1.
לַמְנַצֵּחַ, מִזְמוֹר לְדָוִד.
lamnatze'ach, mizmor ledavid.
For the Leader. A Psalm of David.
2.
שְׁמַע-אֱלֹהִים קוֹלִי בְשִׂיחִי; מִפַּחַד אוֹיֵב, תִּצֹּר חַיָּי.
shema-Elohim koli vesikhi; mipadach oyev, titzor khayay.
Hear my voice, O God, in my complaint; preserve my life from the terror of the enemy.
3.
תַּסְתִּירֵנִי, מִסּוֹד מְרֵעִים; מֵרִגְשַׁת, פֹּעֲלֵי אָוֶן.
tastireni, missod mere'im; merigshat, po'alei aven.
Hide me from the council of evil-doers; from the tumult of the workers of iniquity;

אֲשֶׁר שָׁנְנוּ כַחֶרֶב לְשׁוֹנָם; דָּרְכוּ חִצָּם, דָּבָר מָר.
asher shanunu kakherev leshonam; darkhu khitzam, davar mar.
Who have whet their tongue like a sword, and have aimed their arrow, a poisoned word;

לִירֹת בַּמִּסְתָּרִים תָּם; פִּתְאֹם יֹרֻהוּ, וְלֹא יִירָאוּ.
lirot bammistarim tam; pitom yoruhu, velo yir'u.
That they may shoot in secret places at the blameless; suddenly do they shoot at him, and fear not.

יְחַזְּקוּ-לָמוֹ, דָּבָר רָע-- יְסַפְּרוּ, לִטְמוֹן מוֹקְשִׁים;אָמְרוּ, מִי יִרְאֶה-לָּמוֹ.
yechazzeku-lamo, davar ra-- yesapperu, litmon mokshim; amru, mi yir'eh-lamo.
They encourage one another in an evil matter; they converse of laying snares secretly; they ask, who would see them.
7.
יַחְפְּשׂוּ עוֹלֹת-- תַּמְנוּ, חֵפֶשׂ מְחֻפָּשׂ;וְקֶרֶב אִישׁ, וְלֵב עָמֹק.
yachpeshu olot-- tamnu, chefes mechukhas; vekerev ish, velev amok.
They search out iniquities, they have accomplished a diligent search; even in the inward thought of every one, and the deep heart.
8.
וַיֹּרֵם, אֱלֹהִים: חֵץ פִּתְאוֹם--הָיוּ, מַכּוֹתָם.
vayorem, Elohim: chets pitom-- hayu, makkotam.
But God doth shoot at them with an arrow suddenly; thence are their wounds.
9.
וַיַּכְשִׁילוּהוּ עָלֵימוֹ לְשׁוֹנָם; יִתְנֹדְדוּ, כָּל-רֹאֵה בָם.
vayakhshiluhu aleymo leshonam yitnodedu kol ro'eh vam
So they make their own tongue a stumbling unto themselves; all that see them shake the head.
10.
וַיִּירְאוּ, כָּל-אָדָם: וַיַּגִּידוּ, פֹּעַל אֱלֹהִים; וּמַעֲשֵׂהוּ הִשְׂכִּילוּ.
vayir'u kol adam vayagidu po'al Elohim uma'asehu hiskilu
And all men fear; and they declare the work of God, and understand His doing.
11.
יִשְׂמַח צַדִּיק בַּיהוָה, וְחָסָה בוֹ; וְיִתְהַלְלוּ, כָּל-יִשְׁרֵי-לֵב.
yismakh tzadiq baAdonai vekhasah vo veyithallelu kol yishrei lev
The righteous shall be glad in the LORD, and shall take refuge in Him; and all the upright in heart shall glory.
