1.
וְאַתָּה בֵּית-לֶחֶם אֶפְרָתָה, צָעִיר לִהְיוֹת בְּאַלְפֵי יְהוּדָה--מִמְּךָ לִי יֵצֵא, לִהְיוֹת מוֹשֵׁל בְּיִשְׂרָאֵל; וּמוֹצָאֹתָיו מִקֶּדֶם, מִימֵי עוֹלָם.
ve'atah beit-lekhem efratah, tza'ir lihyot be'alfei yehudah--mimekha li yetze, lihyot moshel beYisrael; umotzotav mikedem, mimei olam.
But thou, Beth-lehem Ephrathah, which art little to be among the thousands of Judah, out of thee shall one come forth unto Me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth are from of old, from ancient days.
2.
לָכֵן יִתְּנֵם, עַד-עֵת יוֹלֵדָה יָלָדָה; וְיֶתֶר אֶחָיו, יְשׁוּבוּן עַל-בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל.
lakhen yitnenum, ad-et yoledah yaladah; veyeter ekhav, yeshuvun al-bnei Yisrael.
Therefore will He give them up, until the time that she who travaileth hath brought forth; then the residue of his brethren shall return with the children of Israel.
3.
וְעָמַד, וְרָעָה בְּעֹז יְהוָה--בִּגְאוֹן, שֵׁם יְהוָה אֱלֹהָיו; וְיָשָׁבוּ, כִּי-עַתָּה יִגְדַּל עַד-אַפְסֵי-אָרֶץ.
ve'amad vera'ah be'oz YHWH big'on shem YHWH Elohav veyashavu ki-atah yigdal ad-apsei-aretz.
And he shall stand, and shall feed his flock in the strength of the LORD, in the majesty of the name of the LORD his God; and they shall abide, for then shall he be great unto the ends of the earth.
4.
וְהָיָה זֶה, שָׁלוֹם; אַשּׁוּר כִּי-יָבוֹא בְאַרְצֵנוּ, וְכִי יִדְרֹךְ בְּאַרְמְנוֹתֵינוּ, וַהֲקֵמֹנוּ עָלָיו שִׁבְעָה רֹעִים, וּשְׁמֹנָה נְסִיכֵי אָדָם.
vehayah zeh shalom Ashur ki-yavo ve'artzenu vekִי yidrokh be'armenotenu vahaqemonu alav shiv'ah ro'im ushemonah nesikhei adam.
And this shall be peace: when the Assyrian shall come into our land, and when he shall tread in our palaces, then shall we raise against him seven shepherds, and eight princes among men.

וְרָעוּ אֶת-אֶרֶץ אַשּׁוּר, בַּחֶרֶב, וְאֶת-אֶרֶץ נִמְרֹד, בִּפְתָחֶיהָ; וְהִצִּיל, מֵאַשּׁוּר--כִּי-יָבוֹא בְאַרְצֵנוּ, וְכִי יִדְרֹךְ בִּגְבוּלֵנוּ.
vera'u et-eretz Ashur baḥerev ve'et-eretz Nimrod biftaḥeha vehatzil me'Ashur ki-yavo ve'artzenu vekִי yidrokh bigvulenu.
And they shall waste the land of Assyria with the sword, and the land of Nimrod with the keen-edged sword; and he shall deliver us from the Assyrian, when he cometh into our land, and when he treadeth within our border.
6.
וְהָיָה שְׁאֵרִית יַעֲקֹב, בְּקֶרֶב עַמִּים רַבִּים, כְּטַל מֵאֵת יְהוָה, כִּרְבִיבִים עֲלֵי-עֵשֶׂב--אֲשֶׁר לֹא-יְקַוֶּה לְאִישׁ, וְלֹא יְיַחֵל לִבְנֵי אָדָם.
vehayah she'erit Ya'akov beqerev amim rabim ketal me'et YHWH kirvivim alei-esev asher lo-yeqaveh le'ish velo yeyaḥel livnei adam.
