מִשְׁלֵי, שְׁלֹמֹה:בֵּן חָכָם, יְשַׂמַּח-אָב; וּבֵן כְּסִיל, תּוּגַת אִמּוֹ.

לֹא-יוֹעִילוּ, אוֹצְרוֹת רֶשַׁע; וּצְדָקָה, תַּצִּיל מִמָּוֶת.
Lo-yo'ilu otzrot resha utzdakah tatzil mimmavet.
Treasures of wickedness profit nothing; but righteousness delivereth from death.
3.
לֹא-יַרְעִיב יְהוָה, נֶפֶשׁ צַדִּיק; וְהַוַּת רְשָׁעִים יֶהְדֹּף.
Lo-yar'iv YHWH nefesh tzadik vehavat rsha'im yehdof.
The LORD will not suffer the soul of the righteous to famish; but He thrusteth away the desire of the wicked.

רָאשׁ--עֹשֶׂה כַף-רְמִיָּה; וְיַד חָרוּצִים תַּעֲשִׁיר.
Rash 'oseh khaf-r'miyah vedyad kharutzim ta'ashir.
He becometh poor that dealeth with a slack hand; but the hand of the diligent maketh rich.
5.
אֹגֵר בַּקַּיִץ, בֵּן מַשְׂכִּיל; נִרְדָּם בַּקָּצִיר, בֵּן מֵבִישׁ.
oger baqayit, ben maskil; nirdam baqatzir, ben mevish.
A wise son gathereth in summer; but a son that doeth shamefully sleepeth in harvest.
6.
בְּרָכוֹת, לְרֹאשׁ צַדִּיק; וּפִי רְשָׁעִים, יְכַסֶּה חָמָס.
berakhot, lerosh tzaddik; ufi resha'im, yekhasseh khamas.
Blessings are upon the head of the righteous; but the mouth of the wicked concealeth violence.
7.
זֵכֶר צַדִּיק, לִבְרָכָה; וְשֵׁם רְשָׁעִים יִרְקָב.
zekher tzaddik, livrakha; veshem resha'im yirkav.
The memory of the righteous shall be for a blessing; but the name of the wicked shall rot.
8.
חֲכַם-לֵב, יִקַּח מִצְוֺת; וֶאֱוִיל שְׂפָתַיִם, יִלָּבֵט.
khakham-lev, yikkakh mitzvot; ve'evil sefatayim, yillavet.
The wise in heart will receive commandments; but a prating fool shall fall.
9.
הוֹלֵךְ בַּתֹּם, יֵלֶךְ בֶּטַח; וּמְעַקֵּשׁ דְּרָכָיו, יִוָּדֵעַ.
holekh battom, yelekh betakh; ume'akesh derakhav, yivade'a.
He that walketh uprightly walketh securely; but he that perverteth his ways shall be found out.
10.
קֹרֵץ עַיִן, יִתֵּן עַצָּבֶת; וֶאֱוִיל שְׂפָתַיִם, יִלָּבֵט.
koretz ayin, yiten atzavet; ve'evil sefatayim, yillavet.
He that winketh with the eye causeth sorrow; and a prating fool shall fall.
11.
מְקוֹר חַיִּים, פִּי צַדִּיק; וּפִי רְשָׁעִים, יְכַסֶּה חָמָס.
mekor chayim, pi tzadik; ufi resha'im, yekhasseh khamas.
The mouth of the righteous is a fountain of life; but the mouth of the wicked concealeth violence.
12.
שִׂנְאָה, תְּעֹרֵר מְדָנִים; וְעַל כָּל-פְּשָׁעִים, תְּכַסֶּה אַהֲבָה.
sin'ah, te'orer medanim; ve'al kol-pesha'im, tekhasseh ahavah.
Hatred stirreth up strifes; but love covereth all transgressions.
13.
בְּשִׂפְתֵי נָבוֹן, תִּמָּצֵא חָכְמָה; וְשֵׁבֶט, לְגֵו חֲסַר-לֵב.
besifte navon timatze khokhmah ve'shevet legev khasar-lev.
In the lips of him that hath discernment wisdom is found; but a rod is for the back of him that is void of understanding.
14.
חֲכָמִים יִצְפְּנוּ-דָעַת; וּפִי-אֱוִיל, מְחִתָּה קְרֹבָה.
khakhamim yitzpenu-da'at; ufi-evil mekhtah kerovah.
Wise men lay up knowledge; but the mouth of the foolish is an imminent ruin.
15.
הוֹן עָשִׁיר, קִרְיַת עֻזּוֹ; מְחִתַּת דַּלִּים רֵישָׁם.
hon 'ashir kiryat 'uzzo; mekhtat dallim reshamshe.
The rich man's wealth is his strong city; the ruin of the poor is their poverty.
16.
פְּעֻלַּת צַדִּיק לְחַיִּים; תְּבוּאַת רָשָׁע לְחַטָּאת.
pe'ullat tzaddik lekhayim; tevu'at rasha' lekhattat.
The wages of the righteous is life; the increase of the wicked is sin.
17.
אֹרַח לְחַיִּים, שׁוֹמֵר מוּסָר; וְעֹזֵב תּוֹכַחַת מַתְעֶה.
orakh lekhaim, shomer musar; ve'ozev tokhahat mat'eh.
