1.
וְאַתָּה בֶן-אָדָם קַח-לְךָ לְבֵנָה, וְנָתַתָּה אוֹתָהּ לְפָנֶיךָ; וְחַקּוֹתָ עָלֶיהָ עִיר, אֶת-יְרוּשָׁלִָם.
ve'attah ven-adam kakh-lekha levenah, venatatta otah lefanekha; vekhakkota aleiha ir, et-Yerushalayim.
Thou also, son of man, take thee a tile, and lay it before thee, and trace upon it a city, even Jerusalem;
2.
וְנָתַתָּה עָלֶיהָ מָצוֹר, וּבָנִיתָ עָלֶיהָ דָּיֵק, וְשָׁפַכְתָּ עָלֶיהָ, סֹלְלָה; וְנָתַתָּה עָלֶיהָ מַחֲנוֹת וְשִׂים-עָלֶיהָ כָּרִים, סָבִיב.
venatatoh aleiha matzor, uvanita aleiha dayek, veshafakhta aleiha, solelah; venatatoh aleiha mahanot vesim-aleiha karim, saviv.
and lay siege against it, and build forts against it, and cast up a mound against it; set camps also against it, and set battering rams against it round about.

וְאַתָּה קַח-לְךָ, מַחֲבַת בַּרְזֶל, וְנָתַתָּה אוֹתָהּ קִיר בַּרְזֶל, בֵּינְךָ וּבֵין הָעִיר; וַהֲכִינֹתָה אֶת-פָּנֶיךָ אֵלֶיהָ וְהָיְתָה בַמָּצוֹר, וְצַרְתָּ עָלֶיהָ--אוֹת הִיא, לְבֵית יִשְׂרָאֵל.
ve'atah kakh-lekha, mahavat barzel, venatata otah kir barzel, beinlekha uvein ha'ir; vahakhinotah et-paneikha eleiha vehayetah bammatzor, vetzarta aleiha--ot hi, leveit Yisrael.
And take thou unto thee an iron griddle, and set it for a wall of iron between thee and the city; and set thy face toward it, and it shall be besieged, and thou shalt lay siege against it. This shall be a sign to the house of Israel.

וְאַתָּה שְׁכַב עַל-צִדְּךָ הַשְּׂמָאלִי, וְשַׂמְתָּ אֶת-עֲוֺן בֵּית-יִשְׂרָאֵל עָלָיו: מִסְפַּר הַיָּמִים אֲשֶׁר תִּשְׁכַּב עָלָיו, תִּשָּׂא אֶת-עֲוֺנָם.
ve'atah shekhav al-tzidlekha hashemali, vesamta et-avon beit-Yisrael alav: mispar hayamim asher tishkav alav, tissa et-avonam.
Moreover lie thou upon thy left side, and lay the iniquity of the house of Israel upon it; according to the number of the days that thou shalt lie upon it, thou shalt bear their iniquity.

וַאֲנִי, נָתַתִּי לְךָ אֶת-שְׁנֵי עֲוֺנָם, לְמִסְפַּר יָמִים, שְׁלֹשׁ-מֵאוֹת וְתִשְׁעִים יוֹם; וְנָשָׂאתָ, עֲוֺן בֵּית-יִשְׂרָאֵל.
va'ani, natatti lekha et-shenei avonam, lemispar yamim, shelosh-me'ot vetish'im yom; venasata, avon beit-Yisrael.
For I have appointed the years of their iniquity to be unto thee a number of days, even three hundred and ninety days; so shalt thou bear the iniquity of the house of Israel.
6.
וְכִלִּיתָ אֶת-אֵלֶּה, וְשָׁכַבְתָּ עַל-צִדְּךָ הימיני הַיְמָנִי שֵׁנִית, וְנָשָׂאתָ, אֶת-עֲוֺן בֵּית-יְהוּדָה--אַרְבָּעִים יוֹם, יוֹם לַשָּׁנָה יוֹם לַשָּׁנָה נְתַתִּיו לָךְ.
vekillita et-elleh, veshakhavta al-tsiddekha hayimini hayemani shenit, venasata, et-avon beit-Yehudah--arba'im yom, yom lashanah yom lashanah netattiv lakh.
And again, when thou hast accomplished these, thou shalt lie on thy right side, and shalt bear the iniquity of the house of Judah; forty days, each day for a year, have I appointed it unto thee.

וְאֶל-מְצוֹר יְרוּשָׁלִַם תָּכִין פָּנֶיךָ, וּזְרֹעֲךָ חֲשׂוּפָה; וְנִבֵּאתָ, עָלֶיהָ.
ve'el-metsor Yerushalaim takhin panekha, uzero'akha khasufah; venibbeta, aleha.
And thou shalt set thy face toward the siege of Jerusalem, with thine arm uncovered; and thou shalt prophesy against it.
8.
וְהִנֵּה נָתַתִּי עָלֶיךָ, עֲבוֹתִים; וְלֹא-תֵהָפֵךְ מִצִּדְּךָ אֶל-צִדֶּךָ, עַד-כַּלּוֹתְךָ יְמֵי מְצוּרֶךָ.
vehinneh natatti aleyeka, avotim; velo-tehafekh mitsiddekha el-tsiddekha, ad-kallotkha yemei metsurekha.
And, behold, I lay bands upon thee, and thou shalt not turn thee from one side to another, till thou hast accomplished the days of thy siege.