And the remnant of Jacob shall be in the midst of many peoples, as dew from the LORD, as showers upon the grass, that are not looked for from man, nor awaited at the hands of the sons of men.
7.
וְהָיָה שְׁאֵרִית יַעֲקֹב בַּגּוֹיִם, בְּקֶרֶב עַמִּים רַבִּים, כְּאַרְיֵה בְּבַהֲמוֹת יַעַר, כִּכְפִיר בְּעֶדְרֵי-צֹאן--אֲשֶׁר אִם-עָבַר וְרָמַס וְטָרַף, וְאֵין מַצִּיל.
Vehayah she'erit Ya'akov bagoyim, beqerev amim rabim, ke'aryeh bevahamot ya'ar, kikfir be'edrei-tson--asher im-avar veramas vetaraf, ve'eyn matsil.
And the remnant of Jacob shall be among the nations, in the midst of many peoples, as a lion among the beasts of the forest, as a young lion among the flocks of sheep, who, if he go through, treadeth down and teareth in pieces, and there is none to deliver.
8.
תָּרֹם יָדְךָ, עַל-צָרֶיךָ; וְכָל-אֹיְבֶיךָ, יִכָּרֵתוּ.
Tarom yadkha, al-tsareykha; vekhol-oyveykha, yikaretu.
Let Thy hand be lifted up above Thine adversaries, and let all Thine enemies be cut off.
9.
וְהָיָה בַיּוֹם-הַהוּא נְאֻם-יְהוָה, וְהִכְרַתִּי סוּסֶיךָ מִקִּרְבֶּךָ; וְהַאֲבַדְתִּי, מַרְכְּבֹתֶיךָ.
Vehayah bayom-hahu neum-YHWH, vehikhrati suseykha miqirbekha; veha'avadti, markevoteykha.
And it shall come to pass in that day, saith the LORD, that I will cut off thy horses out of the midst of thee, and will destroy thy chariots;
10.
וְהִכְרַתִּי, עָרֵי אַרְצֶךָ; וְהָרַסְתִּי, כָּל-מִבְצָרֶיךָ.
Vehikhrati, arei artsekha; veharasti, kol-mivtsareykha.
And I will cut off the cities of thy land, and will throw down all thy strongholds;
11.
וְהִכְרַתִּי כְשָׁפִים, מִיָּדֶךָ; וּמְעוֹנְנִים, לֹא יִהְיוּ-לָךְ.
ve'hikhrati kheshafim, miyadekha; ume'onenim, lo yihyu-lakh.
And I will cut off witchcrafts out of thy hand; and thou shalt have no more soothsayers;
12.
וְהִכְרַתִּי פְסִילֶיךָ וּמַצֵּבוֹתֶיךָ, מִקִּרְבֶּךָ; וְלֹא-תִשְׁתַּחֲוֶה עוֹד, לְמַעֲשֵׂה יָדֶיךָ.
ve'hikhrati pesilekha umatzevoteikha, mikirbekha; ve'lo-tishtakhaveh od, lema'aseh yadeikha.
And I will cut off thy graven images and thy pillars out of the midst of thee; and thou shalt no more worship the work of thy hands.
13.
וְנָתַשְׁתִּי אֲשֵׁירֶיךָ, מִקִּרְבֶּךָ; וְהִשְׁמַדְתִּי, עָרֶיךָ.
ve'natashti asheireikha, mikirbekha; ve'hishmadti, areikha.
And I will pluck up thy Asherim out of the midst of thee; and I will destroy thine enemies.
14.
וְעָשִׂיתִי בְּאַף וּבְחֵמָה, נָקָם--אֶת-הַגּוֹיִם: אֲשֶׁר, לֹא שָׁמֵעוּ.
ve'asiti be'af uve'khemah, nakam--et-haggoyim, asher, lo shame'u.
And I will execute vengeance in anger and fury upon the nations, because they hearkened not.
