מִי יִתֶּנְךָ כְּאָח לִי, יוֹנֵק שְׁדֵי אִמִּי; אֶמְצָאֲךָ בַחוּץ אֶשָּׁקְךָ, גַּם לֹא-יָבֻזוּ לִי.
mi yittenkha ke'ach li, yonek shedei immi; emtza'akha vachutz eshakheha, gam lo-yavuzu li.
Oh that thou wert as my brother, that sucked the breasts of my mother! When I should find thee without, I would kiss thee; yea, and none would despise me.

אֶנְהָגְךָ, אֲבִיאֲךָ אֶל-בֵּית אִמִּי--תְּלַמְּדֵנִי; אַשְׁקְךָ מִיַּיִן הָרֶקַח, מֵעֲסִיס רִמֹּנִי.
enhagekha, avi'akha el-beit immi--telammedeni; ashqekha miyayin hareqah, me'asis rimonni.
I would lead thee, and bring thee into my mother's house, that thou mightest instruct me; I would cause thee to drink of spiced wine, of the juice of my pomegranate.

שְׂמֹאלוֹ תַּחַת רֹאשִׁי, וִימִינוֹ תְּחַבְּקֵנִי.
semolo tahat roshi, vimino tehabbqeni.
His left hand should be under my head, and his right hand should embrace me.
4.
הִשְׁבַּעְתִּי אֶתְכֶם, בְּנוֹת יְרוּשָׁלִָם: מַה-תָּעִירוּ וּמַה-תְּעֹרְרוּ אֶת-הָאַהֲבָה, עַד שֶׁתֶּחְפָּץ.
hishba'ti etkhem, benot Yerushalayim: mah-ta'iru umah-te'oreru et-ha'ahavah, ad shet-hefatz.
'I adjure you, O daughters of Jerusalem: Why should ye awaken, or stir up love, until it please?'

מִי זֹאת, עֹלָה מִן-הַמִּדְבָּר, מִתְרַפֶּקֶת, עַל-דּוֹדָהּ; תַּחַת הַתַּפּוּחַ, עוֹרַרְתִּיךָ--שָׁמָּה חִבְּלַתְךָ אִמֶּךָ, שָׁמָּה חִבְּלָה יְלָדַתְךָ.
mi zot, olah min-hamidbar, mitrappetet, al-dodah; tahat hattapu'ah, orartikha--shamma hibbelatkha immekha, shamma hibbelah yeladatkha.
Who is this that cometh up from the wilderness, leaning upon her beloved? Under the apple-tree I awakened thee; there thy mother was in travail with thee; there was she in travail and brought thee forth.

שִׂימֵנִי כַחוֹתָם עַל-לִבֶּךָ, כַּחוֹתָם עַל-זְרוֹעֶךָ--כִּי-עַזָּה כַמָּוֶת אַהֲבָה, קָשָׁה כִשְׁאוֹל קִנְאָה: רְשָׁפֶיהָ--רִשְׁפֵּי, אֵשׁ שַׁלְהֶבֶתְיָה.
simeni khotam al-libekha, kkhotam al-zro'ekha--ki-'azza kammavet ahavah, qasha khish'ol qin'ah: reshafeha--rishpei, esh shalhevet-yah.
Set me as a seal upon thy heart, as a seal upon thine arm; for love is strong as death, jealousy is cruel as the grave; the flashes thereof are flashes of fire, a very flame of the LORD.

מַיִם רַבִּים, לֹא יוּכְלוּ לְכַבּוֹת אֶת-הָאַהֲבָה, וּנְהָרוֹת, לֹא יִשְׁטְפוּהָ; אִם-יִתֵּן אִישׁ אֶת-כָּל-הוֹן בֵּיתוֹ, בָּאַהֲבָה--בּוֹז, יָבוּזוּ לוֹ.
mayim rabbim, lo yukhalu lekhavot et-ha'ahavah, uneharot, lo yishtfuha; im-yiten ish et-kol-hon beito, ba'ahavah--boz, yavuzu lo.
Many waters cannot quench love, neither can the floods drown it; if a man would give all the substance of his house for love, he would utterly be contemned.

אָחוֹת לָנוּ קְטַנָּה, וְשָׁדַיִם אֵין לָהּ; מַה-נַּעֲשֶׂה לַאֲחֹתֵנוּ, בַּיּוֹם שֶׁיְּדֻבַּר-בָּהּ.
akhot lanu qetanah, veshadayim ein lah; mah-na'aseh la'akhotenu, bayom sheyedubar-bah.
We have a little sister, and she hath no breasts; what shall we do for our sister in the day when she shall be spoken for?
9.
אִם-חוֹמָה הִיא, נִבְנֶה עָלֶיהָ טִירַת כָּסֶף; וְאִם-דֶּלֶת הִיא, נָצוּר עָלֶיהָ לוּחַ אָרֶז.
im-khomah hi, nivneh ‘aleyiha tirat kasef; ve'im-delet hi, natsur ‘aleyiha luakh arez.
If she be a wall, we will build upon her a turret of silver; and if she be a door, we will enclose her with boards of cedar.
10.
אֲנִי חוֹמָה, וְשָׁדַי כַּמִּגְדָּלוֹת; אָז הָיִיתִי בְעֵינָיו, כְּמוֹצְאֵת שָׁלוֹם.
ani khomah, veshaday kamigdalot; az hayiti ve'einav, kemotze'et shalom.
I am a wall, and my breasts like the towers thereof; then was I in his eyes as one that found peace.

כֶּרֶם הָיָה לִשְׁלֹמֹה בְּבַעַל הָמוֹן, נָתַן אֶת-הַכֶּרֶם לַנֹּטְרִים: אִישׁ יָבִא בְּפִרְיוֹ, אֶלֶף כָּסֶף.
kerem hayah lishlomoh beba'al hamon, natan et-hakerem lanotrim: ish yavi befiryo, elef kasef.
Solomon had a vineyard at Baal-hamon; he gave over the vineyard unto keepers; every one for the fruit thereof brought in a thousand pieces of silver.
12.
כַּרְמִי שֶׁלִּי, לְפָנָי; הָאֶלֶף לְךָ שְׁלֹמֹה, וּמָאתַיִם לְנֹטְרִים אֶת-פִּרְיוֹ.
karmi sheli, lefanay; ha'elef lekha shlomoh, umatayim lenotrim et-piryo.
My vineyard, which is mine, is before me; thou, O Solomon, shalt have the thousand, and those that keep the fruit thereof two hundred.
13.
הַיּוֹשֶׁבֶת בַּגַּנִּים, חֲבֵרִים מַקְשִׁיבִים לְקוֹלֵךְ--הַשְׁמִיעִנִי.
hayoshevet baganim, khaverim makshivim lekolekh--hashmi'eni.
Thou that dwellest in the gardens, the companions hearken for thy voice: 'Cause me to hear it.'
14.
בְּרַח דּוֹדִי, וּדְמֵה-לְךָ לִצְבִי אוֹ לְעֹפֶר הָאַיָּלִים--עַל, הָרֵי בְשָׂמִים.
Berakh dodi, udemeh-lekha litzvi o le'ofer ha'ayalim--al, harei vesamim.
Make haste, my beloved, and be thou like to a gazelle or to a young hart upon the mountains of spices.
