וַיְהִי דְבַר-יְהוָה, אֵלַי לֵאמֹר.
vayhi devar-YHWH, elay lemor.
And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying:

2.
בֶּן-אָדָם--הִנָּבֵא וְאָמַרְתָּ, כֹּה אָמַר אֲדֹנָי יְהוִה: הֵילִילוּ, הָהּ לַיּוֹם.
ben-adam--hinnave ve'amarta, koh amar Adonai YHWH: helilu, hah layyom.
'Son of man, prophesy, and say: Thus saith the Lord GOD: wail ye: Woe worth the day!
3.
כִּי-קָרוֹב יוֹם, וְקָרוֹב יוֹם לַיהוָה: יוֹם עָנָן, עֵת גּוֹיִם יִהְיֶה.
ki-karov yom, vekarov yom laYHWH: yom anan, et goyim yihyeh.
For the day is near, even the day of the LORD is near, a day of clouds, it shall be the time of the nations.
4.
וּבָאָה חֶרֶב, בְּמִצְרַיִם, וְהָיְתָה חַלְחָלָה בְּכוּשׁ, בִּנְפֹל חָלָל בְּמִצְרָיִם; וְלָקְחוּ הֲמוֹנָהּ, וְנֶהֶרְסוּ יְסֹדוֹתֶיהָ.
uvara cherev, bemitzrayim, vehaytah chalchalah bekush, binpol chalal bemitzrayim; veleqachu hamonah, venehersu yesodoteha.
And a sword shall come upon Egypt, and convulsion shall be in Ethiopia, when the slain shall fall in Egypt; and they shall take away her abundance, and her foundation shall be broken down.
5.
כּוּשׁ וּפוּט וְלוּד וְכָל-הָעֶרֶב וְכוּב, וּבְנֵי אֶרֶץ הַבְּרִית--אִתָּם, בַּחֶרֶב יִפֹּלוּ.
kush ufut velud vechol-haerev vekuv, uvnei eretz haberit--ittam, bacherev yippolu.
Ethiopia, and Put, and Lud, and all the mingled people, and Cub, and the children of the land that is in league, shall fall with them by the sword.
6.
כֹּה, אָמַר יְהוָה, וְנָפְלוּ סֹמְכֵי מִצְרַיִם, וְיָרַד גְּאוֹן עֻזָּהּ; מִמִּגְדֹּל סְוֵנֵה, בַּחֶרֶב יִפְּלוּ-בָהּ--נְאֻם, אֲדֹנָי יְהוִה.
koh, amar YHWH, venafulu somechei mitzrayim, veyarad geon uzzah; mimmigdol sweneh, bacherev yippelu-vah--neum, Adonai YHWH.
Thus saith the LORD: they also that uphold Egypt shall fall, and the pride of her power shall come down; from Migdol to Syene shall they fall in it by the sword, saith the Lord GOD.
7.
וְנָשַׁמּוּ, בְּתוֹךְ אֲרָצוֹת נְשַׁמּוֹת; וְעָרָיו, בְּתוֹךְ-עָרִים נַחֲרָבוֹת תִּהְיֶינָה.
venaShammu, betokh aratzot neshammot; ve'arav, betokh-arim nakharavot tihyeynah.
And they shall be desolate in the midst of the countries that are desolate, and her cities shall be in the midst of the cities that are wasted.
8.
וְיָדְעוּ, כִּי-אֲנִי יְהוָה, בְּתִתִּי-אֵשׁ בְּמִצְרַיִם, וְנִשְׁבְּרוּ כָּל-עֹזְרֶיהָ.
veyade'u, ki-ani YHWH, betitti-esh bemitzrayim, venishberu kol-ozreha.
And they shall know that I am the LORD, when I have set a fire in Egypt, and all her helpers are destroyed.
9.
בַּיּוֹם הַהוּא, יֵצְאוּ מַלְאָכִים מִלְּפָנַי בַּצִּים, לְהַחֲרִיד, אֶת-כּוּשׁ בֶּטַח; וְהָיְתָה חַלְחָלָה בָהֶם בְּיוֹם מִצְרַיִם, כִּי הִנֵּה בָּאָה.
bayyom hahu, yetze'u mal'akhim milfanay batzitz, lehakhurid, et-kush betakh; vehaytah khalkhalah bahem beyom mitzrayim, ki hineh ba'ah.
In that day shall messengers go forth from before Me in ships to make the confident Ethiopians afraid; and there shall come convulsion upon them in the day of Egypt; for, lo, it cometh.
10.
כֹּה אָמַר, אֲדֹנָי יְהוִה: וְהִשְׁבַּתִּי אֶת-הֲמוֹן מִצְרַיִם, בְּיַד נְבוּכַדְרֶאצַּר מֶלֶךְ-בָּבֶל.
koh amar, Adonai YHWH: vehishbatti et-hamon mitzrayim, beyad nevukhadretzar melekh-bavel.
Thus saith the Lord GOD: I will also make the multitude of Egypt to cease, by the hand of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon.
