אֹהֵב מוּסָר, אֹהֵב דָּעַת; וְשׂוֹנֵא תוֹכַחַת בָּעַר.
ohev musar, ohev da'at; ve'sone tokhathat ba'ar.
Whoso loveth knowledge loveth correction; but he that is brutish hateth reproof.

2.
טוֹב--יָפִיק רָצוֹן, מֵיְהוָה; וְאִישׁ מְזִמּוֹת יַרְשִׁיעַ.
tov yafik ratzon me'YHWH ve'ish mezimot yarshia.
A good man shall obtain favour of the LORD; but a man of wicked devices will He condemn.
3.
לֹא-יִכּוֹן אָדָם בְּרֶשַׁע; וְשֹׁרֶשׁ צַדִּיקִים, בַּל-יִמּוֹט.
lo-yikon adam beresha veshoresh tzaddikim bal-yimmot.
A man shall not be established by wickedness; but the root of the righteous shall never be moved.
4.
אֵשֶׁת-חַיִל, עֲטֶרֶת בַּעְלָהּ; וּכְרָקָב בְּעַצְמוֹתָיו מְבִישָׁה.
eshet-chayil ateret ba'lah ukhrakav be'atzmotav mevisha.
A virtuous woman is a crown to her husband; but she that doeth shamefully is as rottenness in his bones.
5.
מַחְשְׁבוֹת צַדִּיקִים מִשְׁפָּט; תַּחְבֻּלוֹת רְשָׁעִים מִרְמָה.
machshevot tzaddikim mishpat tachbulot resha'im mirmah.
The thoughts of the righteous are right; but the counsels of the wicked are deceit.
6.
דִּבְרֵי רְשָׁעִים אֱרָב-דָּם; וּפִי יְשָׁרִים, יַצִּילֵם.
divrei resha'im erav-dam; ufi yesharim, yatzilem.
The words of the wicked are to lie in wait for blood; but the mouth of the upright shall deliver them.
7.
הָפוֹךְ רְשָׁעִים וְאֵינָם; וּבֵית צַדִּיקִים יַעֲמֹד.
hafokh resha'im ve'einam; uveit tzaddikim ya'amod.
The wicked are overthrown, and are not; but the house of the righteous shall stand.
8.
לְפִי-שִׂכְלוֹ, יְהֻלַּל-אִישׁ; וְנַעֲוֵה-לֵב, יִהְיֶה לָבוּז.
lefi-sikhlo, yehullal-ish; vena'aveh-lev, yihyeh lavuz.
A man shall be commended according to his intelligence; but he that is of a distorted understanding shall be despised.
9.
טוֹב נִקְלֶה, וְעֶבֶד לוֹ-- מִמִּתְכַּבֵּד, וַחֲסַר-לָחֶם.
tov nikleh, ve'eved lo-- mimitkabed, vahasar-lahem.
Better is he that is lightly esteemed, and hath a servant, than he that playeth the man of rank, and lacketh bread.
10.
יוֹדֵעַ צַדִּיק, נֶפֶשׁ בְּהֶמְתּוֹ; וְרַחֲמֵי רְשָׁעִים, אַכְזָרִי.
Yodea tzadik, nefesh behemtow; verakhamei resha'im, akhzari.
A righteous man regardeth the life of his beast; but the tender mercies of the wicked are cruel.
11.
עֹבֵד אַדְמָתוֹ, יִשְׂבַּע-לָחֶם; וּמְרַדֵּף רֵיקִים חֲסַר-לֵב.
Oved admato, yisba-lakhem; umeradéf reikim khasar-lev.
He that tilleth his ground shall have plenty of bread; but he that followeth after vain things is void of understanding.
12.
חָמַד רָשָׁע, מְצוֹד רָעִים; וְשֹׁרֶשׁ צַדִּיקִים יִתֵּן.
Khamad rasha, metzod ra'im; veshoresh tzadikim yiten.
The wicked desireth the prey of evil men; but the root of the righteous yieldeth fruit.
13.
בְּפֶשַׁע שְׂפָתַיִם, מוֹקֵשׁ רָע; וַיֵּצֵא מִצָּרָה צַדִּיק.
Bephesha sefatayim, mokesh ra; vayetzei mitzara tzadik.
In the transgression of the lips is a snare to the evil man; but the righteous cometh out of trouble.
14.
מִפְּרִי פִי-אִישׁ, יִשְׂבַּע-טוֹב; וּגְמוּל יְדֵי-אָדָם, ישוב יָשִׁיב לוֹ.
mipri fi-ish yisba-tov ugemul yede-adam yashiv lo.
