וַיְהִי דְבַר-יְהוָה, אֵלַי לֵאמֹר.
vayehi devar-YHWH, elay lemor.
Moreover the word of the LORD came unto me, saying:

וְאַתָּה בֶן-אָדָם, כֹּה-אָמַר אֲדֹנָי יְהוִה לְאַדְמַת יִשְׂרָאֵל--קֵץ: בָּא הַקֵּץ, עַל-ארבעת אַרְבַּע כַּנְפוֹת הָאָרֶץ.
ve'attah ven-adam, koh-amar Adonai YHWH le'admat Yisrael--kets: ba hakets, al-arba'at arba kanfot ha'aretz.
'And thou, son of man, thus saith the Lord GOD concerning the land of Israel: An end! the end is come upon the four corners of the land.

עַתָּה, הַקֵּץ עָלַיִךְ, וְשִׁלַּחְתִּי אַפִּי בָּךְ, וּשְׁפַטְתִּיךְ כִּדְרָכָיִךְ; וְנָתַתִּי עָלַיִךְ, אֵת כָּל-תּוֹעֲבוֹתָיִךְ.
attah, hakets alayikh, veshillachti api bakh, ushefatttikh kidrakhayikh; venatatti alayikh, et kol-to'avotayikh.
Now is the end upon thee, and I will send Mine anger upon thee, and will judge thee according to thy ways; and I will bring upon thee all thine abominations.
4.
וְלֹא-תָחוֹס עֵינִי עָלַיִךְ, וְלֹא אֶחְמוֹל: כִּי דְרָכַיִךְ עָלַיִךְ אֶתֵּן, וְתוֹעֲבוֹתַיִךְ בְּתוֹכֵךְ תִּהְיֶיןָ, וִידַעְתֶּם, כִּי-אֲנִי יְהוָה.
velo-thakhos eini alayikh, velo echmol: ki derakhayikh alayikh eten, veto'avotayikh betokhekh tihyeyn, vida'tem, ki-ani YHWH.
And Mine eye shall not spare thee, neither will I have pity; but I will bring thy ways upon thee, and thine abominations shall be in the midst of thee; and ye shall know that I am the LORD.
5.
כֹּה אָמַר, אֲדֹנָי יְהוִה: רָעָה אַחַת רָעָה, הִנֵּה בָאָה.
koh amar, Adonai YHWH: ra'ah achat ra'ah, hinneh va'ah.
Thus saith the Lord GOD: An evil, a singular evil, behold, it cometh.
6.
קֵץ בָּא, בָּא הַקֵּץ הֵקִיץ אֵלָיִךְ; הִנֵּה, בָּאָה.
kets ba, ba hakets hekits elayikh; hineh, ba'ah.
An end is come, the end is come, it awaketh against thee; behold, it cometh.
7.
בָּאָה הַצְּפִירָה אֵלֶיךָ, יוֹשֵׁב הָאָרֶץ; בָּא הָעֵת, קָרוֹב הַיּוֹם מְהוּמָה--וְלֹא-הֵד הָרִים.
ba'ah hatzfirah eleykha, yoshev ha'aretz; ba ha'et, karov hayom mehumah--velo-hed harim.
The turn is come unto thee, O inhabitant of the land; the time is come, the day of tumult is near, and not of joyful shouting upon the mountains.
8.
עַתָּה מִקָּרוֹב, אֶשְׁפּוֹךְ חֲמָתִי עָלַיִךְ, וְכִלֵּיתִי אַפִּי בָּךְ, וּשְׁפַטְתִּיךְ כִּדְרָכָיִךְ; וְנָתַתִּי עָלַיִךְ, אֵת כָּל-תּוֹעֲבוֹתָיִךְ.
atah mikarov, eshpokh khamati alayikh, vekhileti api bakh, ushfatikh kidrakhayikh; venatati alayikh, et kol-to'avotayikh.
Now will I shortly pour out My fury upon thee, and spend Mine anger upon thee, and will judge thee according to thy ways; and I will bring upon thee all thine abominations.
9.
וְלֹא-תָחוֹס עֵינִי, וְלֹא אֶחְמוֹל: כִּדְרָכַיִךְ עָלַיִךְ אֶתֵּן, וְתוֹעֲבוֹתַיִךְ בְּתוֹכֵךְ תִּהְיֶיןָ, וִידַעְתֶּם, כִּי אֲנִי יְהוָה מַכֶּה.
velo-takhos eini, velo akhmol: kidrakhayikh alayikh eten, veto'avotayikh betokhekh tihyeyna, vida'etem, ki ani YHWH makeh.
And Mine eye shall not spare, neither will I have pity; I will bring upon thee according to thy ways, and thine abominations shall be in the midst of thee; and ye shall know that I the LORD do smite.
10.
הִנֵּה הַיּוֹם, הִנֵּה בָאָה: יָצְאָה, הַצְּפִרָה--צָץ הַמַּטֶּה, פָּרַח הַזָּדוֹן.
hineh hayom, hineh ba'ah: yatze'ah, hatzfirah--tzatz hamateh, parach hazadon.
