1.
וַיְשִׁבֵנִי, אֶל-פֶּתַח הַבַּיִת, וְהִנֵּה-מַיִם יֹצְאִים מִתַּחַת מִפְתַּן הַבַּיִת קָדִימָה, כִּי-פְנֵי הַבַּיִת קָדִים; וְהַמַּיִם יֹרְדִים, מִתַּחַת מִכֶּתֶף הַבַּיִת הַיְמָנִית, מִנֶּגֶב, לַמִּזְבֵּחַ.
vayshiveni el-petach habayit vhinneh-mayim yotzim mitachat miftan habayit kadimah ki-pney habayit kadim vhamayim yordim mitachat miketef habayit haymanit minegev lamizbe'ach.
And he brought me back unto the door of the house; and, behold, waters issued out from under the threshold of the house eastward, for the forefront of the house looked toward the east; and the waters came down from under, from the right side of the house, on the south of the altar.
2.
וַיּוֹצִאֵנִי, דֶּרֶךְ-שַׁעַר צָפוֹנָה, וַיְסִבֵּנִי דֶּרֶךְ חוּץ, אֶל-שַׁעַר הַחוּץ דֶּרֶךְ הַפּוֹנֶה קָדִים; וְהִנֵּה-מַיִם מְפַכִּים, מִן-הַכָּתֵף הַיְמָנִית.
vayotzi'eni derech-sha'ar tzafonah vaysibeni derech chutz el-sha'ar hachutz derech hapone kadim vhinneh-mayim mfakkim min-hakkatef haymanit.
Then brought he me out by the way of the gate northward, and led me round by the way without unto the outer gate, by the way of the gate that looketh toward the east; and, behold, there trickled forth waters on the right side.
3.
בְּצֵאת-הָאִישׁ קָדִים, וְקָו בְּיָדוֹ; וַיָּמָד אֶלֶף בָּאַמָּה, וַיַּעֲבִרֵנִי בַמַּיִם מֵי אָפְסָיִם.
btzet-ha'ish kadim vqav byado vayamad elef ba'amma vayya'avireni vamayim mey afsayim.
When the man went forth eastward with the line in his hand, he measured a thousand cubits, and he caused me to pass through the waters, waters that were to the ankles.
4.
וַיָּמָד אֶלֶף, וַיַּעֲבִרֵנִי בַמַּיִם מַיִם בִּרְכָּיִם; וַיָּמָד אֶלֶף, וַיַּעֲבִרֵנִי מֵי מָתְנָיִם.
vayamad elef, vaya'avireni bamayim mayim birkayim; vayamad elef, vaya'avireni mei motnayim.
Again he measured a thousand, and caused me to pass through the waters, waters that were to the knees. Again he measured a thousand, and caused me to pass through waters that were to the loins.

וַיָּמָד אֶלֶף--נַחַל, אֲשֶׁר לֹא-אוּכַל לַעֲבֹר: כִּי-גָאוּ הַמַּיִם מֵי שָׂחוּ, נַחַל אֲשֶׁר לֹא-יֵעָבֵר.
vayamad elef--nachal, asher lo-ukhal la'avor: ki-gau hamayim mei sachu, nachal asher lo-ye'aver.
Afterward he measured a thousand; and it was a river that I could not pass through; for the waters were risen, waters to swim in, a river that could not be passed through.
6.
וַיֹּאמֶר אֵלַי, הֲרָאִיתָ בֶן-אָדָם; וַיּוֹלִכֵנִי וַיְשִׁבֵנִי, שְׂפַת הַנָּחַל.
vayomer elay, hara'ita ven-adam; vayolikheni vayeshiveni, sefat hanachal.
And he said unto me: 'Hast thou seen this, O son of man?' Then he led me, and caused me to return to the bank of the river.
7.
בְּשׁוּבֵנִי--וְהִנֵּה אֶל-שְׂפַת הַנַּחַל, עֵץ רַב מְאֹד: מִזֶּה, וּמִזֶּה.
beshuveni--vehineh el-sefat hanachal, ets rav me'od: mizeh, umizeh.
Now when I had been brought back, behold, upon the bank of the river were very many trees on the one side and on the other.
8.
וַיֹּאמֶר אֵלַי, הַמַּיִם הָאֵלֶּה יוֹצְאִים אֶל-הַגְּלִילָה הַקַּדְמוֹנָה, וְיָרְדוּ, עַל-הָעֲרָבָה; וּבָאוּ הַיָּמָּה, אֶל-הַיָּמָּה הַמּוּצָאִים וְנִרְפּאוּ הַמָּיִם.
vayomer elay, hammayim ha'elleh yotze'im el-haggelilah haqqadmonah, veyredu, al-ha'aravah; uva'u hayyammah, el-hayyammah hammutza'im venirpe'u hammayim.
Then said he unto me: 'These waters issue forth toward the eastern region, and shall go down into the Arabah; and when they shall enter into the sea, into the sea of the putrid waters, the waters shall be healed.
9.