11.
הוּא וְעַמּוֹ אִתּוֹ, עָרִיצֵי גוֹיִם--מוּבָאִים, לְשַׁחֵת הָאָרֶץ; וְהֵרִיקוּ חַרְבוֹתָם עַל-מִצְרַיִם, וּמָלְאוּ אֶת-הָאָרֶץ חָלָל.
Hu ve'ammo itto, aritzei goyim--muba'im, leshakhet ha'aretz; veheriku kharvotam al-mitrayim, umale'u et-ha'aretz khalal.
He and his people with him, the terrible of the nations, shall be brought in to destroy the land; and they shall draw their swords against Egypt, and fill the land with the slain.
12.
וְנָתַתִּי יְאֹרִים חָרָבָה, וּמָכַרְתִּי אֶת-הָאָרֶץ בְּיַד-רָעִים; וַהֲשִׁמֹּתִי אֶרֶץ וּמְלֹאָהּ, בְּיַד-זָרִים--אֲנִי יְהוָה, דִּבַּרְתִּי.
Venatati ye'orim kharahvah, umakharti et-ha'aretz beyad-ra'im; vahashemoti eretz umelo'ah, beyad-zarim--ani YHWH, dibarti.
And I will make the rivers dry, and will give the land over into the hand of evil men; and I will make the land desolate, and all that is therein, by the hand of strangers; I the LORD have spoken it.
13.
כֹּה-אָמַר אֲדֹנָי יְהוִה, וְהַאֲבַדְתִּי גִלּוּלִים וְהִשְׁבַּתִּי אֱלִילִים מִנֹּף, וְנָשִׂיא מֵאֶרֶץ-מִצְרַיִם, לֹא יִהְיֶה-עוֹד; וְנָתַתִּי יִרְאָה, בְּאֶרֶץ מִצְרָיִם.
Koh-amar Adonai YHWH, veha'avadti gilulim vehishbati elilim minof, venasi me'eretz-mitrayim, lo yihyeh-od; venatati yir'ah, be'eretz mitrayim.
Thus saith the Lord GOD: I will also destroy the idols, and I will cause the things of nought to cease from Noph; and there shall be no more a prince out of the land of Egypt; and I will put a fear in the land of Egypt.
14.
וַהֲשִׁמֹּתִי, אֶת-פַּתְרוֹס, וְנָתַתִּי אֵשׁ, בְּצֹעַן; וְעָשִׂיתִי שְׁפָטִים, בְּנֹא.
Vahashemoti, et-patros, venatati esh, betzo'an; ve'asiti shefatim, beno.
And I will make Pathros desolate, and will set a fire in Zoan, and will execute judgments in No.
15.
וְשָׁפַכְתִּי חֲמָתִי, עַל-סִין מָעוֹז מִצְרָיִם; וְהִכְרַתִּי, אֶת-הֲמוֹן נֹא.
veshafakh-ti khamati, al-sin ma'oz mitzrayim; vehikhrat-ti, et-hamon no.
And I will pour My fury upon Sin, the stronghold of Egypt; and I will cut off the multitude of No.
16.
וְנָתַתִּי אֵשׁ, בְּמִצְרַיִם--חוּל תחיל תָּחוּל סִין, וְנֹא תִּהְיֶה לְהִבָּקֵעַ; וְנֹף, צָרֵי יוֹמָם.
venatat-ti esh, bemitzrayim--khul takhil takhul sin, ve'no tihyeh lehivake'a; ve'nof, tzarei yomam.
And I will set a fire in Egypt; Sin shall be in great convulsion, and No shall be rent asunder; and in Noph shall come adversaries in the day-time.
17.
בַּחוּרֵי אָוֶן וּפִי-בֶסֶת, בַּחֶרֶב יִפֹּלוּ; וְהֵנָּה, בַּשְּׁבִי תֵלַכְנָה.
bakhurei aven ufi-veset, bakherev yipolu; vehenna, bashevi telakhnah.
The young men of Aven and of Pi-beseth shall fall by the sword; and these cities shall go into captivity.
18.
וּבִתְחַפְנְחֵס, חָשַׂךְ הַיּוֹם, בְּשִׁבְרִי-שָׁם אֶת-מֹטוֹת מִצְרַיִם, וְנִשְׁבַּת-בָּהּ גְּאוֹן עֻזָּהּ; הִיא עָנָן יְכַסֶּנָּה, וּבְנוֹתֶיהָ בַּשְּׁבִי תֵלַכְנָה.
uvitkhavnkhes, khasakh hayom, beshivri-sham et-motot mitzrayim, venishbat-bah ge'on uzzah; hi chanan yekasennah, uvnoteha bashevi telakhnah.
At Tehaphnehes also the day shall withdraw itself, when I shall break there the yokes of Egypt, and the pride of her power shall cease in her; as for her, a cloud shall cover her, and her daughters shall go into captivity.
19.