Behold the day; behold, it cometh; the turn is come forth; the rod hath blossomed, arrogancy hath budded.
11.
הֶחָמָס קָם, לְמַטֵּה-רֶשַׁע; לֹא-מֵהֶם וְלֹא מֵהֲמוֹנָם, וְלֹא מֶהֱמֵהֶם--וְלֹא-נֹהַּ בָּהֶם.
hekhamas kam, lematteh-resha'; lo-mehem velo mehonam, velo mehemehem--velo-noh bahem.
Violence is risen up into a rod of wickedness; nought cometh from them, nor from their tumult, nor from their turmoil, neither is there eminency among them.
12.
בָּא הָעֵת, הִגִּיעַ הַיּוֹם--הַקּוֹנֶה אַל-יִשְׂמָח, וְהַמֹּכֵר אַל-יִתְאַבָּל: כִּי חָרוֹן, אֶל-כָּל-הֲמוֹנָהּ.
ba ha'et, higi'a hayom--hakkoneh al-yismakh, vehammoker al-yit'aval: ki kharon, el-kol-hamonah.
The time is come, the day draweth near; let not the buyer rejoice, nor the seller mourn; for wrath is upon all the multitude thereof.
13.
כִּי הַמֹּכֵר, אֶל-הַמִּמְכָּר לֹא יָשׁוּב, וְעוֹד בַּחַיִּים, חַיָּתָם: כִּי-חָזוֹן אֶל-כָּל-הֲמוֹנָהּ לֹא יָשׁוּב, וְאִישׁ בַּעֲוֺנוֹ חַיָּתוֹ לֹא יִתְחַזָּקוּ.
ki hammoker, el-hamimkar lo yashuv, ve'od bakhayyim, khayyatam: ki-khazon el-kol-hamonah lo yashuv, ve'ish ba'avono khayyatato lo yitkhazzaku.
For the seller shall not return to that which is sold, although they be yet alive; for the vision is touching the whole multitude thereof, which shall not return; neither shall any stand possessed of the iniquity of his life.
14.
תָּקְעוּ בַתָּקוֹעַ וְהָכִין הַכֹּל, וְאֵין הֹלֵךְ לַמִּלְחָמָה: כִּי חֲרוֹנִי, אֶל-כָּל-הֲמוֹנָהּ.
tak'u vatakoa vehakhin hakol, ve'ein holekh lamilhamah: ki kharoni, el-kol-hamonah.
They have blown the horn, and have made all ready, but none goeth to the battle; for My wrath is upon all the multitude thereof.
15.
הַחֶרֶב בַּחוּץ, וְהַדֶּבֶר וְהָרָעָב מִבָּיִת: אֲשֶׁר בַּשָּׂדֶה, בַּחֶרֶב יָמוּת, וַאֲשֶׁר בָּעִיר, רָעָב וָדֶבֶר יֹאכְלֶנּוּ.
hakherev bakhutz, vehadever veharav mibayit: asher bashadeh, bakhherev yamut, va'asher ba'ir, ra'av vadever yokhelennu.
The sword is without, and the pestilence and the famine within; he that is in the field shall die with the sword, and he that is in the city, famine and pestilence shall devour him.
16.
וּפָלְטוּ, פְּלִיטֵיהֶם, וְהָיוּ אֶל-הֶהָרִים כְּיוֹנֵי הַגֵּאָיוֹת כֻּלָּם, הֹמוֹת--אִישׁ, בַּעֲוֺנוֹ.
uphaletu, peliteihem, vehayu el-heharim keyonei hage'ayot kullam, homot--ish, ba'avono.
But they that shall at all escape of them, shall be on the mountains like doves of the valleys, all of them moaning, every one in his iniquity.
17.
כָּל-הַיָּדַיִם, תִּרְפֶּינָה; וְכָל-בִּרְכַּיִם, תֵּלַכְנָה מָּיִם.
kol-hayadayim, tirpeinah; vekhol-birkayim, telakhnah mayim.
All hands shall be slack, and all knees shall drip with water.
18.
וְחָגְרוּ שַׂקִּים, וְכִסְּתָה אוֹתָם פַּלָּצוּת; וְאֶל כָּל-פָּנִים בּוּשָׁה, וּבְכָל-רָאשֵׁיהֶם קָרְחָה.
vechageru saqim, vekhissetah otam pallatzut; ve'el kol-panim bushah, uvvekhol-rasheihem qarchah.
They shall also gird themselves with sackcloth, and horror shall cover them; and shame shall be upon all faces, and baldness upon all their heads.
19.
