1.
וַיְהִי הַמֶּלֶךְ שְׁלֹמֹה, מֶלֶךְ עַל-כָּל-יִשְׂרָאֵל.
vayhi hamelekh shelomoh melekh al-kol-yisrael.
And king Solomon was king over all Israel.

וְאֵלֶּה הַשָּׂרִים, אֲשֶׁר-לוֹ: עֲזַרְיָהוּ בֶן-צָדוֹק, הַכֹּהֵן.
ve'eleh hasharim, asher-lo: azaryahu ven-tsadok, hakohen.
And these were the princes whom he had: Azariah the son of Zadok, the priest;

אֱלִיחֹרֶף וַאֲחִיָּה בְּנֵי שִׁישָׁא, סֹפְרִים; יְהוֹשָׁפָט בֶּן-אֲחִילוּד, הַמַּזְכִּיר.
elichoref va'achiyah beney shisha, sofrim; yehoshafat ben-achilud, hamatzkir.
Elihoreph and Ahijah, the sons of Shisha, scribes; Jehoshaphat the son of Ahilud, the recorder;
4.
וּבְנָיָהוּ בֶן-יְהוֹיָדָע, עַל-הַצָּבָא; וְצָדוֹק וְאֶבְיָתָר, כֹּהֲנִים.
uvenayahu ven-yehoyada, al-hatzava; vetsadok ve'evyatar, kohanim.
and Benaiah the son of Jehoiada was over the host; and Zadok and Abiathar were priests;
5.
וַעֲזַרְיָהוּ בֶן-נָתָן, עַל-הַנִּצָּבִים; וְזָבוּד בֶּן-נָתָן כֹּהֵן, רֵעֶה הַמֶּלֶךְ.
va'azaryahu ven-natan, al-hantzavim; vezavud ben-natan kohen, re'eh hamelech.
and Azariah the son of Nathan was over the officers; and Zabud the son of Nathan was chief minister and the king's friend;
6.
וַאֲחִישָׁר, עַל-הַבָּיִת; וַאֲדֹנִירָם בֶּן-עַבְדָּא, עַל-הַמַּס.
va'akhishar, al-habayit; va'adoniram ben-avda, al-hamas.
and Ahishar was over the household; and Adoniram the son of Abda was over the levy.
7.
וְלִשְׁלֹמֹה שְׁנֵים-עָשָׂר נִצָּבִים, עַל-כָּל-יִשְׂרָאֵל, וְכִלְכְּלוּ אֶת-הַמֶּלֶךְ, וְאֶת-בֵּיתוֹ: חֹדֶשׁ בַּשָּׁנָה יִהְיֶה עַל-אחד הָאֶחָד, לְכַלְכֵּל.
velishlomo shneim-asar nitzavim, al-kol-Yisrael, vekhilkely et-hamelekh, ve'et-beito: khodesh bashanah yihyeh al-ekhad ha'echad, lekhelkel.
And Solomon had twelve officers over all Israel, who provided victuals for the king and his household: each man had to make provision for a month in the year.
8.
וְאֵלֶּה שְׁמוֹתָם, בֶּן-חוּר בְּהַר אֶפְרָיִם.
ve'eleh shemotam, ben-khur behar Efrayim.
And these are their names: The son of Hur, in the hill-country of Ephraim;
9.
בֶּן-דֶּקֶר בְּמָקַץ וּבְשַׁעַלְבִים, וּבֵית שָׁמֶשׁ; וְאֵילוֹן, בֵּית חָנָן.
ben-deker bemaqatz uvsha'alvim, uveit shamesh; ve'ilon, beit khanan.
the son of Deker, in Makaz, and in Shaalbim, and Beth-shemesh, and Elon-beth-hanan;
10.
בֶּן-חֶסֶד, בָּאֲרֻבּוֹת; לוֹ שֹׂכֹה, וְכָל-אֶרֶץ חֵפֶר.
ben-khesed, ba'arubot; lo sokho, vekhal-erets khefer.
the son of Hesed, in Arubboth; to him pertained Socoh, and all the land of Hepher;
11.
בֶּן-אֲבִינָדָב, כָּל-נָפַת דֹּאר; טָפַת, בַּת-שְׁלֹמֹה, הָיְתָה לּוֹ, לְאִשָּׁה.
ben-avinadav, kol-nafat dor; tafat, bat-shelomoh, haytah lo, le'isha.
the son of Abinadab, in all the region of Dor; he had Taphath the daughter of Solomon to wife;
12.
