לַמְנַצֵּחַ, לְדָוִד:בַּיהוָה, חָסִיתִי--אֵיךְ, תֹּאמְרוּ לְנַפְשִׁי; נודו נוּדִי, הַרְכֶם צִפּוֹר.

lamnetzach, ledavid: ba'Adonai, chasiti--ekh, tomru lenafshi; nudi, harkhem tzipor.

For the Leader. [A Psalm] of David. In the LORD have I taken refuge; how say ye to my soul: 'Flee thou! to your mountain, ye birds'?

כִּי הִנֵּה הָרְשָׁעִים, יִדְרְכוּן קֶשֶׁת, כּוֹנְנוּ חִצָּם עַל-יֶתֶר--לִירוֹת בְּמוֹ-אֹפֶל, לְיִשְׁרֵי-לֵב.

ki hinneh haresh'im, yidrekun keshet, konenu khitzam al-yeter--lirot bemo-ofel, leyishrei-lev.

For, lo, the wicked bend the bow, they have made ready their arrow upon the string, that they may shoot in darkness at the upright in heart.

כִּי הַשָּׁתוֹת, יֵהָרֵסוּן-- צַדִּיק, מַה-פָּעָל.

ki hashatot, yeharesun--tzaddik, mah-pa'al.

When the foundations are destroyed, what hath the righteous wrought?

יְהוָה, בְּהֵיכַל קָדְשׁוֹ-- יְהוָה, בַּשָּׁמַיִם כִּסְאוֹ:עֵינָיו יֶחֱזוּ-- עַפְעַפָּיו יִבְחֲנוּ, בְּנֵי אָדָם.

YHWH, beheikhal kodsho--YHWH, bashamayim kis'o: einav yekhezu--af'appayiv yivkhanu, benei adam.

The LORD is in His holy temple, the LORD, His throne is in heaven; His eyes behold, His eyelids try, the children of men.

יְהוָה, צַדִּיק יִבְחָן: וְרָשָׁע, וְאֹהֵב חָמָס--שָׂנְאָה נַפְשׁוֹ.

YHWH, tzaddik yivkhan: verasha, ve'ohev khamas--sane'ah nafsho.

The LORD trieth the righteous; but the wicked and him that loveth violence His soul hateth.

יַמְטֵר עַל-רְשָׁעִים, פַּחִים: אֵשׁ וְגָפְרִית, וְרוּחַ זִלְעָפוֹת--מְנָת כּוֹסָם.

yamter al-resha'im, pachimb: esh vegafrit, veruach zilafot--menat kosam.

Upon the wicked He will cause to rain coals; fire and brimstone and burning wind shall be the portion of their cup.

כִּי-צַדִּיק יְהוָה, צְדָקוֹת אָהֵב; יָשָׁר, יֶחֱזוּ פָנֵימוֹ.

ki-tzadik YHWH, tzedakot ahev; yashar, yekhezu faneimo.

For the LORD is righteous, He loveth righteousness; the upright shall behold His face.