A man shall be satisfied with good by the fruit of his mouth, and the doings of a man's hands shall be rendered unto him.
15.
דֶּרֶךְ אֱוִיל, יָשָׁר בְּעֵינָיו; וְשֹׁמֵעַ לְעֵצָה חָכָם.
derekh evil yashar be'einav veshome'a le'etza khakham.
The way of a fool is straight in his own eyes; but he that is wise hearkeneth unto counsel.
16.
אֱוִיל--בַּיּוֹם, יִוָּדַע כַּעְסוֹ; וְכֹסֶה קָלוֹן עָרוּם.
evil bayom yivada ka'so vekhose kalon arum.
A fool's vexation is presently known; but a prudent man concealeth shame.
17.
יָפִיחַ אֱמוּנָה, יַגִּיד צֶדֶק; וְעֵד שְׁקָרִים מִרְמָה.
yafi'ach emuna yagid tzedek ve'ed shekarim mirmah.
He that breatheth forth truth uttereth righteousness; but a false witness deceit.
18.
יֵשׁ בּוֹטֶה, כְּמַדְקְרוֹת חָרֶב; וּלְשׁוֹן חֲכָמִים מַרְפֵּא.
Yesh boteh, kemadkerot kharev; uleshon khakhamim marpe.
There is that speaketh like the piercings of a sword; but the tongue of the wise is health.
19.
שְׂפַת-אֱמֶת, תִּכּוֹן לָעַד; וְעַד-אַרְגִּיעָה, לְשׁוֹן שָׁקֶר.
Sefat-emet, tikon la'ad; ve'ad-argi'ah, leshon shaker.
The lip of truth shall be established for ever; but a lying tongue is but for a moment.
20.
מִרְמָה, בְּלֶב-חֹרְשֵׁי רָע; וּלְיֹעֲצֵי שָׁלוֹם שִׂמְחָה.
Mirmah, belev-khorshei ra; uleyotzei shalom simkha.
Deceit is in the heart of them that devise evil; but to the counsellors of peace is joy.
21.
לֹא-יְאֻנֶּה לַצַּדִּיק כָּל-אָוֶן; וּרְשָׁעִים, מָלְאוּ רָע.
Lo-ye'unneh latzaddik kol-aven; uresha'im, male'u ra.
There shall no mischief befall the righteous; but the wicked are filled with evil.
22.
תּוֹעֲבַת יְהוָה, שִׂפְתֵי-שָׁקֶר; וְעֹשֵׂי אֱמוּנָה רְצוֹנוֹ.
to'avat YHWH, sifti-shaker; ve'osei emunah retzono.
Lying lips are an abomination to the LORD; but they that deal truly are His delight.
23.
אָדָם עָרוּם, כֹּסֶה דָּעַת; וְלֵב כְּסִילִים, יִקְרָא אִוֶּלֶת.
adam arum, koseh da'at; velev kesilim, yikra ivelet.
A prudent man concealeth knowledge; but the heart of fools proclaimeth foolishness.
24.
יַד-חָרוּצִים תִּמְשׁוֹל; וּרְמִיָּה, תִּהְיֶה לָמַס.
yad-charutzim timshol; uremiyah, tihyeh lamas.
The hand of the diligent shall bear rule; but the slothful shall be under tribute.
25.
דְּאָגָה בְלֶב-אִישׁ יַשְׁחֶנָּה; וְדָבָר טוֹב יְשַׂמְּחֶנָּה.
de'agah velev-ish yashchennah; vedavar tov yesamchennah.
Care in the heart of a man boweth it down; but a good word maketh it glad.
26.
יָתֵר מֵרֵעֵהוּ צַדִּיק; וְדֶרֶךְ רְשָׁעִים תַּתְעֵם.
yater mere'ehu tzaddik; vederekh resha'im tatte'em.
The righteous is guided by his friend; but the way of the wicked leadeth them astray.
27.
לֹא-יַחֲרֹךְ רְמִיָּה צֵידוֹ; וְהוֹן-אָדָם יָקָר חָרוּץ.
lo-yakharokh remiyah tzeido; vehon-adam yakar kharutz.
The slothful man shall not hunt his prey; but the precious substance of men is to be diligent.
28.
בְּאֹרַח-צְדָקָה חַיִּים; וְדֶרֶךְ נְתִיבָה אַל-מָוֶת.
be'orakh-tzedakah khayim; vederekh netivah al-mavet.
In the way of righteousness is life, and in the pathway thereof there is no death.
