שִׁיר, הַמַּעֲלוֹת:בְּשׁוּב יְהוָה, אֶת-שִׁיבַת צִיּוֹן-- הָיִינוּ, כְּחֹלְמִים.
shir hama'alot beshuv YHWH et-shivat Tziyon hayinu kekholim
A Song of Ascents. When the LORD brought back those that returned to Zion, we were like unto them that dream.
2.
אָז יִמָּלֵא שְׂחוֹק, פִּינוּ-- וּלְשׁוֹנֵנוּ רִנָּה:אָז, יֹאמְרוּ בַגּוֹיִם-- הִגְדִּיל יְהוָה, לַעֲשׂוֹת עִם-אֵלֶּה.
az yimale sekhook pinu uleshonenu rinah az yomru bagoyim higdil YHWH la'asot im-eleh
Then was our mouth filled with laughter, and our tongue with singing; then said they among the nations: 'The LORD hath done great things with these.'

הִגְדִּיל יְהוָה, לַעֲשׂוֹת עִמָּנוּ-- הָיִינוּ שְׂמֵחִים.
higdil YHWH la'asot imanu hayinu semekhim
The LORD hath done great things with us; we are rejoiced.
4.
שׁוּבָה יְהוָה, אֶת-שבותנו שְׁבִיתֵנוּ-- כַּאֲפִיקִים בַּנֶּגֶב.
shuvah YHWH et-shevitenu ka'afikim banegev.
Turn our captivity, O LORD, as the streams in the dry land.
5.
הַזֹּרְעִים בְּדִמְעָה-- בְּרִנָּה יִקְצֹרוּ.
hazore'im bedim'ah berinnah yiktzoru.
They that sow in tears shall reap in joy.
6.
הָלוֹךְ יֵלֵךְ, וּבָכֹה-- נֹשֵׂא מֶשֶׁךְ-הַזָּרַע:בֹּא-יָבֹא בְרִנָּה-- נֹשֵׂא, אֲלֻמֹּתָיו.
halokh yeilekh uvakhoh nose meshekh-hazarac bo-yavo berinnah nose alumotav.
Though he goeth on his way weeping that beareth the measure of seed, he shall come home with joy, bearing his sheaves.
