1.
וַיָּשָׁב יְהוֹשָׁפָט מֶלֶךְ-יְהוּדָה אֶל-בֵּיתוֹ, בְּשָׁלוֹם--לִירוּשָׁלִָם.
vayashav Yehoshafat melekh-Yehuda el-beito, beshalom--lirushalayim.
And Jehoshaphat the king of Judah returned to his house in peace to Jerusalem.
2.
וַיֵּצֵא אֶל-פָּנָיו, יֵהוּא בֶן-חֲנָנִי הַחֹזֶה, וַיֹּאמֶר אֶל-הַמֶּלֶךְ יְהוֹשָׁפָט, הֲלָרָשָׁע לַעְזֹר וּלְשֹׂנְאֵי יְהוָה תֶּאֱהָב: וּבָזֹאת עָלֶיךָ קֶּצֶף, מִלִּפְנֵי יְהוָה.
vayetze el-panav, Yehu ven-Khanani hakhozeh, vayo'mer el-hamelekh Yehoshafat, halarasha la'azor ulesone'ei YHWH te'ehav: uvezot alekha qetef, millifnei YHWH.
And Jehu the son of Hanani the seer went out to meet him, and said to king Jehoshaphat: 'Shouldest thou help the wicked, and love them that hate the LORD? for this thing wrath is upon thee from before the LORD.

אֲבָל, דְּבָרִים טוֹבִים נִמְצְאוּ עִמָּךְ: כִּי-בִעַרְתָּ הָאֲשֵׁרוֹת מִן-הָאָרֶץ, וַהֲכִינוֹתָ לְבָבְךָ לִדְרֹשׁ הָאֱלֹהִים.
Aval, devarim tovim nimtseu immakh: ki-viarta ha'asherot min-ha'aretz, vahakhinota levavkha lidrosh haElohim.
Nevertheless there are good things found in thee, in that thou hast put away the Asheroth out of the land, and hast set thy heart to seek God.'

וַיֵּשֶׁב יְהוֹשָׁפָט, בִּירוּשָׁלִָם; וַיָּשָׁב וַיֵּצֵא בָעָם, מִבְּאֵר שֶׁבַע עַד-הַר אֶפְרַיִם, וַיְשִׁיבֵם, אֶל-יְהוָה אֱלֹהֵי אֲבוֹתֵיהֶם.
Vayeshev Yehoshafat, Biyrushalayim; vayashav vayetze va'am, mibe'er sheva ad-har Efrayim, vayshivem, el-YHWH Elohe avotehem.
And Jehoshaphat dwelt at Jerusalem; and he went out again among the people from Beer-sheba to the hill-country of Ephraim, and brought them back unto the LORD, the God of their fathers.

וַיַּעֲמֵד שֹׁפְטִים בָּאָרֶץ, בְּכָל-עָרֵי יְהוּדָה הַבְּצֻרוֹת--לְעִיר וָעִיר.
Vaya'amed shoftim ba'aretz, bekhol-arei Yehuda habtsurot--le'ir va'ir.
And he set judges in the land throughout all the fortified cities of Judah, city by city,

וַיֹּאמֶר אֶל-הַשֹּׁפְטִים, רְאוּ מָה-אַתֶּם עֹשִׂים--כִּי לֹא לְאָדָם תִּשְׁפְּטוּ, כִּי לַיהוָה; וְעִמָּכֶם, בִּדְבַר מִשְׁפָּט.
Vayomer el-hashoftim, re'u ma-atem osim--ki lo l'adam tishpetu, ki laYHWH; ve'immakhem, bidvar mishpat.
and said to the judges: 'Consider what ye do; for ye judge not for man, but for the LORD; and [He is] with you in giving judgment.
7.
וְעַתָּה, יְהִי פַחַד-יְהוָה עֲלֵיכֶם: שִׁמְרוּ וַעֲשׂוּ--כִּי-אֵין עִם-יְהוָה אֱלֹהֵינוּ עַוְלָה וּמַשֹּׂא פָנִים, וּמִקַּח-שֹׁחַד.
ve'attah, yehi fakhad-YHWH aleikhem: shimru va'asu--ki-ein im-YHWH Eloheinu avlah umasso fanim, umikkakh-shokhad.
Now therefore let the fear of the LORD be upon you; take heed and do it; for there is no iniquity with the LORD our God, nor respect of persons, nor taking of bribes.'

