וַיְהִי, מִיָּמִים רַבִּים, אַחֲרֵי אֲשֶׁר-הֵנִיחַ יְהוָה לְיִשְׂרָאֵל מִכָּל-אֹיְבֵיהֶם, מִסָּבִיב; וִיהוֹשֻׁעַ זָקֵן, בָּא בַּיָּמִים.

vayhi, miyamim rabim, acharei asher-heniach YHWH leyisra'el mikkol-oyvehem, misaviv; vihoshua zaken, ba bayamim.

And it came to pass after many days, when the LORD had given rest unto Israel from all their enemies round about, and Joshua was old and well stricken in years;

וַיִּקְרָא יְהוֹשֻׁעַ, לְכָל-יִשְׂרָאֵל--לִזְקֵנָיו וּלְרָאשָׁיו, וּלְשֹׁפְטָיו וּלְשֹׁטְרָיו; וַיֹּאמֶר אֲלֵהֶם--אֲנִי זָקַנְתִּי, בָּאתִי בַּיָּמִים.

vayikra Yehoshua, lekhol-Yisrael--lizkenav ulroshav, uleshofatav uleshotrav; vayomer alehem--ani zakanti, bati bayamim.

that Joshua called for all Israel, for their elders and for their heads, and for their judges and for their officers, and said unto them: 'I am old and well stricken in years.

וְאַתֶּם רְאִיתֶם, אֵת כָּל-אֲשֶׁר עָשָׂה יְהוָה אֱלֹהֵיכֶם לְכָל-הַגּוֹיִם הָאֵלֶּה--מִפְּנֵיכֶם: כִּי יְהוָה אֱלֹהֵיכֶם, הוּא הַנִּלְחָם לָכֶם.

ve'atem re'item, et kol-asher asah YHWH Eloheikhem lekhol-hagoim ha'eleh--mipeneikhem: ki YHWH Eloheikhem, hu hanilcham lakhem.

And ye have seen all that the LORD your God hath done unto all these nations because of you; for the LORD your God, He it is that hath fought for you.

רְאוּ הִפַּלְתִּי לָכֶם אֶת-הַגּוֹיִם הַנִּשְׁאָרִים הָאֵלֶּה, בְּנַחֲלָה--לְשִׁבְטֵיכֶם: מִן-הַיַּרְדֵּן, וְכָל-הַגּוֹיִם אֲשֶׁר הִכְרַתִּי, וְהַיָּם הַגָּדוֹל, מְבוֹא הַשָּׁמֶשׁ.

reu hipalti lakhem et-hagoim hanish'arim ha'eleh, benachalah--leshivteikhem: min-hayarden, vekhol-hagoim asher hikrati, vehayam hagadol, mevo ha-shamesh.

Behold, I have allotted unto you for an inheritance, according to your tribes, these nations that remain, from the Jordan, with all the nations that I have cut off, even unto the Great Sea toward the going down of the sun.

וַיהוָה אֱלֹהֵיכֶם, הוּא יֶהְדֳּפֵם מִפְּנֵיכֶם, וְהוֹרִישׁ אֹתָם, מִלִּפְנֵיכֶם; וִירִשְׁתֶּם, אֶת-אַרְצָם, כַּאֲשֶׁר דִּבֶּר יְהוָה אֱלֹהֵיכֶם, לָכֶם.

vYHWH Eloheikhem, hu yehdofem mipeneikhem, vehorish otam, millifeneikhem; virishtem, et-artsam, ka'asher diber YHWH Eloheikhem, lakhem.

And the LORD your God, He shall thrust them out from before you, and drive them from out of your sight; and ye shall possess their land, as the LORD your God spoke unto you.

וַחֲזַקְתֶּם מְאֹד--לִשְׁמֹר וְלַעֲשׂוֹת, אֵת כָּל-הַכָּתוּב בְּסֵפֶר תּוֹרַת מֹשֶׁה: לְבִלְתִּי סוּר-מִמֶּנּוּ, יָמִין וּשְׂמֹאול.

vakhazaktem me'od lishmor vela'asot et kol hakatuv besefer torat Moshe levilti sur mimenu yamin usmol.

