּי שֶׁפַע יַמִּים יִינָקוּ, וּשְׂפֻנֵי טְמוּנֵי חוֹל.
ammim, har-yiqra'u--sham, yizbehu zivh-tzedeq: ki shefa yamim yinaku, usefunei temunei khol.
They shall call peoples unto the mountain; there shall they offer sacrifices of righteousness; for they shall suck the abundance of the seas, and the hidden treasures of the sand.
20.
וּלְגָד אָמַר, בָּרוּךְ מַרְחִיב גָּד: כְּלָבִיא שָׁכֵן, וְטָרַף זְרוֹעַ אַף-קָדְקֹד.
ulegad amar, barukh narkhiv gad: kelavi shakhen, vetaraf zero'a af-qadqod.
And of Gad he said: Blessed be He that enlargeth Gad; he dwelleth as a lioness, and teareth the arm, yea, the crown of the head.
21.
וַיַּרְא רֵאשִׁית לוֹ, כִּי-שָׁם חֶלְקַת מְחֹקֵק סָפוּן; וַיֵּתֵא, רָאשֵׁי עָם--צִדְקַת יְהוָה עָשָׂה, וּמִשְׁפָּטָיו עִם-יִשְׂרָאֵל.
vayar reshit lo, ki-sham helqat mehokeq safun; vayete, rasei am--tzidqat YHWH asha, umishpatav im-Yisrael.
And he chose a first part for himself, for there a portion of a ruler was reserved; and there came the heads of the people, he executed the righteousness of the LORD, and His ordinances with Israel.
22.
וּלְדָן אָמַר, דָּן גּוּר אַרְיֵה; יְזַנֵּק, מִן-הַבָּשָׁן.
uledan amar, dan gur aryeh; yezaneq, min-habashan.
And of Dan he said: Dan is a lion's whelp, that leapeth forth from Bashan.
23.
וּלְנַפְתָּלִי אָמַר--נַפְתָּלִי שְׂבַע רָצוֹן, וּמָלֵא בִּרְכַּת יְהוָה; יָם וְדָרוֹם, יְרָשָׁה.
u'lenaftali amar--naftali seva ratzon, u'male virkat Adonai; yam ve'darom, yerashah.
And of Naphtali he said: O Naphtali, satisfied with favour, and full with the blessing of the LORD: possess thou the sea and the south.
24.
וּלְאָשֵׁר אָמַר, בָּרוּךְ מִבָּנִים אָשֵׁר; יְהִי רְצוּי אֶחָיו, וְטֹבֵל בַּשֶּׁמֶן רַגְלוֹ.
u'le'asher amar, baruch mibanin asher; yehi retsuy echav, ve'tovel bashemen raglo.
And of Asher he said: Blessed be Asher above sons; let him be the favoured of his brethren, and let him dip his foot in oil.
25.
בַּרְזֶל וּנְחֹשֶׁת, מִנְעָלֶךָ; וּכְיָמֶיךָ, דָּבְאֶךָ.
barzel u'nechoshet, min'alekha; u'kheyameykha, dava'ekha.
Iron and brass shall be thy bars; and as thy days, so shall thy strength be.
26.
אֵין כָּאֵל, יְשֻׁרוּן: רֹכֵב שָׁמַיִם בְּעֶזְרֶךָ, וּבְגַאֲוָתוֹ שְׁחָקִים.
ein ka'el, yeshurun: rokhev shamayim be'ezrekha, u'vga'avato shechakim.
There is none like unto God, O Jeshurun, who rideth upon the heaven as thy help, and in His excellency on the skies.
27.
מְעֹנָה אֱלֹהֵי קֶדֶם, וּמִתַּחַת זְרֹעֹת עוֹלָם; וַיְגָרֶשׁ מִפָּנֶיךָ אוֹיֵב, וַיֹּאמֶר הַשְׁמֵד.
me'onah Elohim qedem, umitachat zero'ot olam; vayvaresh mipanekha oyev, vayomer hashmed.
The eternal God is a dwelling-place, and underneath are the everlasting arms; and He thrust out the enemy from before thee, and said: 'Destroy.'
28.
וַיִּשְׁכֹּן יִשְׂרָאֵל בֶּטַח בָּדָד עֵין יַעֲקֹב, אֶל-אֶרֶץ דָּגָן וְתִירוֹשׁ; אַף-שָׁמָיו, יַעַרְפוּ טָל.
vayishkon Yisrael betach badad ein Ya'akov, el-eretz dagan vetirosh; af-shamayim, ya'arfu tal.
And Israel dwelleth in safety, the fountain of Jacob alone, in a land of corn and wine; yea, his heavens drop down dew.
29.
אַשְׁרֶיךָ יִשְׂרָאֵל מִי כָמוֹךָ, עַם נוֹשַׁע בַּיהוָה, מָגֵן עֶזְרֶךָ, וַאֲשֶׁר-חֶרֶב גַּאֲוָתֶךָ; וְיִכָּחֲשׁוּ אֹיְבֶיךָ לָךְ, וְאַתָּה עַל-בָּמוֹתֵימוֹ תִדְרֹךְ.
ashrekha Yisrael mi khamokha, am nosha baAdonai, magen ezrekha, va'asher-cherev ga'avatekha; veyikhachushu oyevekha lakh, ve'atah al-bamoteimo tidrokh.
Happy art thou, O Israel, who is like unto thee? a people saved by the LORD, the shield of thy help, and that is the sword of thy excellency! And thine enemies shall dwindle away before thee; and thou shalt tread upon their high places.