וְעָשִׂיתִי שְׁפָטִים, בְּמִצְרָיִם; וְיָדְעוּ, כִּי-אֲנִי יְהוָה.
ve'asiti shefatim, bemitzrayim; veyade'u, ki-ani YHWH.
Thus will I execute judgments in Egypt; and they shall know that I am the LORD.'
20.
וַיְהִי, בְּאַחַת עֶשְׂרֵה שָׁנָה, בָּרִאשׁוֹן, בְּשִׁבְעָה לַחֹדֶשׁ; הָיָה דְבַר-יְהוָה, אֵלַי לֵאמֹר.
vayhi, be'achat esreh shanah, barishon, beshiv'ah lachodesh; hayah devar-YHWH, elay lemor.
And it came to pass in the eleventh year, in the first month, in the seventh day of the month, that the word of the LORD came unto me, saying:
21.
בֶּן-אָדָם, אֶת-זְרוֹעַ פַּרְעֹה מֶלֶךְ-מִצְרַיִם שָׁבָרְתִּי; וְהִנֵּה לֹא-חֻבְּשָׁה לָתֵת רְפֻאוֹת לָשׂוּם חִתּוּל, לְחָבְשָׁהּ לְחָזְקָהּ--לִתְפֹּשׂ בֶּחָרֶב.
ben-adam, et-zero'a par'oh melekh-mitzrayim shavarti; vehinneh lo-chubeshav latet refuot lasum chitul, lechavshah lechazkah--litpos becharev.
'Son of man, I have broken the arm of Pharaoh king of Egypt; and, lo, it hath not been bound up to be healed, to put a roller, that it be bound up and wax strong, that it hold the sword.
22.
לָכֵן כֹּה-אָמַר אֲדֹנָי יְהוִה, הִנְנִי אֶל-פַּרְעֹה מֶלֶךְ-מִצְרַיִם, וְשָׁבַרְתִּי אֶת-זְרֹעֹתָיו, אֶת-הַחֲזָקָה וְאֶת-הַנִּשְׁבָּרֶת; וְהִפַּלְתִּי אֶת-הַחֶרֶב, מִיָּדוֹ.
lakhen koh-amar Adonai YHWH, hinni el-par'oh melekh-mitzrayim, veshavarti et-zero'otav, et-hachazakah ve'et-hannishvaret; vehipalti et-hacherev, miyado.
Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD: Behold, I am against Pharaoh king of Egypt, and will break his arms, the strong, and that which was broken; and I will cause the sword to fall out of his hand.
23.
וַהֲפִצוֹתִי אֶת-מִצְרַיִם, בַּגּוֹיִם; וְזֵרִיתִם, בָּאֲרָצוֹת.
vaha'fitzoti et-mitzrayim, bagoyim; vezeritim, ba'aratzot.
And I will scatter the Egyptians among the nations, and will disperse them through the countries.
24.
וְחִזַּקְתִּי, אֶת-זְרֹעוֹת מֶלֶךְ בָּבֶל, וְנָתַתִּי אֶת-חַרְבִּי, בְּיָדוֹ; וְשָׁבַרְתִּי אֶת-זְרֹעוֹת פַּרְעֹה, וְנָאַק נַאֲקוֹת חָלָל לְפָנָיו.
vekhitzakti, et-zero'ot melekh bavel, venatati et-kharbi, beyado; veshavarti et-zero'ot par'oh, vena'ak na'akot khalal lefanav.
And I will strengthen the arms of the king of Babylon, and put My sword in his hand; but I will break the arms of Pharaoh, and he shall groan before him with the groanings of a deadly wounded man.
25.
וְהַחֲזַקְתִּי, אֶת-זְרֹעוֹת מֶלֶךְ בָּבֶל, וּזְרֹעוֹת פַּרְעֹה, תִּפֹּלְנָה; וְיָדְעוּ כִּי-אֲנִי יְהוָה, בְּתִתִּי חַרְבִּי בְּיַד מֶלֶךְ-בָּבֶל, וְנָטָה אוֹתָהּ, אֶל-אֶרֶץ מִצְרָיִם.
vehakhatakti, et-zero'ot melekh bavel, uzero'ot par'oh, tipolnah; veyade'u ki-ani YHWH, betiti kharbi beyad melekh-bavel, venatah otah, el-eretz mitzrayim.
And I will hold up the arms of the king of Babylon, and the arms of Pharaoh shall fall down; and they shall know that I am the LORD, when I shall put My sword into the hand of the king of Babylon, and he shall stretch it out upon the land of Egypt.
26.
וַהֲפִצוֹתִי אֶת-מִצְרַיִם בַּגּוֹיִם, וְזֵרִיתִי אוֹתָם בָּאֲרָצוֹת; וְיָדְעוּ, כִּי-אֲנִי יְהוָה.
vaha'fitzoti et-mitzrayim bagoyim, vezeriti otam ba'aratzot; veyade'u, ki-ani YHWH.
And I will scatter the Egyptians among the nations, and disperse them through the countries; and they shall know that I am the LORD.'
