אֲנִי חֲבַצֶּלֶת הַשָּׁרוֹן, שׁוֹשַׁנַּת הָעֲמָקִים.
ani khavatselet hasharon, shoshanat ha'amakim.
I am a rose of Sharon, a lily of the valleys.
2.
כְּשׁוֹשַׁנָּה בֵּין הַחוֹחִים, כֵּן רַעְיָתִי בֵּין הַבָּנוֹת.
keshoshannah bein hakhochim, ken ra'yati bein habanot.
As a lily among thorns, so is my love among the daughters.
3.
כְּתַפּוּחַ בַּעֲצֵי הַיַּעַר, כֵּן דּוֹדִי בֵּין הַבָּנִים; בְּצִלּוֹ חִמַּדְתִּי וְיָשַׁבְתִּי, וּפִרְיוֹ מָתוֹק לְחִכִּי.
ketapuuakh ba'atzei haya'ar, ken dodi bein habanim; betzillo khimadti veyashavti, ufiryo matok lekhikki.
As an apple-tree among the trees of the wood, so is my beloved among the sons. Under its shadow I delighted to sit, and its fruit was sweet to my taste.
4.
הֱבִיאַנִי אֶל-בֵּית הַיָּיִן, וְדִגְלוֹ עָלַי אַהֲבָה.
Hevi'ani el-beit hayayin, vediglho ‘alay ahavah.
He hath brought me to the banqueting-house, and his banner over me is love.
5.
סַמְּכוּנִי, בָּאֲשִׁישׁוֹת--רַפְּדוּנִי, בַּתַּפּוּחִים: כִּי-חוֹלַת אַהֲבָה, אָנִי.
Sam'chuni, ba'ashishot--rap'duni, batapuchim: ki-cholat ahavah, ani.
'Stay ye me with dainties, refresh me with apples; for I am love-sick.'
6.
שְׂמֹאלוֹ תַּחַת לְרֹאשִׁי, וִימִינוֹ תְּחַבְּקֵנִי.
Sem'olo tachat leroshi, vimino techabkeni.
Let his left hand be under my head, and his right hand embrace me.
7.
הִשְׁבַּעְתִּי אֶתְכֶם בְּנוֹת יְרוּשָׁלִַם, בִּצְבָאוֹת, אוֹ, בְּאַיְלוֹת הַשָּׂדֶה: אִם-תָּעִירוּ וְאִם-תְּעוֹרְרוּ אֶת-הָאַהֲבָה, עַד שֶׁתֶּחְפָּץ.
Hishba'ti etchem bonot Yerushalayim, bitzva'ot, o, be'aylot hasadeh: im-ta'iru ve'im-te'oreru et-ha'ahavah, ‘ad shetechpatz.
'I adjure you, O daughters of Jerusalem, by the gazelles, and by the hinds of the field, that ye awaken not, nor stir up love, until it please.'
8.
קוֹל דּוֹדִי, הִנֵּה-זֶה בָּא; מְדַלֵּג, עַל-הֶהָרִים--מְקַפֵּץ, עַל-הַגְּבָעוֹת.
kol dodi, hinneh-zeh ba; medalleg, al-heharim--mekafetz, al-hagevaot.
Hark! my beloved! behold, he cometh, leaping upon the mountains, skipping upon the hills.
9.
דּוֹמֶה דוֹדִי לִצְבִי, אוֹ לְעֹפֶר הָאַיָּלִים; הִנֵּה-זֶה עוֹמֵד, אַחַר כָּתְלֵנוּ--מַשְׁגִּיחַ מִן-הַחַלֹּנוֹת, מֵצִיץ מִן-הַחֲרַכִּים.
domeh dodi litzvi, o le'ofer ha'ayalim; hinneh-zeh omed, achar kotlenenu--mashgich min-hachalonot, metzitz min-hacharakim.
My beloved is like a gazelle or a young hart; behold, he standeth behind our wall, he looketh in through the windows, he peereth through the lattice.
10.
עָנָה דוֹדִי, וְאָמַר לִי: קוּמִי לָךְ רַעְיָתִי יָפָתִי, וּלְכִי-לָךְ.
anah dodi, ve'amar li: kumi lach ra'yati yafati, ulechi-lach.
My beloved spoke, and said unto me: 'Rise up, my love, my fair one, and come away.
11.
כִּי-הִנֵּה הַסְּתָו, עָבָר; הַגֶּשֶׁם, חָלַף הָלַךְ לוֹ.
ki-hinneh hastav, avar; hageshem, chalaf halach lo.
For, lo, the winter is past, the rain is over and gone;
12.
הַנִּצָּנִים נִרְאוּ בָאָרֶץ, עֵת הַזָּמִיר הִגִּיעַ; וְקוֹל הַתּוֹר, נִשְׁמַע בְּאַרְצֵנוּ.
hannitzanim nir'u va'aretz, et hazzamir higi'a; vekol hattor, nishma be'artzenu.
The flowers appear on the earth; the time of singing is come, and the voice of the turtle is heard in our land;
13.
הַתְּאֵנָה חָנְטָה פַגֶּיהָ, וְהַגְּפָנִים סְמָדַר נָתְנוּ רֵיחַ; קוּמִי לכי לָךְ רַעְיָתִי יָפָתִי, וּלְכִי-לָךְ.
hatte'enah khantah faggeha, vehagefanim semadar natnu reyakh; qumi lachi lach ra'yati yafati, ulechi-lach.
The fig-tree putteth forth her green figs, and the vines in blossom give forth their fragrance. Arise, my love, my fair one, and come away.
14.
יוֹנָתִי בְּחַגְוֵי הַסֶּלַע, בְּסֵתֶר הַמַּדְרֵגָה, הַרְאִינִי אֶת-מַרְאַיִךְ, הַשְׁמִיעִנִי אֶת-קוֹלֵךְ: כִּי-קוֹלֵךְ עָרֵב, וּמַרְאֵיךְ נָאוֶה.
yonati bekhagvei hassela, beseter hammadregah, har'ini et-mar'ayikh, hashmi'ini et-kolekh: ki-kolekh arev, umar'eikh na'veh.
O my dove, that art in the clefts of the rock, in the covert of the cliff, let me see thy countenance, let me hear thy voice; for sweet is thy voice, and thy countenance is comely.'
15.
אֶחֱזוּ-לָנוּ, שֻׁעָלִים--שֻׁעָלִים קְטַנִּים, מְחַבְּלִים כְּרָמִים; וּכְרָמֵינוּ, סְמָדַר.
ekhezu-lanu, shu'alim--shu'alim qetannim, mekhabbelim keramim; ukhkerameinu, semadar.
'Take us the foxes, the little foxes, that spoil the vineyards; for our vineyards are in blossom.'
16.
דּוֹדִי לִי וַאֲנִי לוֹ, הָרֹעֶה בַּשּׁוֹשַׁנִּים.
dodi li va'ani lo, haroeh bashoshannim.
My beloved is mine, and I am his, that feedeth among the lilies.
17.
עַד שֶׁיָּפוּחַ הַיּוֹם, וְנָסוּ הַצְּלָלִים: סֹב דְּמֵה-לְךָ דוֹדִי לִצְבִי, אוֹ לְעֹפֶר הָאַיָּלִים--עַל-הָרֵי בָתֶר.
ad sheyafuach hayom, venasu hatzelalim: sov deme-lekha dodi litzvi, o le'ofer ha'ayalim--al-hare vater.
Until the day breathe, and the shadows flee away, turn, my beloved, and be thou like a gazelle or a young hart upon the mountains of spices.