וְאַתָּה קַח-לְךָ חִטִּין וּשְׂעֹרִים וּפוֹל וַעֲדָשִׁים וְדֹחַן וְכֻסְּמִים, וְנָתַתָּה אוֹתָם בִּכְלִי אֶחָד, וְעָשִׂיתָ אוֹתָם לְךָ, לְלָחֶם: מִסְפַּר הַיָּמִים אֲשֶׁר-אַתָּה שׁוֹכֵב עַל-צִדְּךָ, שְׁלֹשׁ-מֵאוֹת וְתִשְׁעִים יוֹם--תֹּאכְלֶנּוּ.
ve'atah kakh-lekha hittin use'orim ufol va'adashim vedokhan vekhussemim, venatatta otam bikhli ehad, ve'asita otam lekha, lelahem: mispar hayamim asher-atah shokhev al-tsiddekha, shelosh-me'ot vetish'im yom--tokhlennu.
Take thou also unto thee wheat, and barley, and beans, and lentils, and millet, and spelt, and put them in one vessel, and make thee bread thereof; according to the number of the days that thou shalt lie upon thy side, even three hundred and ninety days, shalt thou eat thereof.

וּמַאֲכָלְךָ, אֲשֶׁר תֹּאכְלֶנּוּ--בְּמִשְׁקוֹל, עֶשְׂרִים שֶׁקֶל לַיּוֹם: מֵעֵת עַד-עֵת, תֹּאכְלֶנּוּ.
uma'akhalekha asher tokhelennu bemishkol esrim shekel layom me'et ad et tokhelennu.
And thy food which thou shalt eat shall be by weight, twenty shekels a day; from time to time shalt thou eat it.
11.
וּמַיִם בִּמְשׂוּרָה תִשְׁתֶּה, שִׁשִּׁית הַהִין: מֵעֵת עַד-עֵת, תִּשְׁתֶּה.
umayim bimshurah tishteh shishit hahin me'et ad et tishteh.
Thou shalt drink also water by measure, the sixth part of a hin; from time to time shalt thou drink.
12.
וְעֻגַת שְׂעֹרִים, תֹּאכְלֶנָּה; וְהִיא, בְּגֶלְלֵי צֵאַת הָאָדָם--תְּעֻגֶנָה, לְעֵינֵיהֶם.
ve'ugat se'orim tokhelennah vehi beglelei tze'at ha'adam te'ugenah le'einehem.
And thou shalt eat it as barley cakes, and thou shalt bake it in their sight with dung that cometh out of man.'
13.
וַיֹּאמֶר יְהוָה, כָּכָה יֹאכְלוּ בְנֵי-יִשְׂרָאֵל אֶת-לַחְמָם טָמֵא, בַּגּוֹיִם, אֲשֶׁר אַדִּיחֵם שָׁם.
vayomer YHWH kakhah yokhlu benei-Yisrael et-lakhmam tame bagoyim asher adihem sham.
And the LORD said: 'Even thus shall the children of Israel eat their bread unclean, among the nations whither I will drive them.'
14.
וָאֹמַר, אֲהָהּ אֲדֹנָי יְהוִה, הִנֵּה נַפְשִׁי, לֹא מְטֻמָּאָה; וּנְבֵלָה וּטְרֵפָה לֹא-אָכַלְתִּי מִנְּעוּרַי וְעַד-עַתָּה, וְלֹא-בָא בְּפִי בְּשַׂר פִּגּוּל.
Va'omar, ahah Adonai YHWH, hineh nafshi, lo metummah; unevalah utrefah lo-akhalti min'uray ve'ad-atah, velo-va vefi besar pigul.
Then said I: 'Ah Lord GOD! behold, my soul hath not been polluted; for from my youth up even till now have I not eaten of that which dieth of itself, or is torn of beasts; neither came there abhorred flesh into my mouth.'
15.
וַיֹּאמֶר אֵלַי--רְאֵה נָתַתִּי לְךָ אֶת-צפועי צְפִיעֵי הַבָּקָר, תַּחַת גֶּלְלֵי הָאָדָם; וְעָשִׂיתָ אֶת-לַחְמְךָ, עֲלֵיהֶם.
Vayomer elay--re'h natati lekha et-tsefi'ei habakar, takhat gellei ha'adam; ve'asita et-lakhmeka, aleihem.
Then He said unto me: 'See, I have given thee cow's dung for man's dung, and thou shalt prepare thy bread thereon.'
16.
וַיֹּאמֶר אֵלַי, בֶּן-אָדָם הִנְנִי שֹׁבֵר מַטֵּה-לֶחֶם בִּירוּשָׁלִַם, וְאָכְלוּ-לֶחֶם בְּמִשְׁקָל, וּבִדְאָגָה; וּמַיִם, בִּמְשׂוּרָה וּבְשִׁמָּמוֹן יִשְׁתּוּ.
Vayomer elay, ben-adam hinni shover mateh-lehem Biyrushalayim, ve'akhelu-lehem bemishkal, uvid'agah; umayim, bimsurah uveshimamon yishtu.
Moreover He said unto me: 'Son of man, behold, I will break the staff of bread in Jerusalem, and they shall eat bread by weight, and with anxiety; and they shall drink water by measure, and in appalment;
17.
לְמַעַן יַחְסְרוּ, לֶחֶם וָמָיִם; וְנָשַׁמּוּ אִישׁ וְאָחִיו, וְנָמַקּוּ בַּעֲוֺנָם.
Lema'an yahseru, lehem vamayim; venashamuu ish ve'akhiw, venamuku ba'avonan.
that they may want bread and water, and be appalled one with another, and pine away in their iniquity.