כַּסְפָּם בַּחוּצוֹת יַשְׁלִיכוּ, וּזְהָבָם לְנִדָּה יִהְיֶה--כַּסְפָּם וּזְהָבָם לֹא-יוּכַל לְהַצִּילָם בְּיוֹם עֶבְרַת יְהוָה, נַפְשָׁם לֹא יְשַׂבֵּעוּ וּמֵעֵיהֶם לֹא יְמַלֵּאוּ: כִּי-מִכְשׁוֹל עֲוֺנָם, הָיָה.
kaspam bachutzot yashliku, uzehavam leniddah yihyeh--kaspam uzehavam lo-yukhal lehatzilam beyom evrat YHWH, nafsham lo yesabe'u ume'eihem lo yemalle'u: ki-mikshol avonam, hayyah.
They shall cast their silver in the streets, and their gold shall be as an unclean thing; their silver and their gold shall not be able to deliver them in the day of the wrath of the LORD; they shall not satisfy their souls, neither fill their bowels; because it hath been the stumblingblock of their iniquity.
20.
וּצְבִי עֶדְיוֹ לְגָאוֹן שָׂמָהוּ, וְצַלְמֵי תוֹעֲבֹתָם שִׁקּוּצֵיהֶם עָשׂוּ בוֹ; עַל-כֵּן נְתַתִּיו לָהֶם, לְנִדָּה.
utzevi edyo lega'on samahu, vetzalmei to'avotam shiqqutseihem ashu bo; al-ken netattiv lahem, leniddah.
And as for the beauty of their ornament, which was set for a pride, they made the images of their abominations and their detestable things thereof; therefore have I made it unto them as an unclean thing.
21.
וּנְתַתִּיו בְּיַד-הַזָּרִים לָבַז, וּלְרִשְׁעֵי הָאָרֶץ לְשָׁלָל; וחללוה וְחִלְּלוּהוּ.
unetattiv beyad-hazzarim lavaz, ulerish'ei ha'aretz leshalal; vechilluhu vechilluhu.
And I will give it into the hands of the strangers for a prey, and to the wicked of the earth for a spoil; and they shall profane it.
22.
וַהֲסִבּוֹתִי פָנַי מֵהֶם, וְחִלְּלוּ אֶת-צְפוּנִי; וּבָאוּ-בָהּ פָּרִיצִים, וְחִלְּלוּהָ.
vahasiboti fanay mehem, vekhillu et-tsefunִי; uva'u-vah paritsim, vekhilluha.
I will also turn My face from them, and they shall profane My secret place; and robbers shall enter into it, and profane it.
23.
עֲשֵׂה, הָרַתּוֹק: כִּי הָאָרֶץ, מָלְאָה מִשְׁפַּט דָּמִים, וְהָעִיר, מָלְאָה חָמָס.
'aseh, harattok: ki ha'aretz, mala'ah mishpat damim, veha'ir, mala'ah khamas.
Make the chain; for the land is full of bloody crimes, and the city is full of violence.
24.
וְהֵבֵאתִי רָעֵי גוֹיִם, וְיָרְשׁוּ אֶת-בָּתֵּיהֶם; וְהִשְׁבַּתִּי גְּאוֹן עַזִּים, וְנִחֲלוּ מְקַדְשֵׁיהֶם.
veheveati ra'ei goyim, veyarshu et-bateihem; vehishbati ge'on 'azzim, venikhalu mekadseihem.
Wherefore I will bring the worst of the nations, and they shall possess their houses; I will also make the pride of the strong to cease; and their holy places shall be profaned.
25.
קְפָדָה-בָא; וּבִקְשׁוּ שָׁלוֹם, וָאָיִן.
kefadah-va; uvikshu shalom, va'ayin.
Horror cometh; and they shall seek peace, and there shall be none.
26.
הֹוָה עַל-הֹוָה תָּבוֹא, וּשְׁמֻעָה אֶל-שְׁמוּעָה תִּהְיֶה; וּבִקְשׁוּ חָזוֹן, מִנָּבִיא--וְתוֹרָה תֹּאבַד מִכֹּהֵן, וְעֵצָה מִזְּקֵנִים.
hovah al-hovah tavo, ushmuah el-shmuah tihyeh; uvikshu khazon, minavi--vetorah tovad mikohen, ve'etzah mizkenim.
Calamity shall come upon calamity, and rumour shall be upon rumour; and they shall seek a vision of the prophet, and instruction shall perish from the priest, and counsel from the elders.
27.
הַמֶּלֶךְ יִתְאַבָּל, וְנָשִׂיא יִלְבַּשׁ שְׁמָמָה, וִידֵי עַם-הָאָרֶץ, תִּבָּהַלְנָה; מִדַּרְכָּם אֶעֱשֶׂה אֹתָם, וּבְמִשְׁפְּטֵיהֶם אֶשְׁפְּטֵם, וְיָדְעוּ, כִּי-אֲנִי יְהוָה.
hamelekh yit'abal, venasi yilbash shemamah, videi am-ha'aretz, tibahalnah; middarkam e'eseh otam, uvemishpetehem eshpetem, veyade'u, ki-ani YHWH.
The king shall mourn, and the prince shall be clothed with appalment, and the hands of the people of the land shall be enfeebled; I will do unto them after their way, and according to their deserts will I judge them; and they shall know that I am the LORD.'