וְהָיָה כָל-נֶפֶשׁ חַיָּה אֲשֶׁר-יִשְׁרֹץ אֶל כָּל-אֲשֶׁר יָבוֹא שָׁם נַחֲלַיִם, יִחְיֶה, וְהָיָה הַדָּגָה, רַבָּה מְאֹד: כִּי בָאוּ שָׁמָּה הַמַּיִם הָאֵלֶּה, וְיֵרָפְאוּ וָחָי--כֹּל אֲשֶׁר-יָבוֹא שָׁמָּה, הַנָּחַל.
vehayah khol-nefesh hayyah asher-yishrotz el kol-asher yavo sham nahalayim, yihyeh, vehayah hadagah, rabbah me'od: ki va'u shammah hammayim ha'elleh, veyerafe'u vakhay--kol asher-yavo shammah, hannahal.
And it shall come to pass, that every living creature wherewith it swarmeth, whithersoever the rivers shall come, shall live; and there shall be a very great multitude of fish; for these waters are come thither, that all things be healed and may live whithersoever the river cometh.
10.
וְהָיָה יעמדו עָמְדוּ עָלָיו דַּוָּגִים, מֵעֵין גֶּדִי וְעַד-עֵין עֶגְלַיִם--מִשְׁטוֹחַ לַחֲרָמִים, יִהְיוּ; לְמִינָה תִּהְיֶה דְגָתָם, כִּדְגַת הַיָּם הַגָּדוֹל רַבָּה מְאֹד.
vehayah ya'amdu amdu alav davvagim, me'ein gedi ve'ad-ein eglayim--mishtofach lakharamim, yihyu; leminah tihyeh degatam, kidgat hayyam haggadol rabbah me'od.
And it shall come to pass, that fishers shall stand by it from En-gedi even unto En-eglaim; there shall be a place for the spreading of nets; their fish shall be after their kinds, as the fish of the Great Sea, exceeding many.
11.
בִּצֹּאתָו וּגְבָאָיו וְלֹא יֵרָפְאוּ, לְמֶלַח נִתָּנוּ.
bitzotav ugeba'av velo yerafe'u, lemelah nittanu.
But the miry places thereof, and the marshes thereof, shall not be healed; they shall be given for salt.
12.
וְעַל-הַנַּחַל יַעֲלֶה עַל-שְׂפָתוֹ מִזֶּה וּמִזֶּה כָּל-עֵץ-מַאֲכָל לֹא-יִבּוֹל עָלֵהוּ וְלֹא-יִתֹּם פִּרְיוֹ, לָחֳדָשָׁיו יְבַכֵּר--כִּי מֵימָיו, מִן-הַמִּקְדָּשׁ הֵמָּה יוֹצְאִים; והיו וְהָיָה פִרְיוֹ לְמַאֲכָל, וְעָלֵהוּ לִתְרוּפָה.
ve'al-hanachal ya'aleh al-sefato mizeh umizeh kol-etz-ma'akal lo-yibol alehu velo-yitom piryo, lachodashio yevaker--ki meimav, min-hamikdash hemah yotze'im; vehayah piryo lema'akal, ve'alehu litrufah.
And by the river upon the bank thereof, on this side and on that side, shall grow every tree for food, whose leaf shall not wither, neither shall the fruit thereof fail; it shall bring forth new fruit every month, because the waters thereof issue out of the sanctuary; and the fruit thereof shall be for food, and the leaf thereof for healing.'
13.
כֹּה אָמַר, אֲדֹנָי יְהוִה, גֵּה גְבוּל אֲשֶׁר תִּתְנַחֲלוּ אֶת-הָאָרֶץ, לִשְׁנֵי עָשָׂר שִׁבְטֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל--יוֹסֵף, חֲבָלִים.
koh amar, Adonai YHWH, geh gevul asher titnachalu et-ha'aretz, lishnei asar shivtei Yisrael--Yosef, chavalim.
Thus saith the Lord GOD: 'This shall be the border, whereby ye shall divide the land for inheritance according to the twelve tribes of Israel, Joseph receiving two portions.
14.
וּנְחַלְתֶּם אוֹתָהּ, אִישׁ כְּאָחִיו, אֲשֶׁר נָשָׂאתִי אֶת-יָדִי, לְתִתָּהּ לַאֲבֹתֵיכֶם; וְנָפְלָה הָאָרֶץ הַזֹּאת, לָכֶם--בְּנַחֲלָה.
uncheltem otah, ish ke'achiv, asher nasati et-yadi, letitah la'avoteichem; venafledah ha'aretz hazzot, lachem--benachalah.
And ye shall inherit it, one as well as another, concerning which I lifted up My hand to give it unto your fathers; and this land shall fall unto you for inheritance.
15.
וְזֶה, גְּבוּל הָאָרֶץ: לִפְאַת צָפוֹנָה מִן-הַיָּם הַגָּדוֹל, הַדֶּרֶךְ חֶתְלֹן--לְבוֹא צְדָדָה.
vezeh, gevul ha'aretz: lif'at tzafonah min-hayam hagadol, haderech chetlon--levo tzedadah.