Therefore be ye very courageous to keep and to do all that is written in the book of the law of Moses, that ye turn not aside therefrom to the right hand or to the left;

לְבִלְתִּי-בֹא בַּגּוֹיִם הָאֵלֶּה, הַנִּשְׁאָרִים הָאֵלֶּה אִתְּכֶם; וּבְשֵׁם אֱלֹהֵיהֶם לֹא-תַזְכִּירוּ, וְלֹא תַשְׁבִּיעוּ, וְלֹא תַעַבְדוּם, וְלֹא תִשְׁתַּחֲווּ לָהֶם.

levilti vo bagoyim ha'eleh hanisharim ha'eleh itkhem uveshem eloheyhem lo tazkiru velo tashbi'u velo ta'avdum velo tishtakhavu lahem.

that ye come not among these nations, these that remain among you; neither make mention of the name of their gods, nor cause to swear by them, neither serve them, nor worship them;

כִּי אִם-בַּיהוָה אֱלֹהֵיכֶם, תִּדְבָּקוּ, כַּאֲשֶׁר עֲשִׂיתֶם, עַד הַיּוֹם הַזֶּה.

ki im baYHWH eloheykhem tidbaku ka'asher asitem ad hayom hazeh.

but cleave unto the LORD your God, as ye have done unto this day;

וַיּוֹרֶשׁ יְהוָה מִפְּנֵיכֶם, גּוֹיִם גְּדֹלִים וַעֲצוּמִים; וְאַתֶּם, לֹא-עָמַד אִישׁ בִּפְנֵיכֶם, עַד, הַיּוֹם הַזֶּה.

vayoresh YHWH mipeneykhem goyim gedolim va'atzumim ve'atem lo amad ish bifneykhem ad hayom hazeh.

wherefore the LORD hath driven out from before you great nations and mighty; but as for you, no man hath stood against you unto this day.

10.

אִישׁ-אֶחָד מִכֶּם, יִרְדָּף-אָלֶף: כִּי יְהוָה אֱלֹהֵיכֶם, הוּא הַנִּלְחָם לָכֶם, כַּאֲשֶׁר, דִּבֶּר לָכֶם.

ish-ekhad mikem, yirdaf-alef: ki YHWH Eloheykhem, hu hanilham lakhem, ka'asher, diber lakhem.

One man of you hath chased a thousand; for the LORD your God, He it is that fought for you, as He spoke unto you.

11.

וְנִשְׁמַרְתֶּם מְאֹד, לְנַפְשֹׁתֵיכֶם, לְאַהֲבָה, אֶת-יְהוָה אֱלֹהֵיכֶם.

venishmartem me'od, lenafshotekhem, le'ahavah, et-YHWH Eloheykhem.

Take good heed therefore unto yourselves, that ye love the LORD your God.

12.

כִּי אִם-שׁוֹב תָּשׁוּבוּ, וּדְבַקְתֶּם בְּיֶתֶר הַגּוֹיִם הָאֵלֶּה, הַנִּשְׁאָרִים הָאֵלֶּה, אִתְּכֶם; וְהִתְחַתַּנְתֶּם בָּהֶם וּבָאתֶם בָּהֶם, וְהֵם בָּכֶם.

ki im-shov tashuvu, udvektem beyeter hagoyim ha'eleh, hanish'arim ha'eleh, itkhem; vehithatantem bahem uvatem bahem, vehem bakhem.

Else if ye do in any wise go back, and cleave unto the remnant of these nations, even these that remain among you, and make marriages with them, and go in unto them, and they to you;

13.

יָדוֹעַ, תֵּדְעוּ, כִּי לֹא יוֹסִיף יְהוָה אֱלֹהֵיכֶם לְהוֹרִישׁ אֶת-הַגּוֹיִם הָאֵלֶּה, מִלִּפְנֵיכֶם; וְהָיוּ לָכֶם לְפַח וּלְמוֹקֵשׁ, וּלְשֹׁטֵט בְּצִדֵּיכֶם וְלִצְנִנִים בְּעֵינֵיכֶם, עַד-אֲבָדְכֶם מֵעַל הָאֲדָמָה הַטּוֹבָה הַזֹּאת, אֲשֶׁר נָתַן לָכֶם יְהוָה אֱלֹהֵיכֶם.

