2.
יְהוָה--אַל-בְּקֶצְפְּךָ תוֹכִיחֵנִי; וּבַחֲמָתְךָ תְיַסְּרֵנִי.
YHWH al-beketzpecha tokhicheni; uvakhamatecha teyassreni.
O LORD, rebuke me not in Thine anger; neither chasten me in Thy wrath.
3.
כִּי-חִצֶּיךָ, נִחֲתוּ בִי; וַתִּנְחַת עָלַי יָדֶךָ.
ki-chitzeicha nichatu vi; vatinchat alay yadecha.
For Thine arrows are gone deep into me, and Thy hand is come down upon me.
4.
אֵין-מְתֹם בִּבְשָׂרִי, מִפְּנֵי זַעְמֶךָ; אֵין-שָׁלוֹם בַּעֲצָמַי, מִפְּנֵי חַטָּאתִי.
ein-metom bivsari, mipnei za'mecha; ein-shalom ba'atzamay, mipnei chattati.
There is no soundness in my flesh because of Thine indignation; neither is there any health in my bones because of my sin.

כִּי עֲוֺנֹתַי, עָבְרוּ רֹאשִׁי; כְּמַשָּׂא כָבֵד, יִכְבְּדוּ מִמֶּנִּי.
ki avonotai, avru roshi; kemassa khaved, yikhbedu mimenni.
For mine iniquities are gone over my head; as a heavy burden they are too heavy for me.
6.
הִבְאִישׁוּ נָמַקּוּ, חַבּוּרֹתָי: מִפְּנֵי, אִוַּלְתִּי.
hiv'ishu namakku, khabburotai: mippenei, ivvalti.
My wounds are noisome, they fester, because of my foolishness.
7.
נַעֲוֵיתִי שַׁחֹתִי עַד-מְאֹד; כָּל-הַיּוֹם, קֹדֵר הִלָּכְתִּי.
na'aviti shakhoti ad-me'od; kol-hayyom, qoder hillakhti.
I am bent and bowed down greatly; I go mourning all the day.
8.
כִּי-כְסָלַי, מָלְאוּ נִקְלֶה; וְאֵין מְתֹם, בִּבְשָׂרִי.
ki-khesalai, male'u niqleh; ve'ein metom, bivsari.
For my loins are filled with burning; and there is no soundness in my flesh.
9.
נְפוּגוֹתִי וְנִדְכֵּיתִי עַד-מְאֹד; שָׁאַגְתִּי, מִנַּהֲמַת לִבִּי.
nefugoti venidketi ad-me'od; shagti, minahat libi.
I am benumbed and sore crushed; I groan by reason of the moaning of my heart.
10.
אֲדֹנָי, נֶגְדְּךָ כָל-תַּאֲוָתִי; וְאַנְחָתִי, מִמְּךָ לֹא-נִסְתָּרָה.
Adonai, negdecha khol-ta'avati; ve'anhati, mimkha lo-nistarah.
Lord, all my desire is before Thee; and my sighing is not hid from Thee.
11.
לִבִּי סְחַרְחַר, עֲזָבַנִי כֹחִי; וְאוֹר-עֵינַי גַּם-הֵם, אֵין אִתִּי.
libi sekharkhar, azavani khochi; ve'or-einay gam-hem, ein iti.
My heart fluttereth, my strength faileth me; as for the light of mine eyes, it also is gone from me.
12.
אֹהֲבַי, וְרֵעַי--מִנֶּגֶד נִגְעִי יַעֲמֹדוּ; וּקְרוֹבַי, מֵרָחֹק עָמָדוּ.
o'havay, vere'ay--minneged nig'i ya'amodu; ukrovay, merakhok amadu.
My friends and my companions stand aloof from my plague; and my kinsmen stand afar off.
13.
וַיְנַקְשׁוּ, מְבַקְשֵׁי נַפְשִׁי, וְדֹרְשֵׁי רָעָתִי, דִּבְּרוּ הַוּוֹת; וּמִרְמוֹת, כָּל-הַיּוֹם יֶהְגּוּ.
vaynakshu, mevakshei nafshi, vedoreshei ra'ati, dibru havot; umirmot, kol-hayom yehgu.
They also that seek after my life lay snares for me; and they that seek my hurt speak crafty devices, and utter deceits all the day.
14.
וַאֲנִי כְחֵרֵשׁ, לֹא אֶשְׁמָע; וּכְאִלֵּם, לֹא יִפְתַּח-פִּיו.
va'ani khecheresh, lo eshma; ukhe'ilem, lo yiftach-piv.
But I am as a deaf man, I hear not; and I am as a dumb man that openeth not his mouth.
15.
וָאֱהִי--כְּאִישׁ, אֲשֶׁר לֹא-שֹׁמֵעַ; וְאֵין בְּפִיו, תּוֹכָחוֹת.
va'ehi--ke'ish, asher lo-shome'a; ve'ein befiv, tokhochot.
Yea, I am become as a man that heareth not, and in whose mouth are no arguments.
16.
כִּי-לְךָ יְהוָה הוֹחָלְתִּי; אַתָּה תַעֲנֶה, אֲדֹנָי אֱלֹהָי.
ki-lecha YHWH hochalti; atah ta'aneh, Adonai Elohay.
For in Thee, O LORD, do I hope; Thou wilt answer, O Lord my God.
17.
כִּי-אָמַרְתִּי, פֶּן-יִשְׂמְחוּ-לִי; בְּמוֹט רַגְלִי, עָלַי הִגְדִּילוּ.
ki-amarti, pen-yishmehu-li; bemot ragli, alay higdilu.
For I said: 'Lest they rejoice over me; when my foot slippeth, they magnify themselves against me.'
18.
כִּי-אֲנִי, לְצֶלַע נָכוֹן; וּמַכְאוֹבִי נֶגְדִּי תָמִיד.
ki-ani, letsela nakhon; umakh'ovi negdi tamid.
For I am ready to halt, and my pain is continually before me.
19.
כִּי-עֲוֺנִי אַגִּיד; אֶדְאַג, מֵחַטָּאתִי.
ki-avoni aggid; ed'ag, mekhattati.
For I do declare mine iniquity; I am full of care because of my sin.
20.
וְאֹיְבַי, חַיִּים עָצֵמוּ; וְרַבּוּ שֹׂנְאַי שָׁקֶר.
ve'oyevay, khayim atsemu; verabu sone'ay shaker.
But mine enemies are strong in health; and they that hate me wrongfully are multiplied.
21.
וּמְשַׁלְּמֵי רָעָה, תַּחַת טוֹבָה-- יִשְׂטְנוּנִי, תַּחַת רדופי- רָדְפִי- טוֹב.
umeshalmei ra'ah, takhat tovah-- yis'tenuni, takhat rodfei- tov.
They also that repay evil for good are adversaries unto me, because I follow the thing that is good.
22.
אַל-תַּעַזְבֵנִי יְהוָה: אֱלֹהַי, אַל-תִּרְחַק מִמֶּנִּי.
al-ta'azveni YHWH: Elohay, al-tirkhak mimeni.
Forsake me not, O LORD; O my God, be not far from me.
23.
חוּשָׁה לְעֶזְרָתִי: אֲדֹנָי, תְּשׁוּעָתִי.
khushah le'ezrati: Adonai, tshu'ati.
Make haste to help me, O Lord, my salvation.