בַּעֲנָא, בֶּן-אֲחִילוּד, תַּעְנַךְ, וּמְגִדּוֹ; וְכָל-בֵּית שְׁאָן אֲשֶׁר אֵצֶל צָרְתַנָה מִתַּחַת לְיִזְרְעֶאל, מִבֵּית שְׁאָן עַד אָבֵל מְחוֹלָה, עַד, מֵעֵבֶר לְיָקְמְעָם.
ba'ana, ben-akhilud, ta'anak, umegido; vekhal-beit she'an asher etzel tsartenah mittakhat leyizre'el, mibeit she'an ad avel mekholah, ad, me'ever leyokme'am.
Baana the son of Ahilud, in Taanach and Megiddo, and all Beth-shean which is beside Zarethan, beneath Jezreel, from Beth-shean to Abel-meholah, as far as beyond Jokmeam;
13.
בֶּן-גֶּבֶר, בְּרָמֹת גִּלְעָד; לוֹ חַוֺּת יָאִיר בֶּן-מְנַשֶּׁה אֲשֶׁר בַּגִּלְעָד, לוֹ חֶבֶל אַרְגֹּב אֲשֶׁר בַּבָּשָׁן--שִׁשִּׁים עָרִים גְּדֹלוֹת, חוֹמָה וּבְרִיחַ נְחֹשֶׁת.
ben-gever, beramot gil'ad; lo khavot ya'ir ben-menasheh asher bagil'ad, lo khevel argov asher babashan--shishim arim gedolot, khomah uverikh nekhoshet.
the son of Geber, in Ramoth-gilead; to him pertained the villages of Jair the son of Manasseh, which are in Gilead; even to him pertained the region of Argob, which is in Bashan, threescore great cities with walls and brazen bars;
14.
אֲחִינָדָב בֶּן-עִדֹּא, מַחֲנָיְמָה.
Achinadav ben-ido, machanaymah.
Ahinadab the son of Iddo, in Mahanaim;
15.
אֲחִימַעַץ, בְּנַפְתָּלִי; גַּם-הוּא, לָקַח אֶת-בָּשְׂמַת בַּת-שְׁלֹמֹה--לְאִשָּׁה.
Achima'atz, benaftali; gam-hu, lakach et-basmat bat-shlomoh--le'ishah.
Ahimaaz, in Naphtali; he also took Basemath the daughter of Solomon to wife;
16.
בַּעֲנָא, בֶּן-חוּשָׁי, בְּאָשֵׁר, וּבְעָלוֹת.
Ba'ana, ben-chushay, be'asher, uve'alot.
Baana the son of Hushai, in Asher and Bealoth;
17.
יְהוֹשָׁפָט בֶּן-פָּרוּחַ, בְּיִשָּׂשכָר.
Yehoshafat ben-paruch, beyissachar.
Jehoshaphat the son of Paruah, in Issachar;
18.
שִׁמְעִי בֶן-אֵלָא, בְּבִנְיָמִן.
Shim'i ven-Ela, beVinyamin.
Shimei the son of Ela, in Benjamin;
19.
גֶּבֶר בֶּן-אֻרִי, בְּאֶרֶץ גִּלְעָד--אֶרֶץ סִיחוֹן מֶלֶךְ הָאֱמֹרִי, וְעֹג מֶלֶךְ הַבָּשָׁן, וּנְצִיב אֶחָד, אֲשֶׁר בָּאָרֶץ.
Gever ben-Uri, be'eretz Gil'ad--eretz Siyon melekh ha'Emori, ve'Og melekh haBashan, unatziv echad, asher ba'aretz.
Geber the son of Uri, in the land of Gilead, the country of Sihon king of the Amorites and of Og king of Bashan; and one officer that was [over all the officers] in the land.
20.
יְהוּדָה וְיִשְׂרָאֵל רַבִּים, כַּחוֹל אֲשֶׁר-עַל-הַיָּם לָרֹב, אֹכְלִים וְשֹׁתִים, וּשְׂמֵחִים.
Yehudah veYisrael rabim, kachol asher-al-haYam larov, okhlim veshotim, usmechim.
Judah and Israel were many, as the sand which is by the sea in multitude, eating and drinking and making merry.