וְגַם בִּירוּשָׁלִַם הֶעֱמִיד יְהוֹשָׁפָט מִן-הַלְוִיִּם וְהַכֹּהֲנִים, וּמֵרָאשֵׁי הָאָבוֹת לְיִשְׂרָאֵל, לְמִשְׁפַּט יְהוָה, וְלָרִיב; וַיָּשֻׁבוּ, יְרוּשָׁלִָם.
vegam Biyrushalayim he'emid Yehoshafat min-halviyim vehakohanim, umerashei ha'avot lYisrael, lemishpat YHWH, velariv; vayashuvu, Yerushalayim.
Moreover in Jerusalem did Jehoshaphat set of the Levites and the priests, and of the heads of the fathers' houses of Israel, for the judgment of the LORD, and for controversies. And they returned to Jerusalem.
9.
וַיְצַו עֲלֵיהֶם, לֵאמֹר: כֹּה תַעֲשׂוּן בְּיִרְאַת יְהוָה, בֶּאֱמוּנָה וּבְלֵבָב שָׁלֵם.
vaytzav aleihem, lemor: koh ta'asun beyirat YHWH, be'emunah u-vlevav shalem.
And he charged them, saying: 'Thus shall ye do in the fear of the LORD, faithfully, and with a whole heart.
10.
וְכָל-רִיב אֲשֶׁר-יָבוֹא עֲלֵיכֶם מֵאֲחֵיכֶם הַיֹּשְׁבִים בְּעָרֵיהֶם, בֵּין-דָּם לְדָם בֵּין-תּוֹרָה לְמִצְוָה לְחֻקִּים וּלְמִשְׁפָּטִים, וְהִזְהַרְתֶּם אֹתָם, וְלֹא יֶאְשְׁמוּ לַיהוָה וְהָיָה-קֶצֶף עֲלֵיכֶם וְעַל-אֲחֵיכֶם: כֹּה תַעֲשׂוּן, וְלֹא תֶאְשָׁמוּ.
vekhol-riv asher-yavo aleikhem me'akheikhem hayoshvim be'areihem, bein-dam ledam bein-torah lemitzvah lekhukim ulemishpatim, vehizhartem otam, velo ye'shmu laYHWH vehayah-ketzef aleikhem ve'al-akheikhem: koh ta'asun, velo te'ashumu.
And whensoever any controversy shall come to you from your brethren that dwell in their cities, between blood and blood, between law and commandment, statutes and ordinances, ye shall warn them, that they be not guilty towards the LORD, and so wrath come upon you and upon your brethren; thus shall ye do, and ye shall not be guilty.
11.
וְהִנֵּה אֲמַרְיָהוּ כֹהֵן הָרֹאשׁ עֲלֵיכֶם לְכֹל דְּבַר-יְהוָה, וּזְבַדְיָהוּ בֶן-יִשְׁמָעֵאל הַנָּגִיד לְבֵית-יְהוּדָה לְכֹל דְּבַר-הַמֶּלֶךְ, וְשֹׁטְרִים הַלְוִיִּם, לִפְנֵיכֶם: חִזְקוּ וַעֲשׂוּ, וִיהִי יְהוָה עִם-הַטּוֹב.
vehineh amaryahu kohen harosh alekhem lekhol devar-YHWH, uzevadYahu ven-yishmael hanagid leveit-yehudah lekhol devar-hamelekh, veshotrim halviyim, lifnekhem: khizqu vaasu, vihi YHWH im-hatov.
And, behold, Amariah the chief priest is over you in all matters of the LORD; and Zebadiah the son of Ishmael, the ruler of the house of Judah, in all the king's matters; also the officers of the Levites before you. Deal courageously, and the LORD be with the good.'