He is in the way of life that heedeth instruction; but he that forsaketh reproof erreth.
18.
מְכַסֶּה שִׂנְאָה, שִׂפְתֵי-שָׁקֶר; וּמוֹצִא דִבָּה, הוּא כְסִיל.
mekhasse sin'ah, siftֵ-shaker; umotsi dibah, hu khesil.
He that hideth hatred is of lying lips; and he that uttereth a slander is a fool.
19.
בְּרֹב דְּבָרִים, לֹא יֶחְדַּל-פָּשַׁע; וְחוֹשֵׂךְ שְׂפָתָיו מַשְׂכִּיל.
berov devarim, lo yekhdal-pasha; vekhoshek sefatav maskil.
In the multitude of words there wanteth not transgression; but he that refraineth his lips is wise.
20.
כֶּסֶף נִבְחָר, לְשׁוֹן צַדִּיק; לֵב רְשָׁעִים כִּמְעָט.
kesef nivkhar, leshon tzadik; lev resha'im kim'at.
The tongue of the righteous is as choice silver; the heart of the wicked is little worth.
21.
שִׂפְתֵי צַדִּיק, יִרְעוּ רַבִּים; וֶאֱוִילִים, בַּחֲסַר-לֵב יָמוּתוּ.
siftei tzadidk, yir'u rabim; ve'evilim, bakhasar-lev yamutu.
The lips of the righteous feed many; but the foolish die for want of understanding.
22.
בִּרְכַּת יְהוָה, הִיא תַעֲשִׁיר; וְלֹא-יוֹסִף עֶצֶב עִמָּהּ.
birkhat YHWH, hi ta'ashir; velo-yosif etzev immah.
The blessing of the LORD, it maketh rich, and toil addeth nothing thereto.
23.
כִּשְׂחוֹק לִכְסִיל, עֲשׂוֹת זִמָּה; וְחָכְמָה, לְאִישׁ תְּבוּנָה.
kiskhok likhsil, asot zimah; vekhokhmah, le'ish tevunah.
It is as sport to a fool to do wickedness, and so is wisdom to a man of discernment.
24.
מְגוֹרַת רָשָׁע, הִיא תְבוֹאֶנּוּ; וְתַאֲוַת צַדִּיקִים יִתֵּן.
megorat rashaw, hi tevo'ennu; veta'avat tzaddikim yitten.
The fear of the wicked, it shall come upon him; and the desire of the righteous shall be granted.
25.
כַּעֲבוֹר סוּפָה, וְאֵין רָשָׁע; וְצַדִּיק, יְסוֹד עוֹלָם.
ka'avor sufah, ve'ein rashah; vetzaddik, yesod olam.
When the whirlwind passeth, the wicked is no more; but the righteous is an everlasting foundation.
26.
כַּחֹמֶץ, לַשִּׁנַּיִם--וְכֶעָשָׁן לָעֵינָיִם: כֵּן הֶעָצֵל, לְשֹׁלְחָיו.
kakhometetz, lashinnayim--vekhe'ashan la'einayim: ken he'atzel, lesholekhav.
As vinegar to the teeth, and as smoke to the eyes, so is the sluggard to them that send him.
27.
יִרְאַת יְהוָה, תּוֹסִיף יָמִים; וּשְׁנוֹת רְשָׁעִים תִּקְצֹרְנָה.
yir'at YHWH, tosif yamim; ushnot resha'im tik-tzorenah.
The fear of the LORD prolongeth days; but the years of the wicked shall be shortened.
28.
תּוֹחֶלֶת צַדִּיקִים שִׂמְחָה; וְתִקְוַת רְשָׁעִים תֹּאבֵד.
tokhelet tzaddikim simchah; vetikvat resha'im to'ved.
The hope of the righteous is gladness; but the expectation of the wicked shall perish.
29.
מָעוֹז לַתֹּם, דֶּרֶךְ יְהוָה; וּמְחִתָּה, לְפֹעֲלֵי אָוֶן.
ma'oz lattom, derekh YHWH; umeḥittah, lefo'alei aven.
The way of the LORD is a stronghold to the upright, but ruin to the workers of iniquity.
30.
צַדִּיק, לְעוֹלָם בַּל-יִמּוֹט; וּרְשָׁעִים, לֹא יִשְׁכְּנוּ-אָרֶץ.
tzaddik, le'olam bal-yimmot; uresha'im, lo yishkenu-aretz.
The righteous shall never be moved; but the wicked shall not inhabit the land.
31.
פִּי-צַדִּיק, יָנוּב חָכְמָה; וּלְשׁוֹן תַּהְפֻּכוֹת, תִּכָּרֵת.
pi-tzaddik, yanuv ḥokhmah; uleshon tahpukhot, tikkeret.
The mouth of the righteous buddeth with wisdom; but the froward tongue shall be cut off.
32.
שִׂפְתֵי צַדִּיק, יֵדְעוּן רָצוֹן; וּפִי רְשָׁעִים, תַּהְפֻּכוֹת.
siftei tzaddik, yede'un ratzon; ufi resha'im, tahpukhot.
The lips of the righteous know what is acceptable; but the mouth of the wicked is all frowardness.