yado'a, tedu, ki lo yosif YHWH Eloheykhem lehorish et-hagoyim ha'eleh, milifneykhem; vehayu lakhem lefakh ulmokesh, ulshtet betzidykhem ultsnintim be'eyneykhem, ad-avadkem me'al ha'adamah hatovah hazot, asher natan lakhem YHWH Eloheykhem.

know for a certainty that the LORD your God will no more drive these nations from out of your sight; but they shall be a snare and a trap unto you, and a scourge in your sides, and pricks in your eyes, until ye perish from off this good land which the LORD your God hath given you.

14.

וְהִנֵּה אָנֹכִי הוֹלֵךְ הַיּוֹם, בְּדֶרֶךְ כָּל-הָאָרֶץ; וִידַעְתֶּם בְּכָל-לְבַבְכֶם וּבְכָל-נַפְשְׁכֶם, כִּי לֹא-נָפַל דָּבָר אֶחָד מִכֹּל הַדְּבָרִים הַטּוֹבִים אֲשֶׁר דִּבֶּר יְהוָה אֱלֹהֵיכֶם עֲלֵיכֶם--הַכֹּל בָּאוּ לָכֶם, לֹא-נָפַל מִמֶּנּוּ דָּבָר אֶחָד.

vehineh anokhi holekh hayom, bederekh kol-ha'aretz; vida'tem bekhol-levavkhem uvekhol-nafshekhem, ki lo-nafal davar echad mikol hadevarim hatovim asher diber YHWH Eloheikhem aleikhem--hakol ba'u lakhem, lo-nafal mimenu davar echad.

And, behold, this day I am going the way of all the earth; consider ye therefore in all your heart and in all your soul, that not one thing hath failed of all the good things which the LORD your God spoke concerning you; all are come to pass unto you, not one thing hath failed thereof.

15.

וְהָיָה, כַּאֲשֶׁר-בָּא עֲלֵיכֶם כָּל-הַדָּבָר הַטּוֹב, אֲשֶׁר דִּבֶּר יְהוָה אֱלֹהֵיכֶם, אֲלֵיכֶם: כֵּן יָבִיא יְהוָה עֲלֵיכֶם, אֵת כָּל-הַדָּבָר הָרָע--עַד-הַשְׁמִידוֹ אוֹתְכֶם מֵעַל הָאֲדָמָה הַטּוֹבָה הַזֹּאת, אֲשֶׁר נָתַן לָכֶם יְהוָה אֱלֹהֵיכֶם.

vehayah, ka'asher-ba aleikhem kol-hadavar hatov, asher diber YHWH Eloheikhem, aleikhem: ken yavi YHWH aleikhem, et kol-hadavar hara'--ad-hashmido otkhem me'al ha'adamah hatovah hazot, asher natan lakhem YHWH Eloheikhem.

And it shall come to pass, that as all the good things are come upon you of which the LORD your God spoke unto you, so shall the LORD bring upon you all the evil things, until He have destroyed you from off this good land which the LORD your God hath given you.

16.

בְּעָבְרְכֶם אֶת-בְּרִית יְהוָה אֱלֹהֵיכֶם, אֲשֶׁר צִוָּה אֶתְכֶם, וַהֲלַכְתֶּם וַעֲבַדְתֶּם אֱלֹהִים אֲחֵרִים, וְהִשְׁתַּחֲוִיתֶם לָהֶם--וְחָרָה אַף-יְהוָה, בָּכֶם, וַאֲבַדְתֶּם מְהֵרָה, מֵעַל הָאָרֶץ הַטּוֹבָה אֲשֶׁר נָתַן לָכֶם.

be'avrekhem et-berit YHWH Eloheikhem, asher tzivah etkhem, vahalakhtem va'avadtem Elohim acherim, vehishtachavithem lahem--vecharah af-YHWH, bakhem, va'avadtem meherah, me'al ha'aretz hatovah asher natן lakhem.

When ye transgress the covenant of the LORD your God, which He commanded you, and go and serve other gods, and worship them; then shall the anger of the LORD be kindled against you, and ye shall perish quickly from off the good land which He hath given unto you.'