And this shall be the border of the land: on the north side, from the Great Sea, by the way of Hethlon, unto the entrance of Zedad;
16.
חֲמָת בֵּרוֹתָה, סִבְרַיִם, אֲשֶׁר בֵּין-גְּבוּל דַּמֶּשֶׂק, וּבֵין גְּבוּל חֲמָת; חָצֵר, הַתִּיכוֹן, אֲשֶׁר, אֶל-גְּבוּל חַוְרָן.
Khamat Berotah, Sivrayim, asher bein-gevul Damesek, uvein gevul Khamat; khatzer, hatikhon, asher, el-gevul khavran.
Hamath, Berothah, Sibraim, which is between the border of Damascus and the border of Hamath; Hazer-hatticon, which is by the border of Hauran.
17.
וְהָיָה גְבוּל מִן-הַיָּם, חֲצַר עֵינוֹן גְּבוּל דַּמֶּשֶׂק, וְצָפוֹן צָפוֹנָה, וּגְבוּל חֲמָת; וְאֵת, פְּאַת צָפוֹן.
Ve'haya gevul min-hayam, khatzar 'einon gevul Damesek, vetzafon tzafonah, ugevul Khamat; ve'et, pe'at tzafon.
And the border from the sea shall be Hazar-enon at the border of Damascus, and on the north northward is the border of Hamath. This is the north side.
18.
וּפְאַת קָדִים מִבֵּין חַוְרָן וּמִבֵּין-דַּמֶּשֶׂק וּמִבֵּין הַגִּלְעָד וּמִבֵּין אֶרֶץ יִשְׂרָאֵל, הַיַּרְדֵּן--מִגְּבוּל עַל-הַיָּם הַקַּדְמוֹנִי, תָּמֹדּוּ; וְאֵת, פְּאַת קָדִימָה.
Ufe'at kadim mibe'in khavran umibe'in-Damesek umibe'in hagil'ad umibe'in eretz Yisrael, hayarden--migvul 'al-hayam hakadmoni, tamoddu; ve'et, pe'at kadimah.
And the east side, between Hauran and Damascus and Gilead, and the land of Israel, by the Jordan, from the border unto the east sea shall ye measure. This is the east side.
19.
וּפְאַת, נֶגֶב תֵּימָנָה, מִתָּמָר עַד-מֵי מְרִיבוֹת קָדֵשׁ, נַחֲלָה אֶל-הַיָּם הַגָּדוֹל; וְאֵת פְּאַת-תֵּימָנָה, נֶגְבָּה.
Ufe'at, negev teymanah, mittamar 'ad-mei merivot kadesh, nakhalah el-hayam hagadol; ve'et pe'at-teymanah, negbah.
And the south side southward shall be from Tamar as far as the waters of Meriboth-kadesh, to the Brook, unto the Great Sea. This is the south side southward.
20.
וּפְאַת-יָם, הַיָּם הַגָּדוֹל, מִגְּבוּל, עַד-נֹכַח לְבוֹא חֲמָת; זֹאת, פְּאַת-יָם.
u'fe'at-yam, hayam hagadol, migvule, ad-nokhakhe levo khamat; zot, pe'at-yam.
And the west side shall be the Great Sea, from the border as far as over against the entrance of Hamath. This is the west side.
21.
וְחִלַּקְתֶּם אֶת-הָאָרֶץ הַזֹּאת, לָכֶם--לְשִׁבְטֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל.
vekhillaktem et-ha'aretz hazot, lakhem--leshivtei Yisrael.
So shall ye divide this land unto you according to the tribes of Israel.
22.
וְהָיָה, תַּפִּלוּ אוֹתָהּ בְּנַחֲלָה, לָכֶם וּלְהַגֵּרִים הַגָּרִים בְּתוֹכְכֶם, אֲשֶׁר-הוֹלִדוּ בָנִים בְּתוֹכְכֶם; וְהָיוּ לָכֶם, כְּאֶזְרָח בִּבְנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל--אִתְּכֶם יִפְּלוּ בְנַחֲלָה, בְּתוֹךְ שִׁבְטֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל.
vehayah, tappilu otah benakhalah, lakhem ulehagerim hagarim betokhekhem, asher-holidu vanim betokhekhem; vehayu lakhem, ke'ezrakh bivnei Yisrael--itekhem ippelu venakhalah, betokh shivtei Yisrael.
And it shall come to pass, that ye shall divide it by lot for an inheritance unto you and to the strangers that sojourn among you, who shall beget children among you; and they shall be unto you as the home-born among the children of Israel; they shall have inheritance with you among the tribes of Israel.
23.
וְהָיָה בַשֵּׁבֶט, אֲשֶׁר-גָּר הַגֵּר אִתּוֹ--שָׁם תִּתְּנוּ נַחֲלָתוֹ, נְאֻם אֲדֹנָי יְהוִה.
vehayah vashevet, asher-gar hager ito--sham tittenu nakhalato, neum Adonai YHWH.
And it shall come to pass, that in what tribe the stranger sojourneth, there shall ye give him his inheritance, saith the Lord GOD.
